How can I use double buffering in asp.net C#?I want smthng like that : I dont want full page refresh when I click a button in a web page.. I think it can be solved with double buffering. When a button clicked for redirect a content page (button-in master page), current page will not go until the redirected page completely load in the background..
I have an image uploader in admin panel of my website. That uploaded image is shown in some user page. Now, when i open the user page in a tab & the admin page containing the image uploader in another tab and then upload the image here and save it, it should automatically refresh the user page in the tab already opened but should not disturb the page that am currently now.
I have a receipt page for my clients that will display their info and they will get notify by an email message. Here is the problem: when user hit refresh button from a brownser, it will send duplicate email message to the user.
This is what i have:
protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if(!IsPostBack) SendEmail() } protected void SendEmail() { //here is my function for email }
I want a confirmation password message box on a click button event. if password is correct then it will perform some business rule action. other wise it will show a message you are authorised for it.the button will be server side control at the webpage home.aspx
I have some asp.net pages that read and write cookie values. During the life cycle of a page it may update the cookie value and then need to read it again further in the code. What I've found is that it's not getting the latest value of the cookie until a page refresh. Is there a way around this? Here's the code I'm using to set and get the values.
public static string GetValue(SessionKey sessionKey) { HttpCookie cookie = HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies[cookiePrefix]; if (cookie == null) return string.Empty; return cookie[sessionKey.SessionKeyName] ?? string.Empty; } public static void SetValue(SessionKey sessionKey, string sessionValue) { HttpCookie cookie = HttpContext.Current.Request.Cookies[cookiePrefix]; if (cookie == null) cookie = new HttpCookie(cookiePrefix); cookie.Values[sessionKey.SessionKeyName] = sessionValue; cookie.Expires = DateTime.Now.AddHours(1); HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies.Set(cookie); }
I have a page that shows statistics for users, this cannot be cached because each user has different statistics and there are many thus the real time query must be made.
What the way to avoid database server overload when user will click F5's to refresh or to ask different queries in short time intervals ?
I have a button on my web page and i would like to know if its possible to aviod consecutive clicks. Lets say i have a submit button or another button which inserts into db. And i figured out that there are two records in the db. So i would like to avoid consecutive button clicks.
I will describe my problem in simple way so it's not exactly what I'm trying to do but the idea is the same.Here is the problem:
I create dynamic buttons from code behind.I get some id from query string,create button with that id ,dynamic add event handler to click event,and add button to placeholder.I store the list of id-s in session and in page load method recreate these buttons and add to placeholder.One of the id-s is CurrentId and it's also stored in session.Buttons click handler do something like this
In page load when I create buttons I want to set button text property different from others if id==Convert.ToInt32(Session["CurrentId"]) when list of id-s are gotten from session.But problem is that click event handler is called after page load,and when I create buttons in page load ,CurrentId in session hasn't been channged by click event handler.Can you suggest any solution to this situation?
when i click on button then postback happen but i stopped the postback. my code is follows.

This upload is working. But why the page is getting refreshed? this is not partial post back and instead it 's full post back. i have read the articles for the fileuplaod with issue inside the update panel. is there any way to achieve this asynchronous upload on button click?
I don't want to use the Ajaxtoolkit  Asyncupload because that will upload (Ref : [URL] ....] the moment when we seelct the file itself which i don't want to do that. i need to do on the button click event.Â
I just discover why some validation is working bad on some of my forms: the button click event is being called before page load.
What I need for good is (I consider this is a normal cycle of events):
The user press a buttonSome validation occurs at client side (js function returns true if success)Some validation occurs at server sideThe page loads again showing the results But this is what I get (BAD):
The user press a buttonSome validation occurs at client side (js function returns true if success)The page loads showing no results, because server validation hasnt happened yet Some validation occurs at server sideThe page doesn´t loads again and I cant see the results, so my client cant know what happened on the server side

i place the onClick event in asp buttons. but it is showing error like
Too many characters in character literal
my code is
<asp:Button ID="Button1" runat="server" Text="Button" onClick="alert('The button was clicked.');" />
