C# - Multiple Rows Have Multiple Submit Buttons, Should I Make A Form For Each Button?
Jan 28, 2010
I am listing about 20 rows, each row represents an Order. Each row needs to have 3 buttons, each button click will perform a different action.I have 3 actions to handle each button post request, I am just unsure how to setup the Html forms for each button.
Should I create 3 forms for each button, per row in my listing?(that would mean 20 rows x 3 forms = 60 forms on a page)Is that 'ok' to do? (i.e. or is there a better way to do this?)
1. I want to stop multiple clicks on a submit button. Once the user has clicked the submit button,he has been redirected to next page. but he should not be allowed to click submit button multiple times.
2. once the user has gone to the next page, he should not be able to come back to previuos page,; if at all he comes back-- all the form fields should get cleared. how?
I have a page with two sections on it - One is a new member registration section the other is the member login section. I am having an issue with AJAX validation running on the registration form when someone tries to login for example.
Is there a way to assign validation to certain areas of a page so if someone clicks the "CREATE MY FREE ACCOUNT" button if validates the appropriate fields only... instead of trying to validate when someone is attempting to login?
Both areas use validation btw.... the login section has required field validators.
I have the modal popup come up for searching something. Inside the popup (panel) I have a txtbox and a search button. I enter text and hit 'search' and the results are shown in a listview within the popup. Now every row in the list view has a button "Select". I want to click on one of those buttons to select a particular value.
Now on click of the button(within the listview), I tried calling a javascript function and doing $find('mdlPopup').hide(); , which makes the popup dissappear. But somehow the debugger takes me straight to Global.asax.Application_Error() and doesn't even give me a stack trace to see wht the issue is. And over that, the popup looks dissapeared, but the rest of the controls on the page are not enabled back. Strange?
I'm assuming, that the popup doesn't close as intended and it errored out (which took me to Global.asax.Application_Error() ), and is not enabling the rest of the controls in the page.So my question is, how do I assign multiple buttons in a listview to the okbutton (or cancelbutton) of a modalpopup extender?
Can WebMatrix handle two or more submit buttons on one page? I am from an ASP.NET WebForms background where this is no problem. One button updates a row in the database. Another button deletes it.One idea is to use one submit button and one non-submit button, and then use jQuery to fake a submit. Haven't thought this through yet.
I've got a webform in asp.net 3.5 that has two submit buttons. Each button has a corresponding textbox controlTextBox1 and Button1TextBox2 and Button2Button1 appears first on the page. When the user is entering text in TextBox1 and presses the <enter> key, the event handler for Button1 is fired appropriately. However, I want my users to be able to click the <Enter> key while Textbox2 has the focus, and have the event handler for Button2
In ASP.NET when we have multiple input section with required field validator (Like on header for login with userid & Password is required and second on footer for subscription) when we click on subscription login section's userid required field validator activates and say userid required & i can not submit subscription.
when i submit subscription details login section should not have concern with this. how to avoid this conflicts.
How to select more than one radio buttons and use model binding to attach the Roles to the model property public string []Roles? The difficulty i`m having is that though i`m having multiple rows, Only and only One radio button is selected and tha tof the last row. I have the following code:
ASP.NET MVC - Multiple Buttons on a Form this is what I am trying to do too, except the first answer doesn't satisfy my requirements and the second one uses formcollection. I am not passing formcollection. I am passing values to the ActionResult method, because in my scenario, it doesn't make much sense to use formcollection, because user is hardly filling out any data. I really prefer using SubmitImage at the moment, so I would prefer if your solution doesn't involve me switching to css or input type etc. EDIT: I'm using Ajax.BeginForm and that seems to be the problem rather than Html.SubmitImage
I am populating a form trough a query so it will return multiple values, sometimes 5 or 6 or even more. Now when I press submit I need to save each form row in a database.table as a new entry. Other question is I have 3 check-boxes when the submit button is pressed it need to insert the value corresponding to the selected one, how to do that?
Code: @{ var db = Database.Open("quality"); var selectQueryString = "SELECT * FROM perguntas WHERE chklst_id=@0 ORDER BY id" var id = UrlData[0];
I am a seasoned desktop developer but I am new to MVC, EF and web development in general. I have been following the MVC Music Store tutorial but using my own database and project instead of the one from the tutorial.
My project is a web front end to a configuration database that lets us implement new Markets (a.k.a. Customers) for our IVR. For the View that allows the user to modify an existing Market I use a ViewModel class that has two properties. One property (clientData) is an EntityObject populated from a single row of the Client_Data table. The other property (callflowSeq) is a List of EntityObjects populated from about 40 rows of the Callflow_Sequence table.
The "Get" Edit method of the MarketsEditViewModel displays the Edit View fine but when I modify the data only the Client_Data table gets updated.
Here is my ViewModel:
[Code]....
Here are the Edit methods from my Controller:
[Code]....
Here is my View:
[Code]....
It seems that I can't use UpdateModel() to update the Callflow_Sequence table but I can't figure out how to do it manually.
My Problem is ,I have a simple web form, which contains two textboxes and a button.there are some asp.net validator controls on page.so i want client side disabling of button when all validation is done.and also after disabling of button, i am executing some server side code. All of this is working fine but, in case when I set postback url of button it gets fail. bellow is some part of coding that will give you some brief idea.
I wanted to make this functionality in composite control
Since i have 5 buttons that pretty much run the same code, except for the database updates, i found some examples of how to do this.. so i created 1 button event, and put my general calc code then some if statements to determine what button was clicked.. but doing this now i get a NullReferenceException
and here is the code its complaining about, why would this work within the other button events, but not this one? Ive compared and and all the buttons on the page are the same with the except of the database entries.
Im struggling with a way to bind multiple rows of sql data to specific controls, what im trying to acheive is having a list of questions / answers in my SQL db and loading them into my web form to build a questionaire.
The data i load into the form depends on criteria like which questionaire is it (there will be 2 seperate ones) and what language should it be loaded in, this will be controlled using drop down lists and passing these parameters to the SQL select statement.
The problem i have is i am unsure which method to pull the data out of the question column in my table, and bind it to seperate controls row by row, should i use a SQLDataReader or load the data into a dataset, or run a stored procedure to pull the data?
Which is the best way to get data from sql and bind it to controls in this situation?
I have ASP.Net code generating my button's HTML for me using divs to get it to look and behave how I want. This question is regarding the HTML produced by the ASP.Net code.A standard button is easy, just set the onClick event of the div to change the page location:
<div name="mybutton" id="mybutton" class="customButton" onClick="javascript:document.location.href='wherever.html';"> Button Text </div>
This works great, however, if I want a button like this to submit the form in which it resides, I would have imagined something like below:
I am using two button click events and some required field validators . If I click the first button the fields in the other button also validates
I actually want to validate based on the button click if a first button is clicked only the fileds which are under button1 should validate not the fields which are in button2.
I want to delete grid view row on button click .when I select a row and click on delete button the selected row should be delete using jquery, with out using database . I want to do this work on button click using jquery
I have a form which inserts data in DB on Submit button click but the problem is when client click the button multiple times its sends multiple create requests means multiple button click events for the same time of same data, which must not be.
I tried to disable the button when client click the Submit button first time but after this it does not call server click event handler or not fire the server click event once it got disabled.
