I have a dynamically generated image placed inside an update panel. The image is generated with the Generated Image control (see here for more:
[URL]. This is basically a specialised httphandler linked to a normal asp:image, where the image src is generated dynamically. In my case, I use some GDI+ to dynamically generate the image, based on values from a database query.
The problem I have is that the image does not update when the update panel updates. The image does, however, update if I manually reload/refresh the page (i.e., hit F5). Why is is that some code fires during an update panel update, and not other code? And, more importantly, what can I do to make sure the image generation code does fire during the updatepanel update?

I'm using a lot of LinkButtons in my web application with text and images inside them. All LinkButtons are set with a ToolTip and all images inside the LinkButtons are set with an alternate text.

The problem is that in Internet Explorer the alternate text of the image is shown instead of the ToolTip of the LinkButton. In Firefox this problem doesn't exists, it always show the ToolTip of the LinkButton.

Is it possible to overcome this issue? Removing all alternate texts will resolve the issue but a better (more standard) way is always welcome!
using AJAX tooltip control to display dynamic fields
the database table contains
ID --> Autonumber
Title --> text
Date --> Date
Notes --> Memo (rich text)
database is Microsoft access (.mdb)
Have a look at below link. In that page if you mouse over on any thumbnail image a div opens with that image details with larger size. But there is a point to notice usually when an image gets downloaded in the browser we see that the image loads in parts from top to bottom. In this case the whole is loaded but in blurred state and gets cleared after fully downloaded.

I have an load of images on my form with the purpose that if the user holds the mouse on it, (s)he gets a tooltip with some information. The image is a questionmark.The users are now asking if the duration of this tooltip can be extended so they actually can read all of the tekst.So it would be great if a TooltipExtender could be created that can be connected to a image control (or any other)

But i cannot figure out how to store the data retrieved bec. once I hover on an item the 2nd time, It will never request again from the server. It will only load the data retrieved from the first time.

2. preview the image that the user just selected

I am a tech writer and am working in visual studio creating tooltips for an ERP site. Originally we were using the Jquery tools from flow player[URL] but these did not agree with our asp elements. Specifically the drop down and check boxes. It also caused odd display features with our buttons. On one page the display looked great until an autogenerate button was pushed. Then, all of the formatting went away. So my question is, is there something else that's free that can allow me to style my tooltips and work well with ajax?
View 1 RepliesI am trying to write an ajax based tooltip for a website. The JS file searches the html page for certain keywords, which are fetched from an xml file. The keywords are searched using searchhighlight Jquery plugin. Then I use ajax to fetch the description of that keyword (or help) from aspx file(which just parses the xml doc for description of keyword)
I have been able to do everything except position the call to my mousehover functions. What has been happening is, when I hover over the first word, the tooltip gets displayed properly, but when I go over to the next word, the first tooltip gets displayed for a split second before the new tooltip loads. how to resolve the issue and make my code run smoothly? Otherwise coming to my question, where I'm struck after trying above thing at myself and failed then had to go around the Ajax way of doing this. Now I'm using Ajax call over the onclick event of each hyperlink from top navigation and it's succesfully loading external .aspx pages (for example,[URL]. The problem is when user comes on the application on first time, it only shows the .aspx page which has a navigation and a Ajax content place holder which is programmed to be filled with contents on click event.

I Used AsyncFileUpload(one of Ajac Control Toolkit Controls) to Uploading User's Image. this works well. But i want to change the image url of an image contorl to uploaded image url. how can i perform that? I put Image control in a Update Panel:
