When a marker is clicked, I'd like to display a popup.
this is easy, my problem is that the popup needs to be updated from the database before and the popup has some links that should be inside an UpdatePanel to avoid refresh.
I can use the marker function to display a popup (with a given html) how to get the html with the updatepanel .
I thougt about using the ajax popup control but I don't know how to position it on the marker.
i have a form in which i need to show designation name say s/w developer on the basis of design code taken from the other table. there are act 2 tables designation & emp . designation has its id & name both and emp has all the other fields ie emp id, salary , name, designation, and the other.
I open a popup window by client code. Now I want to do some calculation on this popup window & if it success then I want to save the calculation result in a session variable and close the window. I mean I want to click a button on popup window, it will do some calculation on server side and if it success the it will store the calculation result in a session variable and close the popup window.
I have a page which contains an ASP UpdatePanel, and within the UpdatePanel, there is a button styled using Dojo with a dojoType of dijit.form.Button. When the UpdatePanel updates, the button loses all of the CSS styling, so it reverts back to an ordinary looking html button. I'm presuming this is because the dojo methods don't get called on a partial page postback, causing the button to get redrawn by the server and posted to the page, and dojo not being told about any of this. Also, the "dojo/method" script is no longer associated with the button after the update. This is the button:
This is wrapped in a standard ASP UpdatePanel with an ASP LinkButton causing the update (also located within the UpdatePanel, so nothing is required in the <Triggers> tag). Is there any way of making dojo aware of the partial page update? So that the button keeps it's style and dojo is still able to attach the method to the button.
I have a gridview that displays items awaiting supervisor approval. The supervisor clicks the Review button and a modal window should popup with the results of a database query on the record. I am using a dataketname param on the grid. Here are the ASPX elements, The gridview and the modalpopup code

I am using mpeApproval.Show() in the codebehind but it isn't firing. I've been at this literally all day and am feeling pretty stupid at the moment. Have I provided enough for you to make a determination?
I have JQuery confirmation dialog function that called by server side code (C#)how to get its return value of that function? in this case the return value would be either Yes or No.I called it in button clicked event as below:
Code: protected void btn1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string message = "Message from server side, please select yes or no"; ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "Popup", "ShowConfirmation('" + message + "');", true); }

I need to make table rows clickable and can be catched by both js and .net server side .
how can I use Request.form to solve this issue? since I've created functions for js part .
The reason why I want to fire sever side event, because I use JS to add option (item) to an asp:ddl in an updatepanel, it will cause error or lose the new option by doing a postback fired by other buttons.

I dont know how to make it pop without user action (like clicking on a link:p)anyway this is not a must . if anyone can give me some good tips or guides or example how i can do this i'd be happy!
Suppose I'm building a StackOverflow clone using webforms ASP.NET and jQuery. The Question page has a question, several answers, and comments under each. Requirements:Users can post new answers and comments, and edit existing ones, without postbacks. No UpdatePanels; the AJAX calls retrieve just the JSON they need, not HTML fragments. The page loads with all existing answers and comments in place (no javascript needs to run to read the page).
What I'm trying to figure out is how to do this without having to maintain two sets of markup (one that's bound on the client using some form of jQuery templating, and one that's bound on the server using traditional WebForms).
in a form i have a buttoin, when click both OnclientClick and postback should happen. on clicking the "Email" button a client side "mailto" tag should do the work and pull a new message window on the client's machine.
whereas, the email addresses should be invoked by the post back. so , when clicking the button the server side post should happen and on return the client side script should be invokded with the values read during post back, and populate all the email addresses.
i need know how to first do a server hit take the values and then execute the client script with those values without using AJAX
If I have a standard HTML textbox: I can retrieve the value using Request.Form. But how do I go about populating this textbox from the server-side? I tried Request.Form["txtTest"] = "blah"; but got a readonly error.

I have 2 update panels where the server-side button (in a jQuery accordion) in the first update panel should update the second update panel. When the button is clicked, jQuery hides the accordion and displays a results div. This all works fine client side to be fair to IE. The server-side onclick event does not fire though in IE. In Firefox it does! The first update panel is displayed below, here the "btnGenerateReport" event should fire server side.
[Code]....
To add confusion ... if I comment out '$accordion.toggle($effect);' lines then the second update panel does get updated.I'm not sure what other information I can give here. I'm stumped as to why this works with Firefox and not IE.
