I am using Asp.net menu control for the web site that I am currently building and I am thinking to change to work with jQuery menu. So the current menu (Asp.net menu control) works with asp.net membership as many of knew. And the menu changed based on the role of the user who logged in. Is it possible to change the menu control to jQuery menu, with out affecting the membership functionality ?
I'm looking for a good jQuery or CSS, or combo, library to enance my left side menu in an an intranet application. I don't like the 'hover only' expand/collapse style of the ASP.NET Menu control on its own, and I don't like the 'icon-click only' expand/collapse style of the TreeView control on its own.
I plan on trying the CSS Control Adapters, to render the menu with some self-respect, i.e. as nested <ul> or <ol> elements instead of the usual orgy of tables. Beyond that, I need something to give a bit of style and menulike behaviour to these nested lists, and I would prefer a jQuery plugin for this. Which should I use?
I am trying to implement dropline menu using asp.net menu control. I found JQuery dropline code @ Dynamic Drive & currently using CssFriendly Adapters to get neet CSS, but i am unable to implement it as menu control renders its own css names.
I have a navigation menu I would like to display based upon user roles (using.net membership) After several hours and headaches (from banging my head against the desk) I was wondering if someone can point me in the error of my ways.
[Code]....
[Code]....
How can I ensure that when the user is logged in, the appropriate menu items are displayed on the Landing page? Still new to all of this and my current method of 'trial and error' has seen me reach suicide levels this morning!
I have a website created in ASP.Net 3.5(C#) and I have configued asp.net defalut membership provider for it.There are 5 different type of roles in this site. Now I want to display a small role based (i.e. depending upon the logged in user's role) menu whenever a user log-in to the site. For this I have added the code in the OnPageLoad() event of the master page, here is the code -
[Code]....
Now I wanted to know Is this code is logcally correct? And what is the security level of this code?
I have this menu which has z-index of 600.I also use autocomplete, and I set the zIndex option to 700, I also tried setting the z-index in the css file, but no matter what i do, the ul list the autocomplete script generats always has z-index of 1.
this is what i see when i "inspect element" using chrome(the results ul):
[Code]....
no css alteration will help there, since its written into the style attribute of the ul element, and the zIndex option of autocomplete seems to do nothing also.for now, i can handle it by simply setting the z-index of the menu to 0, but thats a realy dirty workaround since i do want to control the z index of the autocomplete results ul.
I was browsing the net a week ago and now I cannot find the coolest menu I've ever seen. I can only describe it the best I can...
I know that it is a jQuery plugin, just don't know the name of it. It uses a left and right arrow to browse through a list of items, the item in the center is large, and all the items around it are smaller and somewhat transparent. When you click the arrow, the item to the left or right of center transitions into the center, and the rest of items rotate backward, in a circular motion. It is similar to a carousel, but the items are arranage in an oval/circular manner, and clicking the arrows left or right slide the next item to the center and make it larger.
If anyone knows what I am talking about that would be such a huge help!
Also, I am looking for a way to make a div with rounded corners with about a 10px transparent edge all the way around, but not transparent for the content inside the div.
I want to have a blog feature in my website.Website is built using .net 3.5 MVC with fluent Nhibernate.Don't want anything fancy, just something which lets me post content and can provide archives and grouping of content
I have been working with ASP.net for a while now and was very familiar with how the page lifecycle worked. I am now trying to incorporate Silverlight into my ASP.net project and I am a little confused on how it works with the ASP page lifecycle.
For example, with Silverlight, I understand you need to access the server using the web service. I am able to populate a Silverlight datagrid by calling a stored proc through the web service in the loaded event. My problem is the DataGrid does not populate until ALL the code in the loaded event has executed. As you can see below, I want to do a simple calculation after I populate the DataGrid. I need to populate the DataGrid first and then do the calculation, but the calculation is done before the grid populates.
What I need to happen:
When I call 'tpService.getStepsAsync()', I need it to go to the web service to grab the data and then populate the DataGrid. Then I need 'a = 2 + 2' to execute. How can I get this to occur?
The simplest example is when you try to log to this site. So basically i would like to do the same thing.
But since i'm now to this area... So any thoughts? Do i capture the session? The viewstate,The ip?Is there a standard way on web.config and - or on the login button that i'm missing?
I have searched almost everywhere, but no luck. Is it possible to create a sort and excel like filter in asp.net? I have seen some websites asking me to include a javascript in the code, but I am not able to get it work.
I am trying to incorporate Google Maps into my site using vb.net. I want the map to show based on an address that is coming from SQL. I am not having much luck.

It was recommended to us jQuery to resolve some of the issues that I am having. I have been trying to incorporate jQuery but it is not functioning properly. First I have a template:
I have forms authentication for my application which uses aspnet_membership database. I want to further expand this to include recording the time in and time out fro keeping an attendence record of the users.
I am using asp.net sitemap with the in-built asp.net menu but this is very 'dull'. I want to apply CSS and jQuery to give it a better visual look and feel. I have read various articles based on[URL] However, i really liked

Is there any examples or tutorials similar to this which are FREE?
have a contentEditable div with following text for example:
[Code]....
Now for example if user clicks on 'm' in word document I want to show a context menu containing few text choices. That context menu will be contained in a div element. I want to replace the word "document" with the option(text) selected by user from context menu. In my view I have to find absolute position of click to show context menu and then I have to find space elements before and after the caret position and then replace the selection with option selected from context menu. how I can do it using JavaScript and jQuery? one part of my question is about context menu and other the more important is how i can detect the word on wchich user has clicked on in contentEditable div or in text area on the other hand.
actually i want to make a similar transliteration application like google's. the process of script onversion from roman to Urdu has been done however i m facing lot of problems in user interface development on the web. google transliteration application can be found here.
