Css - Datagrid Borders Appear Different In Other Browsers?
Aug 4, 2010
I realize that pages are just going to look different in varying browsers, but mine is looking awesome in Chrome, ok in mozilla, and pretty bad in IE 7.
Sadly, most people using my page will use IE.
My issue is with the borders. I have a redish border around the rows of the grid. In chrome they all appear as they should. In Firefox the bottom and top of each row are working, as well as the right and left of the outside columns, but all the inner columns do not have vertical borders.
In IE, all the borders are missing. There are simply white gaps between my columns and rows.
EDIT:
<asp:GridView ID="ProductsGrid" runat="server"
AutoGenerateColumns="False" Height="323px"
style="margin-top: 23px; margin-left: 0px;" BackColor="White"
BorderStyle="None" BorderWidth="0px" CellPadding="4"

I'm trying to dynamically generate a report in a table where the borders are different on each side of a cell or row, but can't figure out how. The TableRow, TableCell, and Table objects each have a BorderStyle property, but it seems to apply to the entire border rather than just one side. Can this be done without nesting tables?
For my case, I'd like a solid border around the first two rows of a table (because the first row has a cell spanning two rows), and a solid border around each subsequent row.

On my website I have implemented an asp:menu control which works fine in Firefox. Unfortunately, for some reason, the bottom border is missing in submenues in IE. You can see the problem here: [URL] Do you have any suggestions on how to solve the problem?

I am working on ASP.NET 4.0 application.I want to bind the data in a datatable to a grid control and i want to do some formatting. I want to merge the cells or hide the cell border in the first three columns (Merge every 5 cells in a column). And Vertical align the text to center. Also i need row border at the end of every 5 rows.
For example, If i am binding 10 rows to the Grid i need row border only at the end of 5th and 10th row. And merge every five cells only in the first three columns. All the other columns should not be changed. I also want to change the background color of the cells in all rows based on the value in that cell. How to achieve this in ASP.NET 4.0 and which control can be used to display in this format?

I have 2 grids gvParent & gvChild I would like to filter gvChild when a row is selected in gvParent the linking fields are contractNo
I added a column for selecting:
<asp:TemplateField ShowHeader="False">
<ItemTemplate>
<asp:LinkButton ID="LinkButton1" runat="server" CausesValidation="False" CommandName="Select"
OnClick="LinkButton1_Click" Text="Select"></asp:LinkButton>
</ItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
I know how to handle the filtering of the grid (create a criteria and set to rowfilter of the dataview) But, I dont know how to get the value of the column of the selected row.

Simply put... I want to duplicate the example found at this link, in VB.net rather than C#.
[URL]
I would like the selectedvalue of the dropdown to display additional data base on its selection in multiple text boxes.
I have tried using the DropDownList OnSelectedIndexChanged property, within a DataGrid EditiItemTemplate, but I cannot retrieve data from the selection. (AutoPostBack is "True"). I can however use a button onclick event to fire a "prre-defined" selection value.

I have several columns and I want to have borders on the left and on the right of some like this:| column1 column2 | column3 column4 |If I specify the border in the ItemStyle, it shows on both side and won't render the absence of column between columns 1 and 2 and column 3 and 4.

I have some tables in my asp.net mvc application for layout purposes. Even though I usually use divs for most things, in some cases tables make most sense because they already have exactly the layout I'm after in these cases.
The only problem is, as far as I know the borders are supposed to be invisible unless you specify a width and style for the borders. But they aren't... They are rather vague, yes, but there are still light blue borders around each cell. What is that and how do I get rid of them? (Funny thing is I don't remember having seen this before when I used tables, which was a while ago).
I also tried specifically setting the border to 0px on both table and td, but that didn't work either...

I am trying to use domain masking to simulate multi-tenant access to my application. The plan right now is to read the subdomain portion of the domain ie: [URL] and load settings from the DB using that name.
The issue I'm having is that request.url is getting the request url - NOT the url in the browser.
So if I have [URL] forwarding to [URL] with masking, request.url is grabbing the latter, simply because of how masking works, i assume - by putting the masked site inside of a frame.
Is it even possible to read the url in the browsers address bar?

I am designing ASP.net Web pages and not sure if this would be the right way to do this.I am designing the web sites that will be accessed from either regular computers or mobile devices (phone).I was thinking to detect at very first page that whether users are coming from mobile browser or regular browser and direct to appropriate pages. So for mobile users, create/display separate UIs (rearrange controls to fit on mobile device) and for regular users, create/display separate UIs. The backend functionalities will be same, but just the UIs. Therefore, in this case I will create two separate projects in same solution, one for mobile UIs, and other one for regular UIs, but same code behinds.

So I'd like to redirect mobile users to a different page. But instead of trying to detect any number of mobile browsers, I'd just like to see if the user is using IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or Opera; all other users go to the mobile site. My biggest problem is detecting regular Safari from mobile Safari.

Upon my study in ASP.net i came across something very weird. Earlier this day my application ran fine in Firefox and Internet Explorer.
When i now try to debug my application it wont pop-up in both. When looked more deeply i saw that it didnt load the right port, is there a way to fix this so i dont have to check and change it manualy all the time?

i'm programming an application where an action is done if i access with a version equal or higher than other and another action if i access with a lower version; but the problem is that the lines to indicate the versions doesn´t work. The code is the following:
[Code]....
As you can see, an action should be done if the version is the 9.0 or higher and other if it is lower, but these lines doesn't work and only works the detection of the web browsers (no the versions of them, action that doesn't works).
