JQuery :: Way To Handle Enter Key With A Webform That Has Multiple Submit Buttons
Mar 15, 2011
I've got a webform in asp.net 3.5 that has two submit buttons. Each button has a corresponding textbox controlTextBox1 and Button1TextBox2 and Button2Button1 appears first on the page.When the user is entering text in TextBox1 and presses the <enter> key, the event handler for Button1 is fired appropriately. However, I want my users to be able to click the <Enter> key while Textbox2 has the focus, and have the event handler for Button2
I am listing about 20 rows, each row represents an Order.Each row needs to have 3 buttons, each button click will perform a different action.I have 3 actions to handle each button post request, I am just unsure how to setup the Html forms for each button.
Should I create 3 forms for each button, per row in my listing?(that would mean 20 rows x 3 forms = 60 forms on a page)Is that 'ok' to do? (i.e. or is there a better way to do this?)
I have a page with two sections on it - One is a new member registration section the other is the member login section. I am having an issue with AJAX validation running on the registration form when someone tries to login for example.
Is there a way to assign validation to certain areas of a page so if someone clicks the "CREATE MY FREE ACCOUNT" button if validates the appropriate fields only... instead of trying to validate when someone is attempting to login?
Both areas use validation btw.... the login section has required field validators.
I've a Username and Password TextBoxes, and more than one ImageButton in the page, so while I type the password, press enter, it presses another ImageButton than the Login ImageButton in my page.
How can I choose which ImageButton function to fire when pressing Enter while in the Password TextBox?
Can WebMatrix handle two or more submit buttons on one page? I am from an ASP.NET WebForms background where this is no problem. One button updates a row in the database. Another button deletes it.One idea is to use one submit button and one non-submit button, and then use jQuery to fake a submit. Haven't thought this through yet.
I have a page with multiple textboxes and each has a button associated with it. This works as a search 'hub', I suppose, where the user can search by ID, name etc. When entering a search term for e.g. name however, pressing enter 'clicks' the very first button on the page (ID search), causing an error if the associated textbox is empty (which it would be if someone meant to search by name). I have attempted to rectify this using JQuery, and have written the following:
I'm simply using the click event so that I can monitor where focus is redirected, but eventually I would use .keypress. However, nothing happens upon clicking a textbox and I can't see for the life of me what is wrong with the JQuery. To elaborate on the problem, the .NET code used looks similar to the following throughout the page.
I have a webcontrol that will exist multiple time on a page. I have some javascript (JQuery) in the control and when I have multiple controls on a page the functions get confused.I have seen plenty of stuff on why this is the case - basically my functions use set id's but i need to somehow make them relative.An example of a function ...
function showUploader() { var img = $('#<%=ImgID.ClientID %>'); $('#<%=UploaderIFrame.ClientID %>').attr('src', '<%=ResolveUrl("~/Controls/EditableImageControl/ImageUploader/ImageUploader.aspx") %>' +[code]....
how to get references to the html elements in the web control?
In ASP.NET when we have multiple input section with required field validator (Like on header for login with userid & Password is required and second on footer for subscription) when we click on subscription login section's userid required field validator activates and say userid required & i can not submit subscription.
when i submit subscription details login section should not have concern with this. how to avoid this conflicts.
I'm adding a extra functionality to an existing program. Its a Login page to manage the time a user came in and out. So first a login is asked, then (on the same page) a list with the login times are shown. The same button is used (just relabelled) for the login and time in/out.
The problem exist when users want to use enter to login and time in/out. So quickly press enter twice. No problems with the login. But the second page wont recognize the enter. even when I capture the keypress with JavaScript nothing happens. I have to click the form (or a object in the form) so the enter would work.
When I press enter in my loginform, my search form at the top of the website runs instead. I'm trying to handle the enter key but I keep getting a missingmemberexception.
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Dim getButton As New findbuttonControl Dim vButton As Object Dim getPassword As New findChildControl Dim vPassword As Object vButton = getButton.getGrandChildValue(Me.LoginView1.Controls, "Login1", "LoginButton") vPassword = getPassword.getGrandChildValue(Me.LoginView1.Controls, "Login1", "Password") vPassword.Attributes.Add("onkeydown", "if(event.which || event.keyCode){if ((event.which == 13) || (event.keyCode == 13)) {document.getElementById('" + vButton + "').click();return false;}} else {return true}; ") End Sub
I have a view with 2 submit buttons. Both must submit the form data to the controller, but the actions the perform are different.If the user clicks Button A, the form is submitted, the model is modified, and the model is returned to the form with some updated information. I'd also like to make a visible if Button A was clicked. So, initially, the is not visible, but if button A has been clicked, when the view is re-displayed, the must be visible. (Possible?)
I have a chat application I've developed which sits inside a master page. When the user presses enter inside his/her chat input field, I want that to trigger the submit chat behaviour (same as clicking the 'submit' button under the chat input field), but because there is another submit button inside the master page and higher up the page (a search function), that is what gets triggered. So if the user hits enter, s/he gets sent off to the search page.
How to handle enter key on text box, like if press enter key on textbox it will fire submit button, i want focus will move to next textbox or other control and so on. secondly on pressing back key page moves to previous page, how to disable this, but i want backspace key to work on controls
with creating a submit button?What I need to do is1. Take a parameter from a text field2. Send that parameter to a function to get data when the user clicks submit3. return that data back to the calling page.
I am working on an mvc application. Two tables each have their individual submit button. Table1 has default submit on enter key. How do I change the submit button based on textbox focus?
I have an AJAX PopupExtender that popsup a panel with submit button. I want to recognise the enter key press as the click event for the submit buttNeed to set the form property called "AcceptButton" to this button to achieve this functionality. I have two popups with a submit button on each of them. How to set this behaviour ?
This seems to be a standard issue I'm having but cannot resolve with MVC1.0. Could someone tell me if there is anything I need to check as standard to get regular, MVC style, friendly URLs to work, please?I'm on IIS6, XP Pro with the default web site pointing at my web app. I have unchecked "check file exists" under home directory configuration.
I'm trying to write code that will disable submit button (or all submit buttons) on the page to avoid double postback.I thought of generating my own postback javascript function (and inject postback javascript using GetPostbackEventReference) but maybe there are some better ways to do this? Or maybe there is some other way to avoid double postbacks?
My question is better tricky,i know how to handle enter key event in single for textbox in master page. but in my case, i have a text box and button for do the seach and another login user control to do the login.
Then i have write code for trigger the enter key event to every textbox focus. but alwys search button click event is raising. even if focus the login control text box focus.
I am using the TabContainer control on my page.. i have 3 tabpanels within it that are used for 3 different types of searches..After meeting with the client yesterday it was brought to our attention that once you complete the fields you want to search on and hit enter nothing happens..Is there a way to enable the enter key for the buttons? And if there is, can it be setup so it triggers the correct button? I say this because on the page, even though there are 3 tabs each with their own submit button. Outside of the tabcontainer, we have another button that is used to save the search criteria for later use. So on the page there are 4 submit buttons
