I got a problem with my login and logout for my asp.net website, whenever i try to login or logout, it will load the page i direct it to first then i have to reload the page again for the login or logout to work. First my login i am using a login control to do it and also using this code to go to another page:
protected void Login1_LoggedIn(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Server.Transfer("LogonPage.aspx");
}
Next is my logout i am just using a button for the logout along with this codes:
protected void btnLogout_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Clear();
FormsAuthentication.SignOut();
Server.Transfer("Login.aspx");
}
i really want it to login and logout at my first click.

I have a login status object on each page for logging out. Clicking on this object will logout the user and navigate to the login page. I would like to set it up when a page is loaded, if certain conditions are met the user will be automatically logged of and redirected to the login page. If I could just somehow have the program click on that object, that would do the job.

In the logout link button click event I have cleared the session variables.I am checking these session variables for null values at each page's load event.If it has the null value redirecting them to the login page.But the problem is whenever I click the browser back button,the page_load event won't get called.For that I have cleared the the browser cache history.

I am working on a web application which is designed as master and web content pages. I designed login and logout for the application. When logout is clicked, it will call a method to clear the session variables and also some other methods which will clear some data in the oracle tables.
But if the user is clicking on the internet explorer close button, then there is no way to know that the application is closed. For this I got a link where we can write a javascript method and find the unload of the page and execute all of these but pages will be loading and unloading each time user navigates inside the application and I cannot depend on unloading the page.
how can I do all the process of clearing session and other things when user clicks close button of internet explorer.
Also this application needs to be holding the session for more than 1 or 2 hours, so session should not expire till logout is clicked or close button is pressed.

I have a web application build in asp.net and using a custom membership provider for authentication and authorization. Everything works fine except when the user click on the logout link to log out of the application and being redirect to a default cover page, if the use click on the BACK BUTTON on their browser, it will actually go back to where they were before and the data will still show up.
Of course they can't do anything on that page, click on anything link they will be redirect to a login page again. But having those information display is making a lot users confused.
i am just wondering if there is any way i can either clear the browser's history so use can't go BACK, or when they click on the back button and have them redirect to the login page.

I am using ASP.NET, the web page is abandoning and clear session when a user click logout link but they click the back button and it is still showing the previous page. How can it prevent the previous page after logout? on Logout.aspx load im using this code
Session.Clear();
Response.Buffer = true;
Response.ExpiresAbsolute = DateTime.Now.AddDays(-1D);
Response.Expires = -1500;
Response.CacheControl = "no-cache";
//----- Second Technique : To Stop Caching of Secure Pages.
Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);
FormsAuthentication.SignOut();
if (Session["UserName"] == null)
{
Response.Redirect("login.aspx");
}

I have a logout button on the master page.
I have a textbox on my subpage.
When I click the text box i notice that the logout button on my master page gets focus. So if the user types something in the textbox and then presses enter/return (a common reaction it appears) the user inadvertantly logs themselves out as the logout button is triggered.
Is there any way of stopping this?
