I have an interresting challange for a project I am doing. Allow me to explain. i have a database with a number of pictures stored in a table (actually just the links to the pictures). My application must now read the images in random sequence and make sure that a picture does not get displayed more than once for, let's say, every 20 cycles. What I mean is that, if a picture get's shown once, there must be at least 20 others before this one must be displayed again.
Has any one ever downloaded and made use of the mvcContrib template gallery for asp.net mvc. I cant find where to download the templates from and there is no documentation for how to use it?
I want to do project online art gallery in .net using Visual studio 2005,(asp.net with vb) and sql server(within VS 2005),for that i want to upload an image frm user and save it into the database,i want to get help for the proejct?I want to get coding for uploading n saving image to sqlserver. If anybody have the project please send to my mail
my website generates a bunch of images on the server side which I like to display dynamically as a table. For this I have created a function called "CreateDynamicTable". The code can be found here [URL]
Basically I have a bunch of threads that generate Bitmaps which are all saved inside the Application State. All images are very small and the number of images is also pretty small. My question is what would be the easiest way to display the images on the Client side.
I have tried to save all Bitmaps as JPEGs which are then linked with a System.Web.UI.WebControls.Image inside a table cell. Unfortunately no images are displayed inside the browser.
I'm trying to create an album gallery, which works this way:First, i have the album photos with description on each album under the photo, with a pager. ( that was done)Second, when you click on a certain album, you see all photos related to this album only. I am using ACCESS DB. i just cant figure it out how to connect those data correctly, and how clicking an album will take me to the photos related only to it.
I want to develop a video gallery as one of the module of my website. I am planning to use the youtube api for this. Following features are needed in the gallery.
The users should be able to upload videos and view videos. There is no need for the user to login to the youtube website. The youtube authentication will of the my website.I should be able to get the thumbnail of the uploaded video to be displayed.
I am in the process of creating a photo blog website for my photography. To outline my website, basically I want my homepage to be the blog where I'll upload a daily photograph. In addition to the photo blog, I want a number of static pages such as Contact, Biography, Galleries (here's where my question fits in...).
In the static galleries pages, what is my best option for creating galleries? Would I be better off coding it from the start in C# or embedding an HTML website that is creating from Adobe Lightroom? To give you an idea of what I want, take a look at my current website which is www.nigelivy.com. I would like to create a similar site in terms of look and feel, but the reason I am re-writing the site in ASP.NET is because I want to increase my functionality, I already have some knowledge of ASP.NET, and I have a Windows Server which is ready to host the site.
I'm using a lovely jQuery plugin to load static images into a thumbnail viewer - the locations are hard coded which doesn't serve us any use other than for a demo.
I've managed to pull the images from our server into a unique folder but I've no idea how to load the images dynamically to the plug in. This is the format for the images in the plug in.
[Code]....
The documentation says I can use a JSON array too:
[Code]....
But I don't know how to make this "dynamic". I have the filenames and folder location in C# in my code behind - no idea how to pass this to the jQuery plugin. I can collect the file names and pass to a new ASP page (ie no need to load from the current page).
Can anybody recommend how I can build / add a robust photo gallery into my ASP.NET site? I would like the photo gallery to display images based on the results from a database search. I have already built a page with a datagrid which displays a set of results retrieved from a search. Now I would like to turn these database results into a gallery!
I have already looked at [URL] and a few other sites, but am not getting very far. If you consider the above to be a good example, I am currently stuck on several aspects of this project which I would be very grateful for assistance on.
I want to develop a website for a photographer where the admin (the photographer) is allowed to upload new fotos which will then automatically be added to the gallery.
I was thinking of using a flash gallery as there are some nice free templates online. But I don't know how I will make the flash automatically show new images aswell. Or maybe I should just make a javascript gallery.
I wanted to get a code review of my methods for creating a simple list/gallery display in ASP.NET. I am looking for specific ideas on how I might approach this same task differently. My goals are simplicity, rapid development, and ease-of-use.
The task: Create a simple image list view (gallery) for a folder in ASP.NET web forms.
How I Did It: I created the image controls on the fly and add them to a placeholder template. I added line breaks using literals controls too. Finally, I add a query string to the page for the "paging".
What other ways would one recommend to do this? I had considered to use a grid or listview. My goal was to do this really quickly.
I write gallery. I used DataList with RepeatColumns=5, I what to put 25 pictures on one page. I have paths to files in database. When user wants to see gallery I just take all the filenames from database. It can be that I have more than 25 pictures. How can I remember these paths in my application, or maybe should I change my database procedure in way that it returns specific number of filenames. I mean it has 2 input parameters and it returns paths with number between this numbers.
in my web page designing in some part i want to show all the photos one by one from a photo gallery folder. After some time if the folder is updated the updated photos should also be displayed.how to achieve this.
Is there a way to display gridview as "gallery view" instead of plain "list view". For example like ebay(you can toggle the view 1.list view, 2.gallery view, 3. side by side view). Any asp.net controls or jQuery controls will do the job for me.
