i have a textbox for users to enter their new email address. they will click the "Update" button and this text that they entered will then create a new entry in an existing XML file. this xml file is used to populate 2 dropdownlist and needs to constantly update the dropdownlist with new updated entries that user entered.i tried the following code snipper but i am weak at methods..

I am having treeview with checkbox and 1 submit button it is taking values from database. Now if i check the checkbox and click the submit button it should display the selected node in the textbox..... Here is my treeview code

I created a sitemap with a treeview navigation in my aspx site. I am hoping someone can show me the code to put in a Masterpage so that when I expand a child node, all other nodes collapse, and when I expand another node, the previous expanded node collapses.
I have an example here of what I am trying to accomplish:

I'm populating a treeview dynamically. On OnTreeNodePopulate I call a sub and populate the Parent nodes. I do not want to populate the child nodes at this time. Upto this point it works fine.
Now I would like the user to click the parent node and then populate the child node. I tried to use TreeNodeExpanded, but that is called for each parent node, so that didn't work.

I'm populating my nodes from SQL 2008. My Defauld.aspx is also devided into frames. leftmenu is frame on left. topframe is frame on top and mainframe is frame right center. In my leftmenu frame LeftMenu.aspx display a SQL populated treeview. if I click on the child node it opens Home.aspx in the Main Frame. This is pretty straight forward. My problem is that i can't get the value of that populated node over to a textbox on my Home.aspx page that is displayed in the mainframe on the right. My code is as follows:

I have 3 Textboxes in my Web page. When user key in value in these 3 textboxes,their result should show on a "Label"
1) Gross Amount
2) Taxable Amount
3) Tax Amount
I have to write a Stored Procedure for calculating the value of above textboxes.
Condition is:
If Gross Amount is > or < 0.00, then Taxable and Tax amount should calculate based on below formula:
@TaxableAmt = @GrossAmt / @Rate
@TaxAmt = @GrossAmt - @TaxableAmt
but If Taxable Aount is > or < 0.00, then Gross and Tax amount should calculate based on below forumla:
@GrossAmt = @TaxableAmt * @Rate
@TaxAmt = @GrossAmt - @TaxableAmt
and for "Tax Amount" I have 2 different conditions:
If Tax Amount is = 0.00, then Taxable and Gross amount should calculate based on below formula:
@TaxableAmt = @TaxAmt / (@Rate-1)
@GrossAmt = @TaxAmt + @TaxableAmt
but If Tax Amout is <> 0.00, then whatever the value of Tax Amount is, it should key-in/show as it is.
i.e., @TaxAmt = @TaxAmt
For this requirement, I wrote below SP:
ALTER PROCEDURE [Invoice].[usp_tbl_TaxCode_Update]

A have a custom object - Person in my cs-file and I want to Bind the property Firstname from Person to my textbox txtFirstname in my aspx-file but I cant seem to make it work.
I usually work with webcontrols so its very rare that I get out of my cs-file and use the aspx-file. I can solve my problem by letting my cs-file update the Text-property on my TextBox - but I dont want that I have declared my Person object as protected in my cs-file like this
protected Person myPerson = new Person { Firstname = "Testname" }; and my aspx-file looks like this
<asp:TextBox ID="txtFirstname" runat="server" Text='<%# Bind("myPerson.Firstname")%>'></asp:TextBox>
I get nothing in my textbox and I want to use this method to update the text-property for a change - you know just to learn some new and not getting stocked in the cs-file all the time.

I'm working on a web application that stores some Office document (and any other kind of doc) on a remote shared area. I need to allow user to view the files available on shared area using my web application, how can I do that? Some years ago I solved this issue with Java / JSP opening into an output streaming the file, how can I do the same with ASP.NET and VB.NET? there is another way to solve my issue?
This is how I organized my application:
C:Webapp -> Webapplication
emoteserversharedfolder -> shared area
The owner of IIS process is the only user that can write / read the shared area.
