C# - ItextSharp: Table Disappears When Added To Paragraph With KeepTogether=true
Jan 28, 2011I am exporting some data to a PDF and I have been using iTextSharp with a lot of success, but I just hit a wall.
I have a group of information I need to keep on a single page. This information includes a handful of other Paragraph objects and tables. I can add 3 Paragraphs to another parent Paragraph and set that parent's KeepTogether property to true and everything works great.
When I add a PdfPTable to the Paragraph with KeepTogether set to true, the table disappears. No Exceptions or error messages, the table just disappears.
Any clue as to what is happening? Is there a work around? Should I be coding differently, like is there a better parent control than Paragraph to keep text and tables together on one page?
VS 2010 Line Breaks Are Not Appearing (only Get A Solid Paragraph)
Jun 8, 2010I am currently working on a site that reades from several fields in a database to present the information on the site. One of the fields containes several paragraphs of data and I am having trouble displaying it correctly on the site.
The database holds the text in a plain text format (no html) the requirements are such that the website should be able to display this same text, properly formatted, without having to convert it to html code. Thus far I have setup a <p> tag with an ID in the markup like so:

The problem I am having is:
1) line breaks are not appearing (I only get a solid paragraph)
2) the ' marks are not showing up.

I am sure my problem is that I am feeding plain text but I am not sure of the way around this. Do I need another html element? Is there somewhere I need to convert the text?

Feb 24, 2011I am generating a pdf file in asp.net c# using itextsharp. i am not able to draw a horizontal line/verticle line/dotted line.
i tried to draw a line using the following code,i am getting no errors but the line is also not getting displayed in the pdf file

1 Pixel Line Height Difference Between Firefox And Chrome
Dec 14, 2010Working on a new site design in asp.net with master pages. Header of the page is a 35px tall "menu bar" which contains an asp menu control rendered as an unordered list.
The selected menu item is styled with a differenct colored background and 2px border around the left top and right sides. The bottom of the selected menu item should line up with the bottom of the menu bar so the selected "tab" looks as if it flows into the content beneath. Looks fine in firefox and IE but in chrome the "tab" seems to be 1 pixel higher than the bottom of the menu bar.

The selected classes are added to the li and a elements via jquery...Here is a screenshot of the problem...The chrome example is on the top and u can see 1px of red border below the tab. On the bottom is the firefox image where everything looks OK.
EDIT:After playing around with this a bit more, I have discovered that it is actually the "header" div itself that is growing by 1px in chrome... This seems very strange to me.

Jun 24, 2010Just upgraded from SSRS 2005 to 2008 (on a test server). I have a report with a list and in this list are about a dozen fields in textboxes whose fonts are all set to Verdana 8pt. When I run the report from the Report Manager, one of the 12 fields is displaying in a serif font (like Times New Roman) at around 12pt. When I preview the report in Visual Studio every field looks fine and when I run the same report in SSRS 2005 every field looks fine. Has to be a SSRS 2008 bug!

When I have a list with 1 or 2, rows the row height automaticaly expand to fill the heigt of the table.
How can I avoid this happening, and have fixed height colimns.

Set The Paragraph In A Freetextbox Control?
Mar 15, 2011I have a aspx page which contains the freetextbox. In that there is a dropdown list which contains normal, paragraph, heading 1, important etc..etc..
In the textarea of freetextbox, i have 5 lines. I have given a enter from the middle of the 4th line to the end of 5th line and i am getting a <br> tag in the html mode. If i select the same in designer and apply the paragraph from dropdown format block commands, the <p> tag is not getting applied on to the selection. If i choose the normal option in the dropdownlist, the <p> tag is getting set for the same.
when i select the Paragraph, the <p> should be applied and when i select the normal, the format should be cleared.
