C# - Including Data From DropDownList Into Gridview?

What I need to be able to do is create a field in my gridview that contains a link that passes two variables. One is pulled from within the gridviews datasource and the other needs to be pulled from a textbox control outside the gridview.
From what I've read so far you cannot use a hyperlinkfield for this as the datanavigateurlfields cannot be set to pull from anything but the gridview's data source.
What I attempted to do was create a template field where in the itemtemplate I called:
<a href="example.aspx?e=<%# Eval(ExampleList.SelectedItem.Value) %>">Test</a>
That comes back with an error like this:
DataBinding: 'System.Data.DataRowView' does not contain a property with the value 'TestData'

I have a gridview control which gets data from database. One of the column is a checkbox and based on the value of the checkbox, I need to display 2 more columns. Currently I am having 2 issues:
1. I am able to achieve this when OnDataBound event gets triggered. Basically I am checking the row state and type and if it is in Normal mode I check the status of the checkbox and based on the status I am setting the style on the columns I want to hide (columns contain checkboxes). But for some reason, I am not able to hide the header. The GridView shows the header but the text boxes which are in the columns are hidden.
2. During Edit mode, I have attached a javascript to the checkbox and when the status of the checkbox changes, it hide/unhides the columns, again header cannot be made hidden. Also, if I use the Visible property of the header, I can make the header invisibly (only using the code behind) but when javascript is invoked on the checkbox during edit mode, it cannot find the controls as they are not visible and hence does not do anything. Since TemplateField does not support style property I can't even set the style["display"].

I have an issue with gridview and ascx's inside. Into the item template I'm dynamically loading ascx files depending on the row hiddenfield value. Ascx control is then "opened" in panel with modalpopup extender. The issue is ascx control with ceratin programming logic behind does not postback in this scenario.
Is there any workaround here?

I have data coming from two tables with a foreign key relationship - one User table containing users of the web application, and one Page table containing details about pages visited by each user.I would like to be able to view these data in a gridview or the like on a page. It's easy enough to just show the User table data like so (I'm using the Entity Framework and LINQ):

But how can I show the Page details? I'm not bent on any particular way of showing it, but the only idea I've been able to come up with is to have a dropdown list for each user in a column. But I can't figure out how to get the page data into such a dropdown list. I have requirement to bind ASP.Net DropDownList control in EditItemTemplate of GridView.

i have followed same steps just but difference is i have a edit imagebutton with commandname="Edit".Also dropdown needs to be binded from different table(directory) and not the table through whicch grid is binded(details).

I have a problem ,i want to 2 dropdownlist box on a form and one will take loaded from data at the time of pageload and data of second dropdownlist box will change according to selected item in first dropdownlistbox ,and after that gridview will dynamicaly bind from some data according to choosen data of second dropdownlistbox .

I have a gridview.In Header of gridview i added dropdownlist.

Here the problem is, i am getting selected value in temp variable(if i change to 20,50,100) in dropdown selection event but it is not binding the pagesize for the gridview and also dropdownlist showing the value "10" only after the pageload.

I've got a GridView populated via a SqlDataSource whose Select command is controlled by a DropDownList. This is all working nicely:
How do I support the "All" user choice:
In other words, when the user selects "All" there are no aircraft names that match that so nothing is returned. Instead, I'd like the select statement to skip the WHERE clause in this case and just show everything. Do I need to create a second page for this case or is there a way to programmatically alter the SELECT command or some other way to accomplish this?

I have a Gridview and two link button in that GridView , one link button click is to add edit row ( Edit ), one link button click is to select row ( Select ). I have a dropdownlist inside row which selected when i click link button Select in the gridview edit template, as of my business logic i need to show the dropdownlist only when the user clicks Edit button and when the user clicks Select button . That mean when the user clicks Select button then they clicks Edit button on the gridvview i should allow him to edit the dropdownlist (showing the value to the user through a label).

I created 3 category table. categry1,categry2,categry3. product table.
And then use of gried view add ,edit ,update ,delete product . in product table.
In gridview retrive data from product table . i select categry from dropdownlist in gridview categry1, categry2, categry3 and save update dropdown list category value dynamically in product table. not define value static in source code.
When select category 1 change on selected index change categary 2 or 3.
In my code I used text box to ediit update delete. but here i will use dropdownlist.

I've got a gridview which contains a dropdownlist. I've got it binding to display the correct name, but when I go to update it (and it could be the dropdownlist field or any other the other fields), I get an error stating it can't update the row because
addr_cnt doesn't allow null fields. I've tried just about everything I can find to get it to keep the addr_cnt value, but nothing seems to be working. My code is below:

I have a form that will allow users to edit records. One of the fields is just a Y or N selection. I would like to use a dropdownlist to accomplish this. I'm fairly cetain this can be done but I can't find an example anywhere.I can bind the dropdownlist to Y or N but hwo do I set it to the value that is already in the database for the record that will be edited?
