View 4 RepliesI have been given access to a web service that I can use to pull valuable data for my company. The issue I am having is I don't know where to begin writing out the returned values. I am using an asp.net VB web file to connect to the web service and call the wanted procedures. I have added the web service as an web reference in my project, other than that I am stuck. Here is what I have so far;
[Code]....
So basically I am writing out an array but it comes out like this;
[Code]....
This is not the expected the return but from what I understand the VeroWebService.SaleModel is like the parent xml/SOAP element.The expected return is more like;
[Code]....
I try to implement simple SOAP server on ASP.NET and simple client on php and get the problem with response and request format. My server is very simple, take one string and return another:
[WebMethod]
public string HelloWorld(string Additional) {
return "Hello " + Additional;
}
I expect, that php client is such simple:
$client = new SoapClient('path');
print_r($client->HelloWorld('homm'));
But actually, function take only objects and return object with single member — HelloWorldResult:
$client = new SoapClient('path');
print_r($client->HelloWorld(array('Additional' => 'homm')));
stdClass Object
(
[HelloWorldResult] => Hello homm
)
What part I need to change, server (ASP.NET) or client(php) to work with results and parameters indirect?
I added a new asmx file, which start like this:
[Code]....
I have uncommented the ScriptService line to allow access from scripts.
What else do I need to set to make jquery connections?
Can I prevent access from outside my app? I only want to provide a service for signed-in users (web forms) via own webpage.
I am using the asp.net and framework 2.0 with Ajax enable web.i have a text box and when user will enter "a" or number in this will search the name started from "a" character or number if he or she enter the number basically we can say live-search.

I am working with a sql 2008 server express database in asp.net. I have a table which I will call table 1. Table 1 has a primary key called Order_Id which is an int and automatically increments. After deleting all the records from Table 1, how can I reset the primary key Order_Id to zero again?
View 3 RepliesI want to store IP number in a column in db but which column type should I use? Of course I can use string but isn't this a waste of storage space? Can I not store IP nr in another type in db that saves space?
View 1 RepliesI have a SQL Server database, and I select some rows, how to know the number of records I select ?
View 6 RepliesI have database with one table and it has 4 rows.
1. I want to show a zero in front of all number. Actually i added but it doesn't show.
2. If i don't put any value in column is it possible to have minus for example instead of 0?
[Code]....
I post it like that because i can't see how to post pics directly.
P.S. The columns with numbers have checked "allow nulls".
I draw in paint so it's not so good but i think it's understandable.
What would you all suggest a database with less number of tables and more number of columns or more number of tables with less number of columns. I am developing a web application using Visual stuio 2005 and Sql Server 2005

I have set up a SQL Role and denied SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE access to a number of tables.I noticed that a user in this role can create a stored procedure containing a SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE statement on the table that I have denied access to.How could I stop the user in the role from being able to create/alter/execute stored procedure which use the tables than I have denied access to?Also, the user in the role needs to be able to execute stored procedure on the tables which they are not denied access to.

I've noticed a number of events being logged on our Windows server, coming from an Asp.net application. I wouldn't know where to begin troubleshooting this problem, but the basics are this:
- Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (NLB)
- Asp.net 3.5 App
- Oracle 10g DB
Event ID: 1309
Event code: 3005
Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred.
Exception information:
Exception type: CryptographicException

The second last line here is why I posted in the security forum. The page that it's coming from is webresource.axd

for some SQL queries I know the expected number of rows that must be affected by UPDATE, DELETE or INSERT statements. It could be a number such as 1 or a range such as 0-1 or 1-2 etc.
What is the best way to enforce that this is the number of affected rows and that otherwise an exception is thrown?
Also, can I limit the number of rows affected for UPDATE/DELETE/INSERT to say 1 row and otherwise get an exception?
I want to make my column unique identifier as well as the indexer.I used autoincrement property but when we delete specific row then the below rows are not in order like
if we have
1
2---delete 2nd row
3
then it will be
1
3
but i want the o/p as
1
2----3rd row is now 2nd row
Is there any way like 'Default value or Binding=Row_Number()' something??
It is always an issue while I import large text. After certain number of characters, it skips the rest of text!

i need to query a table which normally will return multiple records for the id and I need to loop through probably using a cursor and pull values out from each record to make a string.
what is the syntax for this? i've seen cursors using a set number (EX: loop through 5 times) but I need to create a query so that I can loop through once for each row returned from my query.
I have an entry from a database that has 500 characters. But when i display it i only want to return 200 charcters. How do I do that. I use Sql Server.
View 3 RepliesI'm serving up PDFs from a SQL db and presenting them in the browser. I'm trying to figure out a way to embed a number in the PDF dynamically so that the recordID for that PDFs SQL record is available to me when the user submits the XML form data. The user hits the submit button on the form and the form submits its XML data to my submission page. If there is some way of changing the submission URL on the fly then I could do a query string to pass my self the recordID. I'm not generating the PDF in code, its being created by hand and then uploaded to my site.EditUser is given a link someServer.com/pdfLink.aspx?formID=5 they go there and that pages pulls a PDF from the DB and displays it. This pulls up acrobat in browser full size so my aspx page isn't in control of submitting the completed form, Acrobat is. The user fills out the form and hits the submit button in the form. This submit button was set up at form design time to point to another page someSite.com/pdfSubmit.aspx The submit button posts the XML data to that page and I can process it. I need the recordID in the query string for the someSite.com/pdfSubmit.aspx page. To do this I would need to modify the PDF to either add the recordID and query string to the submit button's submit URL, or embed it in the PDF else ware. The big question is how do I modify the PDF just before I display it via someServer.com/pdfLink.aspx?formID=5 to do either of these two options.
