Nov 10, 2010

how to load a default file (example : noimage.gif) with fileupload if we not choose a file to upload?

here's my code:

if (FileUpload1.HasFile && FileUpload1.PostedFile == null)
{
}
else
{
binaryImage = new byte[FileUpload1.PostedFile.ContentLength];
FileUpload1.PostedFile.InputStream.Read(binaryImage, 0, binaryImage.Length);
if (ImageC.isImage(binaryImage))
{
System.Drawing.Image originalImage = new Bitmap(new MemoryStream(binaryImage));
System.Drawing.Image thumbnailImage = new Bitmap(originalImage.GetThumbnailImage(ImageC.thumbW, ImageC.thumbH, null, IntPtr.Zero));
MemoryStream thumbnailMS = new MemoryStream();
thumbnailImage.Save(thumbnailMS, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg);
binaryThumb = thumbnailMS.ToArray();
}
else
Response.Write("Format file is wrong.");
}

How To Upload A User's File To A File Server Without Using FileUpload

Oct 2, 2010

I need to upload a file (xml, pdf, etc) from the user's PC, but I need to write it directly to a file server. I cannot use FileUpload because there is no way to direct its initial upload to anything but the web server. So, how do I use the HTML INPUT to upload the file from the user's PC directly to a file server located at a different URL than the web server the web page is being hosted on?

C# - Getting XslCompiledTransform, Load To Load A File In A SharePoint List?

Mar 3, 2010

I'm having difficulties getting XslCompiledTransform.Load method to take a server path. I googled around and found that I need to do something like:

xslt.Load(System.Web.HttpContext.Server.MapPath(xslPath), XsltSettings.Default, new XmlUrlResolver());

But it returned an error saying HttpContext is null.

I also tried:

xslt.Load(System.Web.HttpServerUtility.MapPath(xslPath), XsltSettings.Default, new XmlUrlResolver());

That also returned an error saying an object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property 'System.Web.HttpServerUtility.MapPath(string)'

The xslPath has a path that points to a xsl file in Sharepoint Web. I just want XslCompiledTransform to load the xsl file with the server path. Is it possible? If so, what is the proper way or hackish way of doing it?

EDIT: I have access to a SPWeb object which contains the path to the xsl file. However when I check the ServerRelativeUrl, it just says "/MyTree/xsl.xsl". The problem here is I couldn't get the XslCompiledTransform.Load to load the file from SharePoint list.

I want to make it so that if the file exists it changes the name of it, is there any built in functionality for this? Classic ASP had a parameter so that when you upload say house.jpg, and then again it would become house(1).jpg etc etc which was useful.

C# - Getting The Path Of A File Using Fileupload Control?

Nov 22, 2010

I am using a fileupload control to display the contents of a text file in a textbox..if i use this

<asp:FileUpload ID="txtBoxInput" runat="server" Text="Browse" />
string FilePath = txtBoxInput.PostedFile.FileName;

it will get only the file name like bala.txt.i need like this D:New Folderala.txt

Instead of fileupload control i have used textbox to get the path like this D:New Folderala.txt

<asp:TextBox ID="txtBoxInput" runat="server" Width="451px"></asp:TextBox>
string FilePath = txtBoxInput.Text;

But i need browse button instead of textbox to get the path..

EDIT:My button click event

protected void buttonDisplay_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string FilePath = txtBoxInput.PostedFile.FileName;
if (File.Exists(FilePath))
{
StreamReader testTxt = new StreamReader(FilePath);
string allRead = testTxt.ReadToEnd();
testTxt.Close();
}

Display Only File Name In FileUpload Control?

I have a webpage in asp.net 3.5 that uses the FileUpload control. When a user clicks on the "Browse" button (which is part of the control) the control displays a file select popup (dialog box). When the user selects the file which they wish to upload, by default the full path to the file is shown in the textbox (which is also part of the control); however, I wish for it to only display the file name and not the full path.

VS 2015 - FileUpload Get The File Path

Mar 20, 2016

Is there a way for me to get the original file location of the file being uploaded?

File Location: "c:Program FilesTest Documentapple.txt"

If I'm going to use the FileUpload:

Code:
<asp:FileUpload runat="server" id="fileUpload"></asp:FileUpload>

Code Behind:

Code:
var filePath = Path.GetFullPath(fileUpload.PostedFile.FileName);

The code above gives me this path: "C:Program Files (x86)IIS Expressapple.txt" instead of "c:Program FilesTest Documentapple.txt"
