I've written code that can make a phone dial a number from a function call, that's done and dusted. What I would like to achieve is adding a Dial button to each phone number field on the forms in Dynamics CRM. Eventually this could also create a new phone record fill in the basic details and show it to the user to enter notes and an outcome for the phone call, and perhaps some other workflow bits to schedule the next call.
Can I put a custom control on a standard form in place of the standard control. I'm assuming it would have to be an IFrame to an asp.net page, that pulls in the record id, and the field name, looks up the number to show in a text box, and passes the number to the DialNumber function. I assume its not going to be that easy... Has anyone tried this before, what's the process, what are the gotchas?
Adding an Accordion only creates the outer most tags. I then have to add the headercssclass, contentcssclass etc. info. Then i have to manually add <Pane> tags, and then add Accordion Pane controls. Using VWDE 2008, is there a way to customize the control so that adding the Accordion control automatically adds this other info? Ideally with 2 Accordion Panes to start, but even just getting the various Accordion properties and the <Pane> tags added would make it much more <Pane>less!
how do i go about modifying the display of the validationSummary control in asp.net i want to modify it completely not just modify the color of the text etc.has anyone got any sample code etc ?

How can I run an ASP.net 4.0 app in the ISV folder on CRM 4.0? It works if I make the asp.net app target .net 2.0, but if I switch it to .net 4.0 I get 404.17's. Which imply that the script handler setting is missing from my web config, but isn't that built into the .net 4.0 runtime now? (hence it's removal from the web.config automatically). When my app was .net 2.0, I had modified the web config in the proper manner that is well documented on various sites and blogs on the net. Anyone able to get this working? (I need to use a .net 4 web control on my asp.net page)
I am using the ASP.Net menu control to load the menu items defined in a DB table. The menu items are arranged in the order defined and made visible according to the role settings given. This means that a particular person logging into the system can view only those menus that were given access rights to the role that person represents.
The present control just displays in a horizontal or vertical fashion on hover state. However I would like to customize it so that it appears in a fashion similar to those appearing in the Office 2007 package. ie, if we select Home, we can see all the items under home displayed just below it. This is always displayed until you change the menu item, say to Insert.
Is this possible with the ASP.Net menu control? If it is not, is there any other way I can achieve it. In any case, the menu items must be visible strictly based on the role access settings defined in the DB.
I'm working on a ASP.NET (C#) site that pulls most of its data from Dynamics CRM over SOAP using Microsoft's CrmService SDK. I'm at the point where a query has returned an entity with a property of the type Customer. I need to get the name string of that customer record, but cannot figure out how to do so. By doing a little guess work I figured out that what I have is GUID for the customer. How can I use this GUID to get the customer's name as a string? Relevant Links:
I need to create a customer workflow for CRM dynamics , I have visual studio 2010 Express edition install in my machine. I most of the examples in web says Go to Visual studio 2005 or more, then slect Workflow Project type in new project dialog box. but in express edition i cannot see workflow as a project type, is this because of express edition or do i need to run any thing to get this project types in to VS express.
I need a way to define a template that the control should render before each item..I currentky have the following code:
[Code]....
But Im kind of unsure about where to place the following code:
[Code]....
Since I whould like the template defined in the BeforeItemTemplate to always get added before the actual Item/<asp:MenuItem>..so I can add elements before and after each MenuItem..
URL... I'm trying this approach and I like it, It is what i was finding. customize the function he wrote to populate the pager control:
private void PopulatePager(int recordCount, int currentPage) { double dblPageCount = (double)((decimal)recordCount / Convert.ToDecimal(PageSize)); int pageCount = (int)Math.Ceiling(dblPageCount); List<ListItem> pages = new List<ListItem>(); if (pageCount > 0)
[code]...
I need the paginator is something like that:<FIRST><BACK>1,2,3....N<NEXT><LAST>where first return back to first page, back go to previous current page, next for next page and last jump to last page.How can I do that?
I've an ASCX control (WebParts aren't used in this solution) which interrogates CMS 4's data via the API provided by Microsoft.Crm.Sdk and Microsoft.Crm.SdkTypeProxy.The solution works until it's deployed to Sharepoint.
Initially I received the following error:
[SecurityException: That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers.] MyApp.SharePoint.Web.Applications.MyAppUtilities.RefreshUserFromCrm(String login) +0 MyApp.SharePoint.Web.Applications.MyApp_LoginForm.btnLogin_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e) +30 System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button.OnClick(EventArgs e) +111
Then I tried wrapping the calling code in the ASCX with SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges:
SPSecurity.RunWithElevatedPrivileges(delegate() { // FBA user may not exist yet or require refreshing MyAppUtilities.RefreshUserFromCrm(txtUser.Text); });
But this resulted in the following error (I'm thinking RunWithElevatedPrivileges isn't for this sort of thing anyway, but someone [SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Security.SharePointPermission,Microsoft.SharePoint.Security, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' failed.
When I elevate the trust level in the Sharepoint site to full everything works fine, however I need to come up with a solution that uses minimal trust (or a customised minimal trust). I'm also trying to stay clear of adding anything to the GAC.I assume the issue is occuring when trying to call functionality from Microsoft.Crm.*
currently I have a website with authentication using Microsoft.IdentityModel.Web.WSFederationAuthenticationModule. It redirects me to login page (single sign-on outside my website) and upon login, I am redirected to default page.
Now, when I was using CreateUserWizard asp.net control, it seems that upon creation of user, the control tried to use my machine name to login to db server (i.e. '$') instead of using SSO login which has just been done.
Does anybody know how to customize the control to use federation login to connect to db server? In addition, how to set so that the control will use certain specified sql account to login to db server?
I am coding in ASP.NET C#. I have Microsoft Dynamics GP hosted at a server and my database hosted at another server. I would like the GP database take value from some table there and synchronise it with my database. Which is the best alternative? Data transmission Service(DTS)?
how do i change the layout of this template? I want to change the text and change the position of the textboxes.I know that I can customize it by calling individual fields and write hard-coding, but I am curious if there is a way to use EditorForModel() in easier.
I have this requirement to display site sub menu items in horizontal direction instead of vertical.
Home | Site1 | Site2 Page1 | Page2 | Page3
Is there any attribute avaliable in Sharepoint:ASPMenu to achieve this. We dont intend to write code behind for this. how to achieve this thru Sharepoint desinger.
Is it possible to allow a user to customize sections of our website to match their look and feel? For example, to modify logos and CSS, possibly pointing back to their site for the actual content. Ideally I would also like a third-party (ASP.NET) tool to manage this, rather than coding a hack myself.
Edited: I want a solution where a customer can just use a menu to modify the attributes they want, so that there is no need for me to interact with the customer at all.
