Architecture :: MSMQ And Socket Programming In Web?
Dec 31, 2010
I am working on live trading system, in this web system i have to show live data so i am calling my store procedure for bind my data. I have few questions -
Is it possible to use MSMQ in web ?
Is it possible to use socket programming in web ?
Its because i am calling SP in every 5 seconds and its very lengthy. I want to use socket programming or MSMQ in LIVE trading system because if any thing update or modify in tables then only web page get notification from MSMQ or Socket and i will bind my page then only. And if possible then its secure and perfect for web live environment ?

I want to know that What are the factors if we use methods on each .cs page for connection and executing query on each aspx code behind page rather then using BAL .
How our application get affected in terms of performance and speed or other way?
when we put our website on server after publish/compile in general approach (using query in C# code behind) rathor than using stored procedures?
then which logic is better and why ?

I've a project in C which acts as a server and accepts socket communication. The server project has multiple C files is an exe which accepts messages from the client program and responds accordingly. I've to write a Client program in C# which should open a socket communication and send a series of messages depending on the result of previous message sent.
Is it possible to send a message in such a way that it will call a function in one of the C file in the server project?

i would like to write a streaming programming which will keep updated or query the database. I would like to use a connection instead of open and close connection on each transaction. But the streaming programming would not end, running at all the time. So, is it any effect if i am using only one connection (within a long period). Such as performance, timeout issue, or others exception.

I am trying to develop a chess application in asp.net (C#). I am very confused about overall structure of the application. I am just unable to figure out the complete model (or prototype) of my project. As chess programming should be very efficient in memory consumption and speed, can someone provide me a good idea , how should I develop my application. Currently, I am taking a class named 'Chessboard' for my project and its objects are chesspieces ( pawn,king,queeen). I am initialising each object with some properties (type, value, color etc). But its quite complex. I am having 32 objects in this approach.

but I am rather confused about what to invest in. I heard that server-side code translates into client-side code. So, if you have an .aspx file, it will be converted to HTML/CSS/JavaScript. I have experience with the latter three technologies put into a rather dull text file and rendered by a web browser. My question is how much HTML/CSS/Javascript coding would I have to do when server-side programming? In other words, can someone using ASP.NET program purely on the server side and not bother to write for the client side? Of course, I don't care about server-side being translated into client-side, but I am wondering if client-side programming needs to be done explicitly and to what degree.

A part of the application I'm working on is an swf that shows a test with some 80 questions. Each question is saved in SQL Server through WebORB and ASP.NET. If a candidate finishes the test, the session needs to be validated. The problem is that sometimes 350 candidates finish their test at the same moment, and the CPU on the web server and SQL Server explodes (350 validations concurrently).Now, how should I implement queuing here? In the database, there's a table that has a record for each session. One column holds the status. 1 is finished, 2 is validated.
I could implement queuing in two ways (as I see it, maybe you have other propositions):A process that checks the table for records with status 1. If it finds one, it validates the session. So, sessions are validated one after one.
If a candidate finishes its session, a message is sent to a MSMQ queue. Another process listens to the queue and validates sessions one after one.Now:What would be the best approach?Where do you start the process that will validate sessions? In your global.asax (application_start)? As a windows service? As an exe on the root of the website that is started in application_start?To me, using the table and looking for records with status 1 seems the easiest way.

I have a Web App and a service sitting on the same machine and communicating via message queues. The problem I'm experiencing is that about half of the time the messages I send from the service are not arriving to the reading code in the web app. Some of them will arrive and some will not. The messages are sent with at least 1 second delay between them.
To make things harder - I don't see ANY of my messages in the management console, even those that do arrive. I turned journaling on, but see no difference. I have full access to the queue.
The reading code looks like this:
public SomeMethod
{
...
MessageQueue respQ = Utils.GetResponseQueue();[code]....

I am have made a website which entertains its users(authenticated) to send sms. Website is available to users within my local network and outside (internet). I have designed two libraries, one for sending receiving sms and other one for processing those sms messages....But whenever page is refreshed, all the objects are initialized again blah blah resulting error for port 'Acess denied' For that I used object serialization etc. But I want to put my whole sms related work to separate process and use MSMQ between my website and sms process for communication. Please guide me that how can I run that separate sms process all the time and taking commands from website to send sms to whom etc?
Requirements:
1. SMS Process (background) should not have any interface but to communicate with using MSMQ only.
2. Website should be able to communicate with that SMS Process at any time using MSMQ, that is commands to send sms to whom, show received sms etc.
I am complete with all my website and sms engine work. All put all this in website but couldnt get reliablility. Please just guide me how and where to start for MSQM?

I'm seeing a really strange error that I'm having a difficult timetracking down. I think its related to my configuration of Rhino ESB, though I'm not sure
if RSB is actually causing it, so I figured I'd ask and see ifanyone else has come across this in any other usages of MSMQ.I'm using RSB as a client in a web app (ASP.NET, the client runs in the background). The client talks to a windows service via the MSMQ binding for RSB. Restarting the service never appears to have an effect on MSMQ, neither does restarting IIS by hand. However, whenever I actually restart the computer itself, MSMQ always refuses to start back up, claiming that a "queue is in an inconsistent state". Attempting to start MSMQ manually results in the same error, effectively rendering the MSMQ install completely useless. The only way to solve it is to actually remove then reinstall MSMQ.
The only information I've found via the almighty Google are references to a problem in MSMQ 2.0 (this problem is occurring in MSMQ 4.0). I've verified that Dispose is being called on on the bus at shutdown, in both the service and the web site.

To meet the needs of a colleague, I must get plian text into a MSMQ message queue. Trouble is, Sytem.Messaging results in a body wich defaults to xml content. I had thoght that this would get round the problem - but it doesn't:
[Code]....
The body content looks rather strange actually - it reads:
54 65 73 74 20 54 65 78 Test Tex
74 20 4D 65 73 73 61 67 t Messag
65 e
Any thoughts on how to get rid of all those numbers and just have a plain text body?

Iam trying to make a socket connection and am facing with the following error.
Socket tempSocket =new
Socket(ipe.AddressFamily,
SocketType.Stream,
ProtocolType.Tcp);
The tempSocket is connected to the particular IP and tempSocket.Connected is giving me value as True. But the property MultiCastLoopBack property is giving me the following error with error code 10042.
"An unknown, invalid, or unsupported option or level was specified in a getsockopt or setsockopt call."
So is there any problem with the IP or Tcp is not supported with Stream as SocketType?

Am using socket connection to send and receive values. The following code is used to receive response.
[Code]....
In the above code, am facing a prob in skt.Available. If i dont give the thread.sleep, it is not repeating the while loop and it exits after onetime. And if i dont give skt.Available line, sometimes it throws socket Exception. I do not want to use thread.sleep. Does anyone knows why this is happening and how can i resolve this?

At the moment I am using an Asynchronous Client Socket but the OnRead event does not fired as soon as the server sent the strings

I wrote a small socket client application talking to my asp.net server application.
On the asp.net side, I created a IHttpHandler. I want to send data back and forth on one HTTP request.
I tried the following code which run an infinite loop inside function ProcessRequest(). The client side opens a socket connection and send HTTP POST request.
I am not sure how asp.net work. In HTTP POST I have to specify Content-Length, I tried a small value, like 20, then asp.net handler can only get 20 bytes in the inputstream. I tried to use 4096000 bytes(close to the maximum IIS allowed), then the inputstream cannot get anything, it seems IIS is waiting for all data(4096000) to come from client side before it gives the handler a chance to read from the socket.
public class DeviceDataHandler : IHttpHandler
{
public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context)
{
try
{
Stream inputstream = context.Request.InputStream;
Stream outputstream = context.Response.OutputStream;
/loop forever until exception is thrown
while (true)
{
ProcessData(inputstream, outputstream);
}
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
ZenLog.logError("DeviceConnector exception: " + ex.Message);
}
}
public bool IsReusable
{
get
{
return true;
}
}
}

I want to send socket information to aspx page.eg. I have 80 clients connected to server. Server is doing some calculation based on the user input and if one of the condition is true, it will send the signal to all the connected clients. I'm the client. The other vendor is the server. Currently, my application is windows based, I want to change it to web based. So, When the server send the signal , I want to receive this signal from the web page.

We have a component that needs to sit in asp.net that creates a listening socket on a well known port.The reason we have the socket is the asp.net need component needs to received events from external services and other technologies weren't quick or flexible enough.We start the socket listening in application_start,and close the socket in application_end. The issue is if we are receiving http requests to the web site, and modify the web.config, the application_start event is called before the application_end is called,so we cannot open the socket (we get an error about duplicate socket being open). We dont have a reference to the original socket in the application_start after the web.config change, so we cannot shut it down from there.
