I am building an excel file using the OpenXml sdk 2.0. I am putting it in a memory stream and outputting it to the browser. The problem I am receiving is wiht IE 9 if I click Open it says "filename couldn't be downloaded". If I hit save/save as and save it to the filesystem, then open it, the file opens fine with no errors.
In Firefox regardless of if I use save or open the file when opened in excel says its corrupt.I already built the file by writing it to the filesystem first and that code works. Also since saving to desktop in IE lets me open the file, im assuming the problem has to be with the settings on the Response.BinaryWrite.
I have tried changing the buffer types, changing the content types to include "application/octet-stream", and tried using the extension/content type for office 2003 instead of 2007/2010...Here is my code
Code:
Dim byteArray As Byte()
Using mStream As New MemoryStream
Using spreadSheetDoc As SpreadsheetDocument = SpreadsheetDocument.Create(mStream, SpreadsheetDocumentType.Workbook)
Dim workBPart As WorkbookPart = spreadSheetDoc.AddWorkbookPart
Dim workSPart As WorksheetPart = workBPart.AddNewPart(Of WorksheetPart)()
Does anyone know if it is possible to measure when a file has been downloaded?
I place files for clients to download but there are two things I need to know. One is if the file has been downloaded at all at any point. Second is how many times the file has been downloaded. Can each file (usually but not always image files - sometimes pdfs) be tagged in some way to record what happens to it?
I am working on a web application and in ASp.Net using VB.net. The requirement is to create a csv file on the server and the user should be able to save the file on his machine. I am creating a csv file on the server and throwing the contents of the csv file to the user using Response.Write method. The problem I am facing is instead the csv file content, user is getting the html code of the page which he is accessing I wrote the following code in my aspx.vb :
strPhysicalPath = Server.MapPath("CSV/" & PathVirtual) appendFileContents(AppStartupPath, "strPhysicalPath : " & strPhysicalPath) Dim objFileInfo As System.IO.FileInfo objFileInfo = New System.IO.FileInfo(strPhysicalPath) Response.Clear()
How can I get the csv content in the file that is being downloaded by the user?
in my case. iam replacing some data in document and saving in client side. so itz automaticaly saving in thw client side(normally in the Temp folder). i want to get that full path from the client side.
At the time of file download process, teh IE thorws a dialog box asking the user open / save or cancel. How to disable the open option, i want only save or cancel. This file is a zip file. i don't want a open option, is it possible?
How to save a text into a specific folder of computer(in document) by default, when the user clicks yes(for,Do you want to save the file?) to save a file into his computer? If the folder doesnot exist create and save the textfile?
Recenently my ASP.Net Mvc 3 project stopped compiling and I have no idea why. It is giving me this error message. "Could not load file or assembly 'ProjectName.1' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)"
I am using file upload control. I Placed fileupload control inside update panel. I can upload the files up to 1 to 2 mb file only. I couldn't upload the file above 2MB. I dint mention specific size also..I am following simple code only. When I upload the above 2mb file ..Its not even going into button click event , Navigating some page and showing below message, Internet explorer cannot display the page, Most likely causes:
- You are not connected to the Internet. - The website is encountering problems. - There might be a typing error in the address.
To my work scenario I should capable of uploading 50 mb file . But I couldn't upload 5 mb file. I am copying my code below.
I changed some names of namespaces, assemblies in one of existing project (C# and ASP.NET). But when I try to debug it; I get this error. Could not load file or assembly 'HR' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040). I have replaced DFI with HR in the code.
I was working normally but now i'm getting this error: Could not load file or assembly 'App_Licenses, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The parameter is incorrect. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070057 (E_INVALIDARG)) I clean all my asp .net temporary files, rebuild the solution but nothing seems to work.
I have a application in which i have read the mail from outlook. its working fine in local pc . but when i deploy this application on server then it gives me error like: on deploy machine outlook version is office 2007. Could not load file or assembly 'Extensibility, Version=7.0.3300.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

When these occur, the sites will YSOD untill we recycle the application pool. The sites may run for days/weeks before this occurs, or it might happen twice within the hour. I have not been able to pinpoint this to any specific request/function in our system. In this case it points to itextsharp, but it randomly points to any assembly referenced by our application, both internal and external. Running caspol verifies that the DLL has full trust permissions:

Success Our application is running on three servers, two of them are on Server 2008 Web x64 while the third is running Server 2008 R2 Web x64, all have .NET 3.5 installed, no .NET 4.0 installations. The problem only occurs on the first two that are running 2008 non R2. Running depends.exe on all three servers gives equal results for the nonR2 servers:
My DLL is shown as x86 (compiled as AnyCPU, running in x64 w3wp), all other modules show as x64. Missing IESHIMS.DLL and LINKINFO.DLL - both of these seem to be red herrings according to Google. The third server shows the same, except it does not miss LINKINFO.DLL All servers are running IIS7 (7.5 for the R2 one) under a custom domain account that has been granted the necessary permissions:
aspnet_regiis -ga [user]
Load user profile is set to false on all three servers. I've tried setting this to true on one of the faulting servers, according to: [URL] By running processmonitor I can see that it's now using the C:UsersTEMPAppDataLocalTemp directory for various temp files - the other ones are not using any such directory. So far I'll let it run in this way to see if this changes anything. I'm in doubt however given that the third server is not exhibiting the problems, yet still has "Load user profile" set to the same value, false. I've also tried running Fuslogvw on all three servers, logging binding failures to disk. All three servers report the same binding errors for VJSharpCodeProvider and CppCodeProvider, but these seem to be normal as well and can be solved by not defining the DEBUG and TRACE constants during build. We're running about 500 websites on each server (identical, load balanced), of which 50 are under moderate load, the problem has arisen both under heavy load as well as under minimal load however.
Right now I'm waiting for the errors to happen again so I can hopefully see a pattern and determine whether "Load user profile" alleviates the issue. I don't understand how the lack of "Load user profile" would cause an issue like this? And even further, how it would seemingly work on R2 but not on plain 2008?
I've been tearing my hair out over this one, and hopefully it'll be something simple that I'm too thick to work out for myself. We've got a ASP.NET website (IIS7.5, Server 2008R2) that uses the wonderful DevExpress ASP modules. All was working fine until I had the bright idea of upgrading the modules from 10.1.4 to 10.1.7. Ever since, the site throws intermittent but regular errors that it:
Could not load file or assembly 'DevExpress.Data.v10.1, Version=10.1.4.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b88d1754d700e49a' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
All the .aspx files have similar register tags, e.g.:
I updated the VS2010 project using DevExpress's own upgrader utility. There is no reference to v10.1.4 anywhere in the code - I've checked the .aspx files, web.config etc - and the web server has all the latest .DLL's on too. I've even moved the site to a complete new, virgin server, yet the error still occurs. Specifying the subversion number and public key in the register tag doesn't make any different. I've iisreset'd, cleared out temporary files, rebooted etc, all to no avail. The really frustrating thing is the error isn't reproducible - sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
The full error is: Could not load file or assembly 'App_Web_xxxxxxxx, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where xxxxxxxx is the ASP.Net generated temp name. We are getting this error for a WCF service hosted within an ASP.Net application. The weird thing is that it happens very occasionally, independent of deployment changes... and when it does happen the service "breaks" for all subsequent requests. At the moment, the workaround for us at the moment is to delete the temporary assemblies from the application's folder in: %windir%Microsoft.NETFramework64v2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files The app is hosted in IIS7 on a win 2008 server, using .Net 3.5
I have a rather simple internal ASP.Net Website that has issues loading the Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data dll about once a week. Here is the Exception message:

Things of note:
A simple IIS Reset fixes the issue. We had the same code running on a single webserver with no problems. We then moved the site to two new, load balanced (using sticky sessions) webservers (all three Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition SP1). Now each of the load balanced webservers throw this exception about once a week just out of the blue. The only major difference I can think of, is I've installed the 4.0 .NET framework on the load balanced servers. The website is still running under ASP.NET 2.0 so I don't see how this would be an issue I've configured the indexing service to not search the "Temporary ASP.NET Files" folder, but it didn't help. We use the Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data dll everywhere on our site. Almost every single page uses our logic dll which in turn utilizes the EnterpriseLibrary dlls. While the errors where happening once, I even looked to see what processes were locking the dll in the "Temporary ASP.NET Files" folder, and it wasn't any different than the locks on the server that was working fine. Once the error starts, it errors every single time until an iisreset is performed.
I've tried deploying my asp.net app to a new server and I get this error:
Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Entity, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
Sure enough, System.Web.Entity isn't found in C:WindowsAssembly. However, the server has MS .NET Framework 3.5 installed and also MS ASP.NET 2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0. Is this something I need to deploy with my app, or something I need to be installed on the server? It's not my own server so xcopy deployment within my app folder would be much better if that's possible.
There is a file with an extension .cert sitting on web server. when i tried to access it through URL, i couldn't open it and didn't give any error message also. I verified the file existence in that folder and also i could open it using notepad. Is there any MIME to be added to open this file?
I've been working on a project that's been a rather seat-of-the-pants experience. We have MOSS 2007 and Silverlight 3 installed. We're trying to make use of some new 3rd party software, Visual Fusion([URL] While working through the tutorial I ran into a bit of an issue. All I really have to go on is the guidance package and sample stuff they provided so it's still a little fuzzy. Basically when I debug the project in Visual Studio 2008, instead of loading the default.aspx page, I get this on my browser instead:
Server Error in '/' Application.

I've spent the last few hours poking around for answers and it seems to be related to the fact that I'm running this all on a 64-bit machine, but all the references to workarounds I found were rather vague.
