I have three ListBoxes each representing a single field database table. They are presented side by side on the ASP.NET page. Is there any way to group them so that only a single item from any of the boxes can be selected at a time?edit - ie, if item 3 in box 1 is selected, selecting any item in box 2 must unselect it

I'm attempting to hook up multiple DropDownLists to a single SQLDataSource, but I want the SQLDataSource to return different rows depending on which DropDownList it is populating.
Say I have a table full of names (we'll call it TABLE_NAMES):

....and I have two dropdown lists, one with a list of person names and one with a list of dog names.
Is there a way to link up each of these dropdown lists to a single SQLDataSource and use the SelectParameter to differentiate between which records I want returned for each dropdown list?
To make matters worse, these dropdown lists will appear within a GridView control....so there will be multiple instances of each dropdown list depending on how many rows there are in the GridView.
if we are trying to add the several columns in select statement and only one condition in group by.
how can we do that ?

I am using MS SQL Server 2005 & here is my problem: I need to assign values to the multiple variables in a single select. But each value is depend on the certain value of the other column of the table.

View 4 RepliesI have a table in SQL Server which gives me a list of products (PRODUCT), and the products category (CAT). Right now I am putting all the products in the same ListBox:

But I need to create as many listboxes as there are categories, and distribute those products according to the category. Categories might be added or removed so I need to create them dynamically. So lets say the table has 5 products in category 1, 4 products in category 2 and 7 products in category 3, I would need 3 Listboxes created. The first with 5 items, the second with 4 and the last one with 7 items
I want to create multiple listboxes when you select the first it does a database query which gets a list for the second list box and it carries on for the third and so on. Beside each list box is a form to insert an entry for that list is there an article or video on how to do this. Some ajax might be needed to do what I want Im not really sure what to do I can't find an article on this.
View 1 RepliesI have a stored procedure that returns 3 tables within the single recordset it returns. If I set a SqlDataSource to get data from this procedure, it works, but it only returns the first table. I want to have a GridView display the data from the 2nd or 3rd table using a SqlDataSource, but I can't figure out how to specify a particular table.
While there are some posts discussing this out there, I can't get a definitive answer about whether or not this is even possible (?). In a worst-case scenario, I can create another SP that only returns the 3rd table - but that creates a little maintenance headache that I would prefer to avoid.
So I want to build a page with 3 sliders that are linked and limited to 100 total. So if the user slides the 1st slider to 100 then the other 2 wont move. Or they could do 50 / 25 / 25 etc etc...
So I need to limit each slider maximum based on (100 - the other 2 selected values) and I'd like to do it without a postback.

View 2 RepliesI have an inventory page with a gridview that shows 1 item per record, each item starts with a checkbox in the gridview. Currently users can select multiple records and hit the order button and everything has worked well. Now I have multiple pages in my gridview, and if a user selects a few records from the first page, and then goes to the second page, all the records (checked checkboxes) disappear from the first page.

Im using Microsoft Expression Web 3 and am in the process of making a page for my Cab Company that basically calculates the price from an area in London (In listbox A) and an airport (In listbox B) along with the type of car used (Saloon, Estate, MPV) in a checkbox list.
If I were to set a value for each and every item in Listboxes A, B and Cars, is there some sort of autosum code I can use which calculates the price. The feature is only going to be a pricequote system for now untill we get some sort of booking system up and running so it is preferred that all calculations are done & displayed on the same page.
