Javascript - Hide Menu Item Or Dropdown Menu Item?

I have dropdown menu item ("pin this site") that i need to hide it or hide menu item itself ("My Network").
When I saw viewsource on page, I got below code.

I have a DropDownList on an ASP.NET page that gets populated by a SQL database.

The population is down in the code behind file:
ddlName.DataSource = SqlDataSource1;
ddlName.DataValueField = (this.ddlName.SelectedValue);

I was wondering if it was possible to change the background or text color of an item in the list based on it's value? I just noticed that the example below works when the page first loads but on postback the text color disappears even though that is where the code is. Is there something I am missing?

I am Trying to hide Navigation Menu Item on my master page based on a selected item from a Drop Down List on another page. I think i need to use a session to get the pages to communicate, which i can do just fine. Im having a problem putting together the code to actually Hide the link based on the specific answer of the DDL.

i have a menu which is collapses as a default. This is done by following query.

Now, the problem is, whenever i click on any menu item by expanding the menu, the item page opens but the menu collapses again. I want to let the menu remain as expanded although a menu item is clicked. i.e. menu shouldn't refresh when a menu item is clicked.

I am using frames in my webpage.in one of the frames i have a menu control whose items are database driven.when click on the menu item, i want another page to be displayed in other frame.
now i want to pass the the selected menu item text to the other page using session variable which is in the menu item click event method.but the thing is when i click on the menu item, the click event is not firing.
is there any better way to pass the selected menu item text to the other page?

I am reimplementing an ASP.NET application with a main page (Call it "MyMainPage") which contains a user control. (Call it "MyNavControl") Within that user control is a menu control provided by a third party. Items added to this third party control have an "Href" property that is passed a URL. The code to create a menu subitem, contained within the codebehind of the .ascx for MyNavControl, goes something like this:

MyMainPage also contains a user control representing the bulk of the page body. Let's call that MainBodyControl.ascx. The Page_Load() for the main page sets up some session values which are used in the Page_Load() for MainBodyControl.When the menu item on the main page is clicked, the main page's Page_Load() will be passed the arguments specified in the menu item control's "Href" value. I've got a simple website that contains a master page with a menu on it. The menu works fine with IE and Firefox but when I try it in Chrome clicking the menu doesn't seem to work.

I have a menu control which is based on a sitemap as below.
However whilst the security aspect is working i.e. users cannot access a page without being in the correct role the menu does not seem to hide any of the menu items.
I really want users only to see the help menu item before they log in, then after this point they should see all items unless they are External in which case the Uploads and Admin Items should be hidden.
Is this not possible or have I set up my sitemap wrong?
If I remove roles="*" from the first node no menu items are visible at all even after login?
