I am interested in building an intranet document management system to be used from Internet Explorer using ASP.net, VB.net, and MS SQL Server but have no experience in doing a project like this. Supported file types would be txt, pdf (from scanner or imported from file system), or jpg. What concepts I should look at researching/learning about to build the system in a way that files will be stored as small as possible, retrieved and displayed quickly, and secured. The users would be spread out over a regional area covering 4 states.
I want to make an conformation dialog on auto generated delete button in detail view that when user press delete dialog or conformation box appear that u sure u want to delete how can i do this?
I have JQuery confirmation dialog function that called by server side code (C#)how to get its return value of that function? in this case the return value would be either Yes or No.I called it in button clicked event as below:
Code: protected void btn1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { string message = "Message from server side, please select yes or no"; ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(this.GetType(), "Popup", "ShowConfirmation('" + message + "');", true); }
my question is how to get JQuery return value, in this case the return value would be Yes or No?
I am trying to use confirmation dialog from jQuery UI.
I ran into this problem: how to trigger correctly the dialog and at the same time prevent trigger OnClick event specified at button until user click on Yes or No buttons at dialog?
In the example below are two ways how to popup confirmation. Lower one works well. It's a classic JavaScript confirm dialog. When I try to use the jQuery UI dialog, it displays a dialog but allows it to run the event assigned at OnClick (here by using Command, but I suppose there is no difference. Hope I am not wrong.). The piece is taken from the ASP.NET Repeater control btw.
Is there any way to add a confirmation dialog to a submit button when the form already has other validation controls and a summary control using "showmessagebox=true"? I tried adding
OnClientClick="return confirm('Are you sure?');" to the submit button, but that seems to block all of the other validation?
I am having a gridview with some button column. I have written some functionality in code behind for the button click. How can i display a confirm dialog in mid of the button click functionality and based on users response(Yes or No from dialog) i need to continue the remaining funtionality in the button click event.
I have a confirmation button that appears when an end user highlights a Customer Name and clicks the link to delete. The confirmation prompts: "Are you sure you want to delete this record?"
Here's the code from the .aspx:
<asp:LinkButton ID="LnkBtn_Delete" runat="server" Width="100%" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("CustID") %>' CommandName="Delete" Text="Delete" OnClientClick="return confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this record') "></asp:LinkButton>
What I'm attempting to do is replace the portion of the confirmation question "this record" with the actual Customer Name.
im using jquery. is there any way to broke the Dialog popup as diamond shape or any other shape?and how to provide minimize and maximize buttons on the dialog?
How do I reference the delete button to add the delete confirmation box when I have both the Edit and Delete buttons as the last two columns in the Gridview control. The following code works fine without any issues when I have the delete button only:
protected void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType != DataControlRowType.DataRow) return; int lastCellIndex = e.Row.Cells.Count - 1; Button db = (Button)e.Row.Cells[lastCellIndex].Controls[0]; db.OnClientClick = "if (!window.confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this record?')) return false;"; }
But, when I have both the Edit and the Delete buttons, I get the following error when I click the edit button while the delete button works fine.
Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: index
How do I reference the delete button so the edit button is not affected in this case?
I am using jQuery dialog in asp.net. It is working fine for me. The problem is when I open the dialog box, I can still work parent page functionality. I don't want that. Just dialog to modal and should not allow focus on parent page.
I am having an update button on my from on clicking update i would like to prompt the user as Do you want to delimit the record with Yes and No buttons. If the user clicks on Yes i would like to execute the code which can delimit the record if not just update the record.
My sample code
protected void btnUpdate1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { EmpID = Convert.ToInt32(HiddenField1.Value); if (ID == 2) {
I am using the jQuery Dialog in ASP.NET. I have it working fine with the exception of when I click the OK button in the dialog and if an error occurred I want to show the error in the label. By the time the dialog closing event is fired it is too late. How do I still show the dialog if an error has occurred. I don't want to close the dialog when there is an error.
When the user click on TreeNew button appears the modal dialog, then he/she choose an option an click Ok button to do a postback.I need that the server side execute TreeNew_Click method: How can I do that?
If I use __doPostBack('TreeNew', '') it throws me the following error: "Object expected".
UPDATE:I found the origin for the error: the function __doPostBack is not defined. I'm not going to delete the question because I think Chris Clark's answer is so interesting.
I want to show a confirmation dialog when a specific value is selected in an asp:DropDownList. If the confirmation dialog returns false (cancel) then I want to prevent the AutoPostBack.
A user inserts ad details and on button click saves them to database. If the save is successful, a DIV element slides down (becomes visible) allowing the users to add pictures for that ad.
As the users adds the pictures, they are being shown in a Repeater control. When you hover over a picture, a Delete button is displayed and when you click it, a confirmation message pops out asking the users if they really want to delete the picture.
Now this is where the problems begins. The code behind the button click doesn't wait for the user to click YES or NO. It just executes leaving the message displayed.
So to summarize:
- The entire "bottomDIV" element is wrapped inside an UpdatePanel with update mode set to "Conditional". - Since the Button is inside the Repeater control, I cannot access its Click event. I use Repeaters ItemCommand to check for the correct Command Name. - The Repeater Control is inside the same UpdatePanel - The Update Panel has AsyncPostBackTrigger set to Repeater Control.
The HTML:
HTML Code: <asp:UpdatePanel ID ="bottomUpdate" runat ="server" UpdateMode="Conditional" > <ContentTemplate> <div id ="bottomWraper"> <div id ="savePictureWraper" runat ="server" style="float:left; padding-top:3px;" > <asp:TextBox ID ="pictureName" runat ="server" placeholder ="Naziv slike" style="width:181px;"> [Code] ....
The Script (using alertify.js to display the confirmation dialog):
HTML Code: <script> $("[id*=btnDeletePicture]").on("click", function () { alertify.confirm("Confirm?", function (e) { if (e) { alertify.alert("Successful AJAX after OK");
[Code] ....
The code behind is simple and all it does it executes the delete statement and then calls the displayPictures sub again. So, why the code behind doesn't wait for the user to select an option in confirmation dialog....
I am loading an external file 'contact_us.aspx' into a jquery dialog box. the external page contains a form.When the submit button is pressed it closes the dialog box and changes the page to contact_us.aspx. is my code correct or is there a different way of doing this. see my code below, thanks.
I think my title says it all. I have a modal dialog showing up and the user can make some changes and then click a 'Save' button. I need that to totally post back the whole page. I just assumed the button would fire off regardless of the jQuery.
I need to collect additional information from the user when they initiate a delete on a radgrid. Right now I am presenting the user with a confirmation dialog box that lets them click "OK" to continue but I need to add an additional textbox to collect a reason.
I want to confirm from the user before deleting a record. I want to show a message box to confirm operation... How I do that.. I used query to delete a record on button's click event..
Has anyone implemented FancyBox to display a form where user can make an entry within a FancyBox dialog? I'm simply displaying an inline form within a FancyBox dialog but my button is not firing.If I do not set to style="display: none;", I can see my form i.e. a TextBox control and a Button control and it works fine. If I set it display: none so that I can show my form within a FancyBox dialog, it doesn't work.
1.) Have created a div with a dropdown list and ok, cancel button
2.) On document ready - registering div created on step 1 into a jQuery dialog
3.) on a javascript button click - I am opening this dialog box.
4.) Now, the problem is - the jQuery dialogbox which I have created, needs to be used by other button clicks as well on same page. Now, my div's (which is a dialog at runtime using jQuery) ok button click is already engaged with a javascript function (button1 click) and I can not associate other button's click events with it - thus stuck up here and have no clues or hit to resolve this.
