Is it possible to use MSMQ in web ?
Is it possible to use socket programming in web ?
Its because i am calling SP in every 5 seconds and its very lengthy. I want to use socket programming or MSMQ in LIVE trading system because if any thing update or modify in tables then only web page get notification from MSMQ or Socket and i will bind my page then only. And if possible then its secure and perfect for web live environment ?

Oct 28, 2010i would like to write a streaming programming which will keep updated or query the database. I would like to use a connection instead of open and close connection on each transaction. But the streaming programming would not end, running at all the time. So, is it any effect if i am using only one connection (within a long period). Such as performance, timeout issue, or others exception.

I am just unable to figure out the complete model (or prototype) of my project. As chess programming should be very efficient in memory consumption and speed, can someone provide me a good idea , how should I develop my application. Currently, I am taking a class named 'Chessboard' for my project and its objects are chesspieces ( pawn,king,queeen). I am initialising each object with some properties (type, value, color etc). But its quite complex. I am having 32 objects in this approach.

Oct 8, 2010We have a ASP .NET application which will be deployed in a web farm. We would like to find the total number of sessions that have been established. If we create a counter in global.asax.cs, it will be able to count only within aspnet_wp process. In a web farm, multiple nodes will have IIS on multiple machines. If we use SQL server-based session management, can we get the total number of active session by querying the Session DB? If we later decide to use session state server to store the sessions, can we get the number of active sessions?

Due to our preference to ASP.net and to the lack of any documentation from the previous developer, we do not want to spend much resources on developing in PHP. For implementing new features, we will create an Asp.net application that has the same look to the user. We want to develop a kind of 'coexisting' web application. Therefore we must share sessions between an PHP and an Asp.net webapplication project, because there is a usermanagement involved with an existing MySQL database.
(e.g. link 'A' directs to the PHP website, and link 'B' directs to the asp.net application)
How can we share the session between and PHP and an asp.net application?
And does anyone have a hint for this 'coexisting' thing, that might be useful in development?

C# - How To Handle NHibernate Sessions In WebForms Application
Jul 16, 2010I see there are 2 possible scenarios as to the session handling:
Open one single ISession per request. Open it at request start and close it at request end.Open one ISession per conceptual "unit of work". Many sessions are created for a request.
The approach #1 is the one I'm doing now. I'm a little bit worried about it because, although it works, it's a little bit difficult to debug. For instance, I have an object not being saved (even though I ordered it to) and I'm having trouble debugging since there's a LOT of things happening during a complete request life-cycle.
The approach #2 seems to be the standard best-practice (not sure about ASP.NET) and I'm sure it's pretty easier to debug. The problem I see is about inter-session communication. For instance: My Page class holds a reference to the User, which is a persistent object. Many of the operations receive the user as parameter. As the user belongs to a different session, I can't pass it as a parameter.
I'm biased to #2, but I don't know if it's the best practice, nor how to deal with cross-session object.
Managing NHibernate Sessions For Multi-tenant Application?
Oct 15, 2010I have scoured the web and have yet to find and example that matches my requirements.
What I have is an existing multi-tenant asp.net application where all users authenticate against a single SQL Server database. This database also contains several other settings type data that is used within the application. Each client after authentication, utilizes thier own SQL Server database for data storage, for isolation purposes. Essentially all of the client database are identical and reside on the same server, but reside on one or more servers as well.
The application is currently written in asp.net 2.5 framework and utilizes the Micrsoft Practices Enterprise Library for DAL. Wnd we are looking to migrate to 4.0 and implement NHibernate to replace the MPEL.
I have implemented a solution already using NHibernate and the 4.0 framework, so I am familar with the concepts. I found the resources for my current session manager here as a matter of fact. But that application only had a single database, so not much too it.
The implementation is essentially what you see here:

The other solutions that I have seen multiple config entries and/or files to manage this, but that is not desireable, since we may add new clients frequently and all of the connection information is already maintained in the authentication database.

Mar 16, 2011but I am rather confused about what to invest in. I heard that server-side code translates into client-side code. So, if you have an .aspx file, it will be converted to HTML/CSS/JavaScript. I have experience with the latter three technologies put into a rather dull text file and rendered by a web browser. My question is how much HTML/CSS/Javascript coding would I have to do when server-side programming? In other words, can someone using ASP.NET program purely on the server side and not bother to write for the client side? Of course, I don't care about server-side being translated into client-side, but I am wondering if client-side programming needs to be done explicitly and to what degree.

Feb 28, 2010I want to add some functionality into a formview when it is in its "editable" state. I want to have a check box and if a user clicks the checkbox then it makes certain text areas and labels appear inside a table. Seems straightforward except that I am not sure how to access a formview in a code behind and do it when its in the editable state and then I have the consideration of the ProfileDataSource which shouldn't matter because thats not part of manipulating the visual elements inside the Formview.

Nov 10, 2010I need to develop an application, which will get records (orders) from one application and process them. The updates to this records (order updates) will be sent back to the source application for end customer reference. I'm planning to achieve this data synchronization at the database level using triggers and stored procedures to insert database between the 2 databases.
But, the issue is I have to deploy this application in 3 different customer sites and I have to change the database names (cannot use the same database name) in each deployment manually. Because of this deployment issue, I was thinking of handling this within the asp.net application where I can store the db name in the database and then build the query within the application, but I dont want to do it as building queries like that doesnt look very professional.
