HttpModule Not Working After Moving From Net2 To Net3.5
Jan 7, 2010
My development computer crashed a few weeks back. I took this as the perfect opportunity to upgrade my developmental tools as well as migrate my web app from .net 2 to .net 3.5.My question deals with themes and calling themes from an httpmodule.
I am trying to access the page object in module and change the hyper links urls. Page object is being access properly, but changes I am making are not effecting the output. I mean here I am changing the url to TestURL.aspx, but this is not comming. could
I created a http Module following this tutorial. The module just displays a simple "Hello from OnBeginRequest in custom module.".I've referenced it in web.config and then, to satisfy my scenario (at work we need to see a module in action for all websites on a server, with the minimal configuration) I installed the module in the GAC, then I edited the "global" web.config in order tomake the module work for all the my web applications
the purpose of this HttpModule? It's showing up on my HttpModuleCollection list, but I don't know what's it's for.System.ServiceModel.Activation.HttpModule
I have an .aspx page. I have a <table> element. In that table, I have a text box. Based on the results of a database query, I will set the text property of that text box. But I want that text to move across the screen from right side to left. So I used marquee element. But the text doesn't move.
I'm maintaining a dynamically generated table in ASP.NET, which allows users to move items up and down in the table. What this essentially does behind the scenes is just swaps around the 'sortorder' which the table is sorted by. I have checks to see if a row is the first/last column, and if so only display up/down (whatever's relevant). An issue has crept up now and I have no idea why. For some reason, most of the time (not all of the time strangely) the up and down buttons don't work. Using 'Up' as an example, the current record does get set to the 'above' rows sortorder, but the 'above' row doesn't take the below rows sort order. Now I've set my breakpoints throughout my code, and strangely everything gets set fine. It's just when I call SubmitChanges() to the LINQ data context, that it seems to put the wrong value into the database. Also what's strange is that I think that if you click it again, it actually works. But it doesn't work properly as the number is still out by a bit.
Here's my code: if (Request.QueryString["dir"] != null) { if (Request.QueryString["dir"] == "up") { var currentrecordup = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems where Request.QueryString["val"] == s.id.ToString() select s).Single(); int valsortidup = (int)currentrecordup.sortorder; var prevrecordup = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems where s.sortorder < valsortidup orderby s.sortorder descending select s).First(); int prevsortidup = (int)prevrecordup.sortorder; int tempval = valsortidup; currentrecordup.sortorder = prevsortidup; prevrecordup.sortorder = tempval; } else if (Request.QueryString["dir"] == "down") { var currentrecorddown = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems where Request.QueryString["val"] == s.id.ToString() select s).Single(); int valsortiddown = (int)currentrecorddown.sortorder; var nextrecorddown = (from s in dc.InvoiceItems where s.sortorder > valsortiddown orderby s.sortorder ascending select s).First(); int nextsortiddown = (int)nextrecorddown.sortorder; int tempvaldown = valsortiddown; currentrecorddown.sortorder = nextsortiddown; nextrecorddown.sortorder = tempvaldown;} dc.SubmitChanges(); Response.Redirect("EditInvoice.aspx?id=" + Request.QueryString["id"]); } The sortorder column in my table is an int field that allows nulls.
currently iam using .NET1.1 version in next few days i will be migrating this .NET1.1 application to .NET3.5 version...so my question is how to migrate this .NET1.1 to .NET3.5..? How to migrate this & what precuations i need to take.?
I create a simple website with visual studio 2008(asp.net3). I use some control server that is supported only .net3 such as ScriptManeger. When i compiled the website in .net2, some errors are appears.
I want use this website in ubuntu web server. In ubuntu Server 10.4 i can use asp.net2 to run aspx pages, but i don't know how run my website page with aps.net3?
I have isolated the problem in two project which are the same except one targets 3.5 and the other 4.0This is breaking my app, and really causing major headaches.This is the mapping of the route:
[Code]....
Which uses a custom contraint:
[Code]....
This is the controller Action [Code]....
In Home/Index.aspx I have created a few links:
[Code]....
All link have a different link text wich I use here to reffer to themThis generates the following links which are in my opinion faulty in both frameworks, but 4.0 offers no workaround.In 3.5:
actionlink = /Home/Special (?) actionlink routevalues = /MyPrefix (This is what I want) routelink= / (?)
suppose i have one button and i want that when user click this button and then a method will be called asynchronously.how to do it in asp.net 2.0. please help me with sample code.
I'm having a bit of trouble with this - I've got the correct version of the toolkit, and I've installed the ajax extensions and templates, but when I go to install the toolkit, I select the dll in the Choose Items and I get the error message that there are no coomponents in the dll. Frantic googling for all I'm worth will only point to helpful folks highlighting the link:
[URL]
however that seems to be a dud, now, and results in an error page.
I got the Ajax build from:
[URL]
I downloaded the NoSource version, and I've run the VSI included so that I can now create apps that (in theory) use the toolkit, but I'm a bit flummoxed as to how to get the toolbox in the toolbar so that I can get at the controls within Visual Studio.
The environment is Web Developer 2008 Express edition
I find that the password can only retrieved by method GetPassword() in asp.net2.0 Membership.In fact, we can get the password when we get the user infomation from database and set it as a property of user(object of MemberhsipUser) just as user.Email, user.UserName, etc.
It's clear that adopting the second resolution(property) can reduce one trip between server and database and more convenient. But why Microsoft don't do like this? For secruity reason? Then why is it less secure to set the password as property?
I have an asp.net2 WebForms project which worked fine, including referencing a dll compiled for .Net2.
Problem is that I have now recompiled the dll for .Net4 and have also 'upgraded' the VS2010 asp.net WebForms project to .Net4 and the asp.net WebForms application won't access the dll.
The first time the dll is called I get System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
The new dll is accessed by other WinForms applications OK.
Whatever the problem is, VS2010 freezes and I need to use Task Manager to close it down.
I wanted to disable a button after it is clicked and at the same time fire the post back event to generate a report. My first set of code did not work because soon after the button is disabled the page won't submit/post back. here's the first set of code which was not implemented. the onclientclick calls a javascript function which has these lines
its not working from client side alone after I disable the code behind attributes.add but when I check the view source the 2 pages are the samewhy am I not able to move the code from code-behind to design view?
As i know that asp.net fulfill all the requirements for any web application but what are the ground rules for creating custom httphandler and httpmodule in asp.net.Edit:For example I want to fetch image from database then what i should i use httphandler or normally read image from database.If httphandler then why?
I am implementing HttpModule for compressing request.Below is the codee for HttpModule:
public class Global : IHttpModule { public void Init(HttpApplication app) {[code]....
It's able to intercept and compress js and css in the development web server but when i run it from IIS 5.1 it is not able to compress js and css files.
I have custom redirection implemented in a module. Do I have to modify each config for all sites or is there a more general approach?Also, I have files in App_Data for this module, which would cause replication.
I'm implementing a simple HttpModule, where I want some code to run when the web application is started. But I'm surprised to find that the Application_Start event I would normally use from Global.asax is not available from a HttpModule. Is that correct, or am I missing something here?
How do I hook into the Application_Start event from an HttpModule?
I'm considering making use of an HttpModule for localization purposes (based on the example in this article) - but I'm curious, is this safe?
Here's the code, for reference:
public class CookieLocalizationModule : IHttpModule { public void Dispose() { }
[code]....
I was under the impression that multiple threads could potentially service a web request. Is it safe to set the Current/Current UI Cultures in an HttpModule like this and have it respected for the life of the web request regardless of how many threads are involved in servicing it?
