I guess what I mean is that I want to render the page on the server in code behind and then have a text string which would be the rendered HTML in a string variable of some sort... I dont want to render the page to a users browser... in fact there would be no user at all connected (there is no need to be)What I want to do is (in a code module) load up a page created and stored in my wed app directory. I want to be able to load it from a code module and to bhe able to load it with some parametsrs and just get the rendered HTML.
I am trying to write a module which will send a HTML email to registered users and I want that HTML to be dynamicly created depending on some values in the recipient user,s profile.

so for example, the text file may contain:

after reading the text, i would like to change the properties of the sys:label controls. After that, the text will be rendered, and displayed.

Feb 12, 2011I've been watching a video on Scott Hanselmnn teaching MVC 2 tricks/tips. He mentions how MVC 2 by default uses ASP.NET Web Forms view engine to render the output of the views; he mentions that the web forms view engine is a little slower than it could be for MVC 2 since it generates a control tree and then outputs the HTML to the page (I hope I said that right).
I was wondering what he meant by web forms generating a code tree before outputting the HTML to the page. Does anyone have insight on the view engine of Web forms and the steps of the rendering process works for ASP.NET and MVC2?
C# - Save A Binary File In SQL Server As BLOB And Text (or Get The Text From Full-Text Index)?
Mar 26, 2010Currently we are saving files (PDF, DOC) into the database as BLOB fields. I would like to be able to retrieve the raw text of the file to be able to manipulate it for hit-highlighting and other functions.Does anyone know of a simple way to either parse out the files and save the raw text on save, either via SQL or .net code. I have found that Adobe has a filtdump utility that will convert the PDF to text. Filtdump seems to be a command line tool, and i don't see a way to use a file stream. And what would the extractor be for Office documents and other file types?-or-Is there a way to pull out the raw text from the SQL Full text index, without using 3rd party filters?Note i am trying to build a .net & MSSql solution without having to use a third party tool such as Lucene

The thing is that the HtmlContent string is getting "auto decoded" so the paragraph-elemnts gets renderd as <p>(sry might mix up decoding and encodeing..Im always getting confused by those)

C# - What Happens When A Page Render Times Out

If you have an ASP.Net page that takes longer than the request time-out to render what happens to that process? Does the web service abort it?
Lets say I'm writing XML to the response stream in an ASP.Net page and it times-out calling my GenerateXML method. What happens to my method call? Does it complete but the web server reports the time out? or is it aborted?
I could probably write a test to see my own results but I figure there might be more to it.

Jan 18, 2011I want to do a Jquery POST and get a chart using renderControl attribute of CHart which will return HTML attributes back to browser. The CHart is created dynamically based on parameters passed from post and from model. I have successfully done this on WEbforms,
However the same with MVC give a empty image. The handler doesn't perform the same in MVC2 3.5. I went near to 50 sites now.
I can't use other solution like base64encoding as IE6, 7 don't support it.
What I'm trying to do? I have few data parameteres to be sent (POST) to server and in response get the Chart image as tag along with other attributes and data appended in HTML form and sent to browser, all this to be done using JQUERY. No postbacks to be used.
I have badly searched on google, bing nothing turns out to be valuable.
