Cannot Access Website From The Internet Only From Localhost?
Mar 27, 2011
I have installed teampulse http://www.telerik.com/team-productivity-tools.aspx community. I add in bindings my domain name with port 9898 like it is with localhost. I can connect through localhost but not throuh the domain
iam using c#,asp.net and iis, i want to simulate slow internet connection on my pc for testing my app. is it possible i can control bandwidth of iis. System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(someDuration); in c# file.
A project I own was just moved from an older server to a new one, and in the process of moving the web folder, re-deploying the SSRS reports, restoring the database, configuring IIS, etc... I have lost the ability to view the Microsoft Chart Controls that are embedded in the SSRS reports, that are then displayed by a Microsoft.ReportViewer.
I could view them both locally and remotely (via the internet) on the old server. I can view them if I preview the SSRS report in Visual Studio. The report displays fine, only missing all the embedded charts. I can still view them locally through the web browser, just not from the internet.
I tried giving permissions to the ChartImageHandler temp storage folder, but it didn't work.
I'm getting the Javascript error: Error: ClientReport380ec8ca0c294a809e9986c1bef9db1c is undefined
I've created one web application in ASP.NET - 2.0 Now, I want to deploy it in my localhost itself Is it posible to do so, if yes How it can be achive without having server myself
What files all go to the site? Somewhere I read that source code is not necessary to post to the site. I use VS 2010. I wonder what files go to the site and how to install website from localhost on the server?
im developing a web app in asp.net. it works fine when i run it from visual webdeveloper. however when i run it from localhost i get the following error:
Server Error in '/zoo_webservices' Application.
The SELECT permission was denied on the object 'Zoo', database 'zoo_network', schema 'dbo'.
If I am currently using membership as a localhost, what will happen when I "publish" and "build" my website and upload it? Do I have to follow specific steps, how would I connect to the "ASP.NET Administration Tools"?
How to access report services from localhost on my mahcine? Is there any web interface provided for SQL Server Reporting Services 2008? If so how can i do that and what is the URL?
I have the following problem, I make a web site when I run this website (locally) I get the correct data (for example I have a set of cities according to the city selection, I get the required data), but when I publish the web site and try it on line (I get incorrect data under the same conditions I tried before locally). I don't know what is the problem, I need to trace the code online (debug the code on line) to know where the problem. Is there any suggestions how to treat case like this, code works in correct manner locally but fails sometimes online? I use (https) online. I use static variable (supposed not to be changed) but online the value of this variable is changing and make this problem.
I ahve a gridview and itemtemplate in which I have an URL field from the database. When I clicl on this URL, it should open in another browser the URL that we clicked on.
I am new to the web development.I have built my website in visual studio 2008 using Sql server 2008 as backend. Now I want to know the whole process of deploying the website in some web domains and as well as my database to some database domain.I didn't purchase any domain till now.I want to know about web hosting as well.
What are the things to be done before hosting the website in internet server? All kinds of testing and defect fixing work are over for the website which is currently hosted in intranet server. We have the server informations for hosting the website and also the database details. We also have the list of third party controls/softwares which should be installed before going live!! What else to be done? The website is developed using Visual Studio 2008, SQL server 2008, ASP.Net framework 3.5 and C# language.
I need to upgrade a ASP.NET website for IE8. it works fine in IE6, but not in IE8. I don't want to run it in any backward compatibility mode. I would like to make any code changes that are required to make it fully compliant with IE8/Firefox. what is the best and/or easiest way to do that? is it just a case of going through each of the things that are broken and fixing them one by one or is there a more efficient way to fix these issues (some kind of utility??).
when I launched my site within Internet Explorer 9 I began receiving script error messages. I read the support for Internet Explorer and found out that because some sites are designed for older browsers there'll be compatibility issues until the sites are updated for Internet Explorer 9.
to the Global.asax file to deal with the issue. The errors I received were from IE9.
EDIT: The errors were fixed but I want to know if there is an alternative method to making a website compatible with IE9? Also what are the differences between the way IE8 interprets Javascript code and IE9?
We have a requirement of using SSRS for rendering the reports using ReportViewer control. We are aware of the fact that SSRS requires Windows Authentication, but my requirement is to provide access to all the users stored in a database table who provide valid credentials to access the SSRS report via web page and report viewer cotrol.
We are following the below steps.
1) Create a dummy windows level user say "dummy".
2) Provide "Browser" permissions to the "dummy" user.
3) Set Impersonation = true for the "dummy" user in the web.config file of the custom website that uses the ReportViewer control.
4) Follow all the required steps to configure the reportviewer control for accessign the SSRS report
After following all the above steps we are successfully able to access the SSRS report on the internet facing website without any Windows authentication popup.
P.S. We dont want to implement a Custom extension for implementing forms authentication.
I have been creating a web site over the past year that has been used as an appplication for the company I work for to allow remote and local users to update data. It has been working ok but I want to see if there is a better way to do what I need to.
issue is that the remote sites are all on satellite internet access and the latency and bandwith are hurting us. I have looked at some thrid party options such as Gizmox WebGui but I would like to explore other options.
Is it possible to create a VB application with VS 2010 that would allow users to update data from the remote sites? The only people using the application would be company employees and I can update the program during the evenings if I make any changes during the day. My thoughts are that the amount of internet traffic would be data engages and that would solve the bandwidth issue and therefore mitigate the latency issue somewhat since there would be less traffic.
