Web Forms :: Closing Web Application With Logout Or IE Close Button?

I am working on a web application which is designed as master and web content pages. I designed login and logout for the application. When logout is clicked, it will call a method to clear the session variables and also some other methods which will clear some data in the oracle tables.
But if the user is clicking on the internet explorer close button, then there is no way to know that the application is closed. For this I got a link where we can write a javascript method and find the unload of the page and execute all of these but pages will be loading and unloading each time user navigates inside the application and I cannot depend on unloading the page.
how can I do all the process of clearing session and other things when user clicks close button of internet explorer.
Also this application needs to be holding the session for more than 1 or 2 hours, so session should not expire till logout is clicked or close button is pressed.

writing code for Session_Start() and Session_End() such that whenever a user closes the browser without logging out he is automatically forcely logged out......And too when a user logs out normally he is re-directed to the LogOn page....

I have a program that calls a thread, which starts an oracle connection and runs a query that takes about 5 minutes to complete. I want the user to be able to cancel the action if desired. When I call the Close() method on the connection, it takes a good 2 - 3 minutes to close the connection, and then the thread aborts. Is there some way I can get the connection to close faster?

I want to show a popup about browser compatibility to the users visiting my website. I have used the popup in about 5 pages and it would be annoying for the users to see the same popup for more than once when they visit my website. So I am thinking to use a session and kill it when the user closes the poup. IT should not be shown until the browser is restarted.

In My Web Application i have one master page and Sign out button in menu. When i click log out button logout.aspx will load. i wrote the following code in that page form_load
session["id"]=null;
Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache);
but after i click the log out button it will navigate to previous page.

In the page user add items to list then buy it. when user add item to list i block that item in stock until user buy or delete that item.Now my problem is when user add item in the list and then close the broswer from IE close button , the item get blocked. I want to rollback the added items when user close the browser from IE button.

After login when i logout after 10 minutes my web application gives error (Hosted on iis):
Site URL is www.shoppersonlinecub.com login Id :admin@gmail.com
And Password: 1234 ( on logout it gives error).
Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster.
Unable to understand the error.

I am building a web application with master page. When a user logs in I save the user details in session and use his details to retrieve data from db. I also have a logout button to clear the session and logout from the application.I want to know how the logout functionality like clearing session can be done if user closes the close button of the browser.

I am sending you the code. It Has two PArts First is CLIENT SECTION and Anpother is STATION Section
1) CLIENT SECTION : It has a dropdownlist binded to SQLDataSource and with this it has an imagebutton bAddClient
bAddClient will open the ModalPopup which will ask user to Add new client. And After Adding the New client when User
will close the ModalPopup MY DropDownList is not getting Populated with the New Client. I have Used UpdatePanels Also
2) STATION SECTION : It has a DropDownList, an Image BUtton , And Grid View. In Grid View it shows station details
On particular client selcted above.
I have given the delete station command on deleting the station that particular entry doesnot goes away.
It Should not be visible after it get deleted
Now when i click on imagebutton a modalpopup will open.
Now In modalpopup i have given dropdownlist , image button(to add new station), Some station Info and save button
Now when i click on dropdownlist it used to close the modalpopup then i seet the autopostback = false. Then it works fine. Is it correct way?
Now when i click on imagebutton it asks user to add new station with a textbox , save station button. When users click on savestation button then it adds station to the DB and it should update the dropDownList of ModalPoup without closing it.
But when I am clicking on imagebutton it is closing the modalpoup.
And When user clicks on ModalPoup SSave Button in end it should update GridView of STATAION SECTION too.

i plugin thickbox js at my project. i called from 2 place. One place is update pannel and another one is gridview. my problem is when i call thickbox dialog from grid view link button, after that when i click cancel button (not thickbox close or esc) and open the another thickbox link button. this dialog box has so many close button show at there. In my gridview i click the select button next to a row of data and it pops up a detailsview of that selected row. Also i created button in the details view that closes it. And below is the source code inside the detailsview for how i did that and also the code behind. Since i created it this way where i set the detailsview1.visible = false, when it closes it doesn't pop back up when i click the select button again, and that's exactly what i want it to do is pop up when i click the select button on the gridview.

In CatalogZone, when I add a WebPart, i click "close" to close PageCatalogPart control and after that i can not move web Parts unless i refresh the browser.
i tried putting: manager.DisplayMode = WebPartManager.DesignDisplayMode in page_load but that dosen't work.

I am using this code.This pop up window pops up when I clicks a button on the main page.Now I want the pop up window to be closed if the password is successfully changed and reload the main page,but if the password is not changed then refresh the pop up window again.
