How To Build The FAQ Section As In Link Using ASP C#
Jan 18, 2010
First of all thanks to the active members of this site.I want to know the Controls used in New age FAQ pages.simulating the FAQ's used inhttp://uidai.gov.in/faq.html .how can I build the FAQ section as in link using ASP C#.
I have a website built where i would like to add a classifieds section into.i have seen the classifieds starter kit but i wouldnt know how to incorporate that into my current website.is there any tutorials on how to build one yourself?
i am currently working on a small project in which i have to build a web form and link that to a database...thing is, i don't even know where to begin!Once i build my database, how do i link that to my website? directing me to an appropriate tutorial on how i can do this?
one of the main things i'd like to do is to connect to a database, get info, and with that info, build a list for a drop down menu for the user to select. is that at all possible?
I have a parent repeater that lists the sections of the website. this repeater binds to display a table that contain another repeater of the website pages .. or may display a table that contains another two repeaters of the projects categories and sub-categories.Until now everything is going fine.
The problem comes when I try to include a query of the section ID to the link of the project categories (DataView of the projects repeaters does not contain SectionID)my question is : is there any way to call the SectionID of the first repeater in my projects categories and sub-categories repeaters? Here is my code:
I want to dynamically populate a link with the URI of the current request, but set one specific query string parameter. All other querystring paramaters (if there are any) should be left untouched. Eg, imagine I want to build a link back to the current page, but with the querystring parameter "valueOfInterest" always set to be "wibble" (I'm doing this from the code-behind of an aspx page, .Net 3.5 in C# FWIW).Eg, a request for either of these two:
Caveats: I'd like to avoid string manipulation if there's something more elegant in asp.net that is more robust. However if there isn't something more elegant, so be it. I've done (a little) homework: I found a blog post which suggested copying the request into a local HttpRequest object, but that still has a read-only collection for the querystring params. I've also had a look at using a URI object, but that doesn't seem to have a querystring
I am trying to create a forgot password section within my login section and it doesnt seem to work.
In my forgotpassword.aspx page my code looks like this:
[code]....
According to our records, you have requested that your password be reset. Your new password is: <%Password%>

My system: I have installed Windows 7, VS2010 and .NET40 and ASPAJAXExtSetup.msi I'm getting the error below.

I have a question regarding a situation that occurs with GridView, ObjectDataSource in ASP .NET application. The GridView is linked to the ObjectDataSource and both are included within an UpdatePanel letting the GridView to fill in an asynchronous way from a form in the same page so it gets more rows as the user enters the data:
I start the project with Visual Studio 2008, fill the form and it works correctly. Then I stop the execution: rerun again and the data I entered in the previous run is in the GridView. Is like some sort of cache saved the data from the session before. I checked that EnableCaching property is set to false for the ObjectDataSource. If I Rebuild Web Site in Visual Studio (not just Build) then it works corretly leaving the GridView empty. Is this caused just becuase of Visual Studio? Can it be turned off? And will it happen in the final IIS it will run on?
I want to build a survey system where you can build a form with questions and some answers to these questions and then members who will log in will be able to take the test.
Then i want to present the different results from the test in some diagram or something like that.
I have a TFS build set up to deploy an ASP.net project to a test server. The build works great, and deploys to the test server fine, but instead of putting it into the Website directory that my IIS webserver is configured for, it puts the build into Website_20100511.6
Why is the date suffixed to the directory name? Is there a way to turn that off so I can publish directly to the Website?
I'm trying to create a member section for my website and a non member section. I want the nonmember pages to have access to all the member pages but just not certain features like saving to the database. Is there a way to have the same page for both members and non members but have certain controls like buttons and other things that are only usable to the member that is logged in?
I have this error: The configuration section 'connectionStrings' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration on my site when loading this page [URL]. The rest of the site works [URL] Setup:The server is a hosting company - Mocha Hosting. [URL] contains a phpbb forum. This has been installed via the hosting company's web tool (Plesk). There is a root web.config, but there isn't in the /forum/ folder. The forum folder has been set by the phpbb installation wizard to be a virtual directory and application - and it appears to not have asp.net configured on it. The forum worked BEFORE uploading the root web.config file, and again if i temporarily remove the root web.config.
I need to build web application that will do:1 - build web pages. 1a - build template for page. 2 - add module(by module I mean ContacUs form, Search, Billing System...). Each module can be constructed by submodules or diveded to submodules 2a - build module(add form, textbox, button...) and that all entered data by user could be saved in dbCan you advise me a DB structure that will contain it allI looked some cms db, but it's NOT this. Please, don't ask why I mess with it. I just need to build it.
1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.
After submitting a form, the user is presented with a link to a pdf document. The link is straight to the document, it is not streamed.
If the user right-clicks and chooses 'save link as,' the document saves and opens fine. However, if the user just clicks on the link, the browser takes a very long time to respond (I'm going to guess it's 3 minutes) and then adobe reader gives the following error:
"the file is damaged and could not be repaired"
This is in Chrome v5, ASP.NET 3.5 and the link is returned inside an UpdatePanel.
For example, i browse the web page in browser, at first, i clink "home", home page is show out, then i click the "Contact us", then the "contact us" web page is showing out, BUT the problem is come out when i try to click the home page again, the home page doesn't come out and still at the contact us page...any1 know WHY?Thank you for helping...
