Get ErrorHandles Clause Requires A WithEvents Variable Defined In The Containing Type
Jun 1, 2010i just started to get this error.
View 1 Repliesi just started to get this error.
View 1 RepliesI put a server side button on the header page. The website is running fine. I use the same source and put it on IIS, it's also working fine but the problem is, i couldn't compile it anymore using my VS studio. It's showing no error so when I go and check the output (after scrolling down a bit and found one line says error). it says
C:InetpubwwwrootAmFraserIntranetheader.master.vb(31,0): error BC30506: Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types.
C:InetpubwwwrootAmFraserIntranetheader.master.vb(32,0): error BC30451: Name 'keyword' is not declared.
keyword is the textbox on the header page. I also played around with AutoEventWireUp (true/false) and defining onclick event on the server tag but it is still not solving the problem.

in this program two error:-
1.Error Handles clause requires a WithEvents variable defined in the containing type or one of its base types. D:IntranetAdminIndivTaxation260309.aspx.vb 204 93 D:Intranet
2,Error 24 'Name' is not declared. File I/O functionality is available in the 'Microsoft.VisualBasic' namespace. D:IntranetAdminIndivTaxation260309.aspx.vb 206 40 D:Intranet
Just knocked up a quick sub site and everything was working great until I put my code in the getquote button and now it shows the below error. Done a bit of searching but everything I find says I need to insert something like: Protected WithEvents {buttonname} As LinkButton
Compilation Error

I'm trying to create a control out of a class I found, and one of the overridden functions is the following:
protected override void PerformDataBinding(IEnumerable data)
However, when I try to build the control I'm getting the error as shown in the subject. I've tried searching, and it seems the signature for the original function matches the one I have, and all other solutions I've seen uses the same signature.
I get a message - "Function without an 'As' clause" for HMAC_MD5 and "Variable declaration without an 'As' clause" for Key and Value. But the code works. But the messages still exists. Is there a way to fix this to avoid the messages?

I can select IQueryable<object-type> data fine from a data repository class and push it into a list type MVC view, but how do I do this and group that data - I don't seem to be able to find any examples on this.
View 9 Replieshere is my code:
return from c in db.TBLcharacters
join o in db.TBLjobs on c.char_job equals o.job_title
orderby c.char_lastname descending
select c;
The goal is to print out the job title from the seperate table when I list the names of the Employees. So in the final formatting on the view it would be John Doe [Janitor] (or something similiar)
But when I make the build I get the following error:
The type of one of the expressions in the join clause is incorrect. Type inference failed in the call to 'Join'.
What I find wierd is cjar_job and job_title are both varchars so the type is the same.
I am using an adapter to get a list with IN where clause as:

I passed the parameter, CatIDList, with string value 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
However, it returns error of Error converting nvarchar value.
me how can I fix this error message: Type 'dsFaq' is not defined

I've got a Site.Master file I've created to be my template for the majority of the site, with a navigation. This navigation is dynamically created, based on a recursive Entity (called Page) - Pages with a parentID of 0 are top level, and naturally each child carries it's parent's Id in that field.
I've created a quick little HTML Helper that accepts the ID of an Page and generates the nav by doing a foreach on the children that have a parentId matching the passed Id. On the majority of the site, I want the Site.Master to use a parentId of 0, but if I'm on a strongly typed View displaying a Page, I naturally want to use the Id of the page.
Is there a way to do such conditional logic in a Site.Master (and, does that violate MVC rules)? "If I'm on a strongly typed Page of /Page/{Id}, use the Id render nav, else use 0"
used wsdl.exe to create a .cs class for my wsdl service connection.I made a Visual Studio project to compile the .cs into a dll having namespace CalculatorService (CalculatorService.dll).I created an asp.net project added my namespace import:%@ Import Namespace="CalculatorService" %I right-clicked on the project, clicked Add Reference, found my .dll, added it, built the project, checked /bin to ensure my dll was there (and it was).All is well LOCALLY while debugging. It found the CalculatorService, connected to it, got the XML and displayed it.

So, I've been programming for a number of years. Finding some intricately asinine issues w/ ASP.NET and VB.NET as I learn them. How about this one:
[Code]....
The issue is not Date1
The issue is Date2.
No kidding. I had to String.Format Date1 for some odd reason, even though I'd already validated it. And, yes, I tried to parse and convert Date1 but I kept gettting the typical "Argument 'Date2' cannot be converted to type 'Date'." error. (Did you catch the copy & paste? I didn't edit it from my existing error, but Date2 should be Date1.) Yeah, that's the error I'm getting now with the above ...
"Argument 'Date2' cannot be converted to type 'Date'."
Date2 is a system defined type. Why can't the system convert and/or simply use it's own pre-defined type?
I try the example on the folow I get error on TYpe DataSet is not defined, I use net 1.1

First of all, let me explain the situation, I know this is a bit complicated.
And I apologize for my poor English.I have created a dll library which contains the classes I created.I tested the library with Console Application and web site created with Visual Studio 2005,everything works fine.So I copied the dll to the "Bin" folder of a running ASP.NET 2.0 web site, added reference to the dll file, imported the namespace, then trying to initiate instances of objects in the dll.
I developed a web application using asp.net and mysql database. I upload the web pages in my server. I'm getting the following error "
BC30002: Type 'MySqlCommand' is not defined.". How to solve this? Here i attached my code also.
<%@ Page Language="vb" debug="true" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="MySql.Data.MySqlClient" %>
<%@ Import Namespace="System.Web.Mail" %> [code]....
