Contextmenu - HTML Code Window Constant Name?
Jun 21, 2010
I am trying to place a right-click menu addin for the asp.net html window.The one I currently have works on the C#/Vb code window...just not in the html code window.
commandBars = (CommandBars)applicationObject.CommandBars;
codeCommandBar = commandBars["Code Window"];
That would get me the context menu (right-click menu) of the non-html code window.But what constant name would get me the html code window context menu?

We are using div tag in aspx and javascript functions to show context menu in our web application. In IE6 the sub menus in the context menu are getting displayed at the correct x and y coordinates what we have hard-coded in our application. But in IE7 and IE8, the sub menus are getting overlapped and in some machines the menus are going behind the window. Can any one please tell what is wrong or any other alternatives to display conext menu and submenu?

I want to receive value from parent's control to popup window's code behind. for example
<asp:RadioButton ID="rdoRate" GroupName="CouponType" value="0" runat="server" checked/>Rate
<asp:RadioButton ID="rdoAmount" GroupName="CouponType" value="1" runat="server"/>dollar
and recive selected radiobutton's value from popup window's code behind. My Solution is make querystring and pass the value.
for example >
window.open(url + ?selectedRadioVal=" + $("#~~checkedradiovalue~~) .. blah balh)
and receive the value by Reqeust.Querystring.Get().
But I can't send very long string. (maybe the url length is limited, right? Is there any good way to solve?

I've got a Jquery function that I wrote which blacks out the screen after a certain amount of inactivity, creates a pop-up that allows the user to click a button to stay logged in, and logs them out (closing the application window) if they do not respond in time.
The environment is ASP.NET (VB). We don't technically use master pages, but we do have a parent page in which our header, footer and nav reside, and my Jquery code is called from that window, loaded via an IFrame.My problem is that if one is working in a child window, the parent window doesn't recognize that the system is in use, and will automatically engage at the allocated time.I've tried everything under the sun I can think of and nothing works properly. My event handler is working, and it does call the parent window function, but the timer is not being reset.
I have this function in the parent window:
<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function window.reportChildActivity() {
SESSION_ALIVE = true; [code]....

In my application I store a html code in a string, for example:
string myHtml = "<html><body><input type ='text' value='hello'/></body></html>";
How can I preview this html in another window pressing some button?
<asp:Button ID="PreviewButton" runat="server" Text="Preview" OnClick="PreviewButton_Click"/>
I've tried :
protected void PreviewButton_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
myHtml = "<html><body><input type ='text' value='hello'/></body></html>";
Response.Write(myHtml);
Response.End();
}
And it works, the preview it's opened but in the same window.

I was playing around with ASP.NET Web Parts which has a "drop down" div. It's all the way to the right of the page. When I click to bring it up, it goes off the window. Usually anything off the viewable area will trigger the bottom scrollbars. How is this possible?
Edit: It's Internet Explorer 8. Below is the markup with some context. The relevant one I think is id=WebPart_wp774658725VerbsMenu. By default it doesn't display. When you click on the td/span Verbs/span VerbsPopup (it could be any), it shows the "dropdown". In Developer Tools I don't see any JavaScript attached to those elements, but if I debug it I see it running some.
<TD class=partTitle>
<TABLE style="WIDTH: 100%" border=0 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0>
<TBODY>

What is the best way to show the server-side generated HTML (full page) into a new popup window? It should be triggered upon clicking a button (causing a postback to the server).
Edited:
The HTML content are dynamically generated in the code behind and the content is full page (<html> ... </html>). Upon clicking a button on the web page, I would like to get the generated html content and pass it to the browser and show it in a new popup window. The content will be the final result (UI) not HTML tags.

how to generate HTML code from the code behind?
I would like to build a form that generate an html code inside a for loop.
I will let the user enter the photo name and No. of photos
Then I will generate an HTML code like this:
<a href="http://www.mzinj.org/images/gallery/Photo%20(1).jpg" target="_blank"> <img src="http://www.mzinj.org/images/gallery/Photo%20(1).jpg" alt="" width="345" height="247" /> </a> <br /> <a href="http://www.mzinj.org/images/gallery/Photo%20(2).jpg" target="_blank">
<img src="http://www.mzinj.org/images/gallery/Photo%20(2).jpg" alt="" width="345" height="247" /> </a> <br /> <a href="http://www.mzinj.org/images/gallery/Photo%20(3).jpg" target="_blank"> <img src="http://www.mzinj.org/images/gallery/Photo%20(3).jpg" alt=""
width="345" height="247" /> </a> <br />
depending on the No. of the photos the code will be duplicated in the loop
Then I will display the result of the loop in label or in a textarea to let the user copy it any where
The problem is that while compiling my code it considers the HTML code as a part of the behind file and gives errors on the single quote, the double quote and on the parentheses

I have a need to display our application widget within a third-party website (think things like GetSatisfaction, UserVoice and other feedback widgets that people use). What is the safest and most reliable way to do this? I can think of some criteria and issues already: The code needs to be framework and language independent. Even though my app is ASP.NET, the 'launcher' will be run in any HTML page that belongs to our customers. So I suppose that limits me to HTML and Javascript only. The function needs to be very easy to call. So that implies a <script scr='mywebsite.com/widget.aspx' ...> as the sole thing to give to my customer. There is to be no use of CSS. Or rather, I can style things, but without a CSS file, as that could pull in styles that conflict with what my customer is running. There must be no use of libraries such as JQuery. I mention this because I can imagine problems if we pull in a JQuery version that differs from our customer's, thus ruining their site with our code.

I can't write in english well, but I must try to have an answer for my problem.I have a problem that I have not found a solution, regarding the integration of C # code in the HTML code .aspxI want to do a loop on the
<ajaxToolkit:TabPanel of <ajaxToolkit:TabContainer to have several tabs by a few existing data in a DB table.
Here is a moceau of my code:

This code gave me this error:
Message d'erreur de l'analyseur: 'TabPanel_<%= idMagasin %>' n'est pas un identificateur valide.Translation: Message parser error: 'TabPanel_ <% = idMagasin%>' is not a valid identifier.I removed idmagasin like this:
[Code]....
System.ArgumentException: Une entrée avec la même clé existe déjà .
Translation:
System.ArgumentException: An entry with the same key already existsThe result is that I found a great problem to insert a C # code in the HTML code .aspx unlike others languages like PHP.

I'm using VWD 2010 Express and have found that when I change a property like AutoPostBack from within the property window the corresponding tag (<asp:TextBox...>) was not updated with the property change to the tag.
Is there a setting that I can change in the VWD properties that will enable changes through the property window for a control to automatically update the HTML tag for that control?

I'm working on a asp.net website developed a few years ago by other developers. They've used a poup-up window which they open from the main window. I want to get rid of this popup window and replace it by a floating div instead.
Ideally I want to re-use all the code of the popup window, put it in a asp.net user control, and place the user control in a div.
My question is, what is the best way to do it ? Should I add a hidden div with the user control on every pages from which the popup used to be call ?
Or is there a way to create the floating div on the fly whenever the user clicks on some trigger (a button or a linkbutton) ?

The examples given below could make little sense, but it is because I am focusing on syntax. Let's say I have such C# code:
public static class Foo
{
public const string Bar = "hello world.";
}
Now, I would like to use Foo.Bar constant in ASP.Net instead of typing each time "hello world.". So I used this syntax:
<p><%= Foo.Bar %></p>
It works. It works also in such cases:
<p>"<%= Foo.Bar %>"</p>
<p class="<%= Foo.Bar %>">the weird, nonsense example</p>
So, it works with quotes too. However I have also cases, when quotes get higher priority:
<custom:Header runat='server' Text="<%= Foo.Bar %>"/>
( header is a custom control -- it simply adds some css by default and position ). In such case quotes marks have higher priority and entire text is sucked as-is, in effect I get header with text
<%= Foo.Bar %>
So, my question is -- what is the syntax to get the value of C# constant, no matter what (IOW -- with highest priority)? Edits:
<custom:Header runat='server' Text="<%# Foo.Bar %>"/>
(note hash instead of equal sign) does not work as well.

I am using gridview to bind my data since GridView could not load more than 2000 records and also it takes long time to load the data. I decided to go with XSLT transformation. Here is the problem .... I am able to transform 6290 kb of data ( into a html table formated like grid view ) with in 5 seconds but to assign that HTML table back to the innerHTML of a div tag is not responding...
What is the best method to push large amount data(HTML Code) from c# into aspx web page?
PS: I used DIV innerHtml and also Literal Control but both are very slow if the size of the table increases.
