C# - Importing A Text File Database In Sql Server Database In C#?
Jan 22, 2010
am importing a text file database in my sql server database in asp.net c#.but i cannot fetch the column name from .txt file which contains a numeric data now what to do?
I am trying to import the SQL file provided by Elmah into my application, and I don't want to import it into the development machine I use. I want to make it a .mdf file so it can be easily transported to my host. I was wondering if there is a way to do this?
I am trying to insert data from excel file into sql server database table. which is working fine.. But when i tried it in table which has primaryKey As Autonumber and date as getdate(). its not inserting values in rows?
i am currently working on importing excel sheets into my database.
SqlBulkCopy seems to be working fine, when i whole import the data over.
But i can't do automated validation (i.e. checking for identical data in the database & etc, i am stuck!) i can import the excel sheet data a line at a time , and perform automated validation check on them.
I m trying to save files like pdf, word, excel etc... into sql express, but m getting this error in my web page:An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file C:Usersmalek.safaDocuments est vbSavingFileInDBSavingFileInDBApp_Dataaspnetdb.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share. m not getting errors inside my code, just this one appearing on the web page.
i am trying to restore database.bak in sql server 2005 (i know the database.bak was also generated in sql 2005 server)
i am trying to restore back up database .bak into the new database i just created in sql server 2005i have saved my database .bak into c drive and when i select database .bak "From Device", it doesn't get populated in the list below and i see nothing and it keeps on prompting a message"You must select a restore source"
Here's the screen shot: (i tried restoring database in sql server 2008 and it was sucessful but i am facing this problem in sql server 2005 only)
I've pretty much gotten the hang of importing data from a database onto a website using asp.net, now I want to do the reverse.I want a site that the user logs into and makes 4 different selections from 4 drop-down lists and those choices are recorded onto the database. I've worked out the log in part (it was actually really easy...) but I wanted to know a good source to learn about exporting data.
i am developing an appilication using asp.net 3.5 with c#.net and SqlServer 2005 as backend databse.
in my application i have to import the data from excel file to database. the fields in excel file and fields in databse table are same. i just want to import all data to that database table.
from an Access database, I created an Excel spreadsheet. On the spreadsheet I made the adjustments I needed to and then proceeded to use the SQL Server 2005 Import/Export Wizard to import the spreadsheet into a SQL table. I then get the following error message:[Code]....
When I remove the problem columns from the import, then it works just fine. But I really need those text columns! The SQL Server columns that they are supposed to go into are varchar(MAX).
I'am developing a commercial website using visual studio.net 2005 and sql server 2005, where i have to import contacts from microsoft outlook 2003 into my web application, so i have searched a code, but it is a console application where it displays the contacts in the command prompt, but i have to retrieve it to my database application in an asp.net application becoz im working in asp.net2.0
the code which i have used to retrive the contacts from the outlook as a console application is follows,
Imports System.Reflection Imports Outlook Module Module1 Sub Main() Dim oApp As New Outlook.ApplicationClass oApp.AnswerWizard.ClearFileList() oApp.ActiveWindow() Dim oContacts As Outlook.MAPIFolder = DirectCast(oApp.Application.ActiveExplorer().Session.GetDefaultFolder(Outlook.OlDefaultFolders.olFolderContacts), Outlook.MAPIFolder) For Each oContact As Outlook.ContactItem In oContacts.Items Dim FN As String = oContact.FirstName Dim MN As String = oContact.MobileTelephoneNumber Console.WriteLine(FN) Console.WriteLine(MN) Next Console.ReadLine()
website using text file to store data and display it using html codings. The requested website must be able to do the following functions:
1) Browse for template using txt file and select the txt file as template. (Font-styles, headers, tables....etc) 2) Browse for txt file that stores the data and display them in a so called table format categorized properly. 3) Able to do a search function and store the search results in a new txt file. (Which means a new txt file is created everytime someone performs a search and the search results is stored in the new created txt file)
Is there any website with informations/tutorials on these?
I have a text file stored in my sql DB. in that .txt file I have certain numbers like:
99435 87889 33455 33555 34556
How to get the count of these numbers from the txtfile stored in the database? Also to read the file and fetch the number one by one in a string? I am using asp.net (C#)
I am reading a word file and saving the contents into the database and retrieving it. One issue is that if word document contains a bold text or underlined text it is not getting saved into the same format. Is there any possible way to save and retrieve the rich text.
