I'm stuck getting a value from a textbox in code behind. I have tried
Code:
string s2 = txtEmployeeNr.Text;
and
Code:
string s1 = Server.HtmlEncode(txtEmployeeNr.Text);
And just get an empty string.
I have used the last one before with good results.

I am building a Web Content form in which the user enters some data in asp:TextBoxes, and presses submit to store the data in the database.
I am using an Upadate Panel, in which I have put the afore mentioned asp:TextBoxes. Is there a way to set TextBox.Text = string.Empty after the submit?
Note that I have implemented code, which sets my TextBox.Text = string.Empty in my aspx.cs file, which of course does not work since I am using the update panel with an AsyncPostBackTrigger...

View 1 RepliesI have a sql database that on some field will have a empty string/field. I am using a Datalist to display my results. How do I not make the labels that are empty not display? Currently if the field is empty it will leave a space there which my goal is if the field is empty do not leave a white space instead move the other colunms up.
View 2 RepliesI am working with a gridview that pulls data from a SQL database based on selections in dropdown lists. The source table has six columns for attributes of the selection, but depending on what is chosen, there could be anywhere from one to six of those that are empty (all null values). When the column is empty, I would like to have it hidden so the page is less clunky and confusing.
I've searched around for an answer for the past couple days, but what I have found so far is either related to hiding columns that you know are empty which I will not know or removing them in the SQL code which I think doesn't work if the column is called for in the gridview code and doesn't exist in the query.
I have an array of a server control type, and what I would like to do is check if there any elements set inside the array. How can you check inside if for instance an array has no elements set inside or the array is empty or only one or two?
View 4 RepliesI make SqlDataSource1.DataBind(); with some parameters on button click,
then I'm working with a Grid onDataBound();
but if my SqlDataSource1 returns empty data I've got an error even if I'm trying to check if (GridView2.HeaderRow.Cells.Count != 0) so I guess I need to check it on SqlDataSource1 someway.

i'm trying to check for an empty cell in a gridview.
On the RowDataBound event I tried the following:
- if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(e.Row.Cells[2].Text.Trim()))
- if (String.IsNullOrEmpty(e.Row.Cells[2].Text))
- if (e.Row.Cells[2].Text == "")
None of them worked.
I'm using boundfields. I can't use a TemplateField with a label because I need to check for other stuff for that column in the RowDataBound event by doing e.Row.Cells[2].Text - that only works if I use boundfields.
How do I check if my value is empty AND Isnull? I need to check for both, using ISNULL is not enough because the data can change just so that it is empty.
