Feb 7, 2011I Have gotten the logout authentication to work. THe problem was that after logout u can back browser back into the app. Now it does redirect to the app login screen, but this is good only one time. If you re-login to the app, relogout, and then try to back browser in, it goes back to the running app.
I would like to know how to get this logout process to work all the time. here is some code i have pertaining to the authentication process:

Jquery - Reference Form By Name In Javascript Using An BeginForm Html Helper
Apr 5, 2011I'm sure I'm going about this wrong but I'm trying to write a simple javascript method that will set a hidden type value upon a link click. I'm using the Html.BeginForm() helper that contains two links similar to:

The supportform name obviously doesn't exists since I'm using BeginForm() and can't specify a form name. Is there a clever way of doing this without calling Forms(0) using jQuery or something or am I completely off?

Authentication Login And Logout With Browser Back Button?
Apr 21, 2010I have a web application build in asp.net and using a custom membership provider for authentication and authorization. Everything works fine except when the user click on the logout link to log out of the application and being redirect to a default cover page, if the use click on the BACK BUTTON on their browser, it will actually go back to where they were before and the data will still show up.
Of course they can't do anything on that page, click on anything link they will be redirect to a login page again. But having those information display is making a lot users confused.
i am just wondering if there is any way i can either clear the browser's history so use can't go BACK, or when they click on the back button and have them redirect to the login page.

May 2, 2010I want to do something similar to what priceline does. It saves the recent searches in a dropdown menu. When you pick one from the recent search. The form will be populated accordingly. (See screen shot [URL] This is what I am thinking. (1) Save the searches into an array in a cookie (2), when a recent search item is chosen, retrive the corresponding array element from the cookie and then populate the form. What do you think is the best way to implement this? I especially want to know how to save the form entries into the cookie and how to populate the form.

Jan 25, 2011i want to have several domains A, B, C where a user can enter his username and password to login to a common main domain D.
So the user goes to A, B or C, enters his username and password, clicks the "login" button, and is then on the main domain D in a logged in/authenticated state. Then the user does the things he wants to do, and then clicks the logout-button and is then returned to the original domain that he came from, be it A, B or C.
What is the best way to do this?
I currently use forms authentication in ASP.NET 4.0 (C#).

May 5, 2010I am using the SQL Membership provider to handle authentication. On one particular page the main function is the registration of an asset. You have to log in first. No problem. I also have required field validators on this registration form that work nicely. The problem is, if you log in, go to that page, then click the 'logout' button, it seems to submit the form (bypassing all my validation in the process)! I know I can't be the first person to come across this, so I'm guessing I've set something up wrong somewhere.

Nov 20, 2010if a user wants to clear their personal information from a page after clicking on a button that they be re-directed to the ASP Login page. This code needs to be developed using Java Script because I want the user to confirm with a confirmation box that they intended to clear their info. I have found resources on MS that pointed to referencing the "System Web Extension" within the Web Config file shown below, which enables Java Script to be able to reference the Authentication Service classes. I am also calling the function show_confirm in the button onclick event to process the message box response.
I also need to redirect a user back to the Login page within this same show_confirm() function without pointing directly to the URL, but instead to the folder where the page is locateded like in VB Server Redirect if possible.
The error message I receive when I run this code is: Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'sys' is undefined.

Jul 30, 2010I have an implementation for my website to have facebook single sign on, using their javascript sdk.The javascript adds the cookie and I deal with it fine.The question is related to when an user logs out of facebook, I would expect the auth.sessionChange or auth.logout events to fire, but that only occurs when the page is refreshed.As my implementation is done server-side, this means that after the user logs out of facebook they can access one secure page one more time before being properly logged out.Is this the normal case or do these events usually fire up straight away and I'm maybe doing something incorrect in configuration of the facebook app?
