I have a page that is used to delete multiple records....i tried attaching a confirm extender
to the delete button....but it the problem is when i click Ok on the confirm button UI...it deletes
only one record even if i have selected multiple records for deletion

I have a gridview that shows all data from a table. DataNames includes KeyId, which is a Primary Key.Yet when I try to delete a record, nothing happens, the page appears to performa refresh but the record is still there.Edit does not work either. I used the wizard to build all of the queries, they look okay. But I cannot figure out why they are not working.

View 2 RepliesI have created a ListView with a SQL DataSource. It has Item Template, Alternate Item Template, Insert Item Template, Layout Template, Edit Item Template & Select Item Template. There are delete buttons in the Item Template, Alternate Item Template and Select Item Template. The Delete command is

which seems correct. I have not selected Use Optimistic Consurrency when I configured the data source. When I click on the Delete button, it deletes the selected record and the record after. THe ClienNoteTypeCode is a varchar(4) field and all codes are unique. It deletes both records in SQL Server when the button is clicked, but one one is deleted on the web page until I refresh the page and then both are deleted.
I have bounded my GridView to an ObjectDataSource. I have set a delete method for this ObjectDataSource. Now how can I delete my GridView's records with enable Deleting?

Currently users can select multiple records and hit the order button and everything has worked well. Now I have multiple pages in my gridview, and if a user selects a few records from the first page, and then goes to the second page, all the records (checked checkboxes) disappear from the first page.

I have two tables with a foreign key constraint how can I delete rows from both of them in one transaction? linq to SQL seems to call my deletes in the wrong order. Is there somewhere I can check and make sure the constraint is recognized properly by linq to SQL??

I'm looking for ideas on deleting data from the multiple SQL tables with LINQ (C#).
My existing solution does the following:
1. DeleteAllOnSubmit( Subset of the data from the child table)
2. DeleteAllOnSubmit( Subset of the data from another child table)
3. DeleteAllOnSubmit( Data from the parent table)
4. CommitChanges()
All this resides within a single method, which makes it ugly and not re-usable.
I have considered the following alternatives, but I decided not to use them:
1. Cascade delete on the tables.
2. Do a join on all tables from which I will remove the data, but I'm not sure yet whether I could pass a join query to DeleteAllOnSubmit().
3. Write stored procedure(s) to delete data from each table. I don't have the time to implement this due to a large number of tables and the time constraints.
I have a repeater which binds a set of data. Within this repeater is a column with various controls for updating, deleting, etc. These are image buttons which fire an onclick event such as "DeleteRecord". All this does is fire a stored procedure, passing in the ID of the record to delete from the CommandArgument of the object.
This works wonderfully... except for one rather huge problem. Once you delete a record, if you refresh the page, the record where the first deleted record used to be gets deleted. For instance... if I have 4 records

2 Record2
3 Record3
4 Record4
and I delete record 2... The page reloads with (which is fine):
1 Record1
3 Record3
4 Record4
...if I then hit refresh...
1 Record1
4 Record4
I assume this is because the erroneously deleted object (record3) is now in the same hierarchical place as the old object used to be and .net therefore doesn't know the difference, the page refreshes and fires the onlick event, grabbing out the command argument of the new object and deletes based on the ID as obtained from the commandargument of the new object. This is obviously a huge problem, if a client did this it would destroy data erroneously and I'm at a loss here. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I'm not sure if there is a better way to go about doing things or not. If there isn't, I need some sort of way to tell the page not to execute the event or to cross reference the ID of the object that is intended for deletion against the object itself...

EDIT Wrapped a LinkButton around it because I have some jquery code in here as well which stops the page execution to wait for user confirmation. Pressing "ok" continues page execution.

I am trying to insert about 100,000 in my SQL Server database. It is really slow when I create 100,000 separate queries, so I tried to insert all these records in one query, it worked for the first few thousands records but then it threw me a timeout error.
What would be the fastest way to insert multiple records into database?

Im getting multiple records displayed and they arent descending in order correctly when I insert on button click.
The text is added to the database and it is displayed but I get two sets of records displayed on the page and the text from the insert is pushed down to the bottom of the first multiple record.
How can I correct this so I only get one return on the page and the comment(text from db) is set to desc.

View 7 RepliesI have the following a Master Table that has some Id and a child table with multiple records for that Id, i created a Main rdlc report in asp.net and a sub report, i am having trouble on displaying the sub report as multiple times (i.e. for reach record in the child table for a particular Main Id there should be a sub report with the information related to the child tabke), i was able to display it repeated but it repeated the first record of the child table.

We have to select a record based on which we have to open a new page which will display the details of the selected record.
Now issue lies in the second part, which is:
User can select multiple records and new page open should display details for both the selected reocrds one after other.
That is, first details of first selcted record will be displayed and right after that details of second selected record should be displayed.
