i have a table that has some columns and rows i want this table to have borders that are visible inside it i want every column an row to be closed in borders how can i do that?

The tricky part I have to perform is to copy rows( only t1c2 -> t2c2, t1c3->t2c4 columns) untill I see NA(Not applicable string) in t1c3 to Table2 putting (10 in t2c1, 1 in t2c3, current date in t2c5 columns for all rows).
I'm trying to dynamically generate a report in a table where the borders are different on each side of a cell or row, but can't figure out how. The TableRow, TableCell, and Table objects each have a BorderStyle property, but it seems to apply to the entire border rather than just one side. Can this be done without nesting tables?
For my case, I'd like a solid border around the first two rows of a table (because the first row has a cell spanning two rows), and a solid border around each subsequent row.
Iam working on an asp.net application.Recently client come with new requirement. Need a control which is similar to table or like gridview with rows and columns.It should allow user to enter data in the cells. And when the user press tab it should go to next cell and finally if we press enter key, it should validate the data entered in the current row and if data is correct it should create a new empty next row(like entering data manually in an sqlserver table). How can i implement this functionality? Can i use gridview / javascript to implement this functionality.

View 1 RepliesI have an asp:Table and around the mid point of the table there is a DDL with values 2-5. What I want to do is add the selected amount of rows using AJAX right after the table row that has the DDL in it. I know how to dynamicly crate the rows, the info in the rows, and how to use AJAX to make things. Problem is I can not put the ContentTemplate tag inbetween the asp:TableRow which would mark the location I want the dynamic rows to start being added. I did some searching on here but most posts I find start with making the table from code and not the asp:Table tag

am just reading one row in every loop and add that row in to another table object, why is 'myTable' loosing loosing one row in each loop?
I am trying to delete or add rows in a table but since the table is in an update panel,upon deletion the row goes away and then comes back.I have tried using return false but it does not seem to work in IE or FF.

I have table a and would like update table a whose values from table b, but not update all rows at table a. Only update record ID in table a match record ID in tableC.

I only have 12 a.ID match TableC, but above query update whole TableA.
How to only update 12 record at TableA from TableB?
I have two possible header rows for a DataTable that I build dynamically. Setting the value of a cell works fine. Adding the cell to a TableRow works fine. The problem comes in where I have to build a second possible header row that uses the same cell.
An example is below.
trHead1 = New TableRow
trHead2 = New TableRow
tcCalc = New TableCell
tcCalc.Text = "Rates"
trHead1.Cells.Add(tcCalc)
trHead2.Cells.Add(tcCalc)
As soon as I make the second row add the cell, the cell disappears from the first row. This really doesn't make sense to me but that seems to be the way it is. If there is a work around other than duplicating the lines;
tcCalc = New TableCell
tcCalc.Text = "Rates"

View 3 RepliesI have some tables in my asp.net mvc application for layout purposes. Even though I usually use divs for most things, in some cases tables make most sense because they already have exactly the layout I'm after in these cases.
The only problem is, as far as I know the borders are supposed to be invisible unless you specify a width and style for the borders. But they aren't... They are rather vague, yes, but there are still light blue borders around each cell. What is that and how do I get rid of them? (Funny thing is I don't remember having seen this before when I used tables, which was a while ago).
I also tried specifically setting the border to 0px on both table and td, but that didn't work either...

I'm creating a table in an asp.net code behind dynamically, and I want to have a footer row that only has 2 cells. The first should span all the columns in the table-1. Is there some way other then keeping track of the # of columns in the table manually for me to set the colspan to be # of all the columns in the table-1? Preferably a HTML or CSS solution?

Just started learning ASP.Net about three days ago and I have been ploughing through the fantastic tutorial videos. I have got to an issue with something that is demonstrated in this video: from 07:05 to 07:56.

The author changes the table row style to include a bottom border by changing the <tr> tag. I have tried this with no success and so I have been Googling and all of the posts I have found say that you cannot change a table row border. This does seem to be the case as I cannot get a change in the border of a table row to show, however it does work perfectly in the video I am linking to above.
the video is in MSWD 2005 and I amin WSWD 2010 but as these are producing HTML (and pretty basic HTML at that) I can't see that the versions would be an issue.
