I'm looking at an asp.net application, i notice that there are assemblies defined into two places. In web.config there is configuration/system.web/compilation/assemblies/add elements. In the project file there are references setup under the Project/ItemGroup/Reference elements.
I was wondering, what is the difference between assemblies/references added in either location?
This doesn't happen when I create the site in my local drive. Is there a workaround to this. Even if I add the missing parts, I keep getting the same error.
I would like to select an element that is in the same TR as another element I found with a selector. The selector itself: $("input[name='sMessageValue']","#messageTable") Now I have this element and got its value I would like to find a checkbox located in the same TR, i tried this as starting point : $(this).(':parent').val(). But seems not the right thing to do.

Now I am having certain problems.
1. Visual Studio 2010 hangs when I try to use ToolBox.
2. Intellisense for asp.net controls is not working.
I have tried replacing web.config file (frm backup) , tried to debug - it doesnt show anything.
All other websites are working alright. Have problem with only one of the websites.
I upgraded from VS 2008 to VS 2010 and now the AJAX elements are not recognised by the source code editor, e.g. UpdatePanel, ScriptManager, etc. I get warnings in VS and no intellisense for those elements. When I run the site, all the AJAX controls work OK though.
I have seen some other posts on how to get this working ... however none of them seem to be concerned with case where you have sublcassed the GridView as your own custom server control.I am attempting to set these properties to get the GridView to render a thead element but I continually get a null reference exception. I am using dotnetCHARTING: the dll is installed in the GAC and referenced in my web.config (all versions appear to match). The project has a reference to the dll.
The site code compiles ok, but all aspx pages using the charting library complain that the Chart tag does not exist (warning that it might be a compile error). The aspx pages do not render the charts.

Just to be sure.. ive added a GridView and i was wondering if it was normal that it is generated as a floating element? Because, i had to use a clear: both after in order to write on the next line.. cause the text was displayed at the right of the GridView even with a <br>.
I am trying pull a table from a sql datasource which is very wide. And therefore, I want the pager element (i.e Prev and Next) links to be left aligned. But when I try to add the "align attribute, it says not permissible attribute for pager.
Is it even possible to do that or do I have to stick with centered pager?
So I thought that you could use id="name" and access this just like an ASP control such as <ASP:Checkbox
or <ASP:Label etc. My code continues to caugh and state object not set to an instance of an object when I uncheck my checkbox

I converted a forms website into an application and everything has been working just fine until now. I keep getting the green squiggly lines and the error that Element 'X' is not a known element. This is on almost every element, Gridview, Label, Update Panel, Hyperlink Field, Bound Field, etc...
so ajax and asp are viable prefixes. The very odd thing is that it is only happening on a few user controls, all other user controls are fine and the errors never show up. I have tried rebooting and everything and nothing seems to fix it. All masterpages, web paages, and about 90% of the user controls are fine, its only on a few user controls and super annoying!

I've tried several variations (EVAL, BIND, specifying the container and not specifying the container),
none of which gives the expected results; OnClientClick="DeleteKeyRow=12345"
If I add a label and set the text to: <%# dataBinder.Eval(Container.dataItem, "idx_mstrWord") %> I get a number which is what I should but if I try to get it to embed it so my cleint script can work with the data all I get is binding command.
What am I doing wrong? I really don't want to have to kludge around with some hidden field and then have to search through the grid to get at this data key. I need this key on the client side in order to provide additional details in my confirmation popup modal.
I have a templated control embedding a checkbox in a GridView I have an event on the checkbox which has a loop that pulls ALL of the checked checkboxes and the associated value. I only want to pull the datavalue of the checkbox that I just checked but the properties/methods associated with that checkbox event are not giving me any sort of index or item.value from which to do this.
i have gridview and having few rows. each rows have checkbox,textbox,combo in each column. how can i loop through gridview using jquery and access each elements in rows in loop for collection the value at client side by jquery.
