But if the user change the file extension of the file ( for example user could rename "test.txt" to "test.jpg" ), I can't get the real extension . What's the solution ?

When a user clicks on the "Browse" button (which is part of the control) the control displays a file select popup (dialog box). When the user selects the file which they wish to upload, by default the full path to the file is shown in the textbox (which is also part of the control); however, I wish for it to only display the file name and not the full path.

However; the FileName property of the FileUpload control will only give "xyz.doc". We are interested in obtaining the full path only and really not interested in using the control to do any upload.
Is there any way to get the full path? We would like our user to be able to browse to the target file instead typing into a textbox because the folder name could be very long and several levels deep in our organization.

I am using sqlserver 2005, vb.net and vs 2008, not that matter for this quesiton, but in case if you deem necessary. I have an fileupload control and all I am trying is to check if the uploaded file already exist in my webserver or db. I am saving the file to the file directoy but I have the file name stored in the db. So I want to check the file name in the db for duplication. If it exisist I will not save the details. How do I do this.

But, when I click upload button, it doesn't work even not arises any related error, but "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" this error arise which is not related to by problem. While, instead of .swf file, when I tried to upload .doc, .txt, it uploads without any error.

I have used ModelPopExtender here for showing it in popup.
I am using javascript function for full PostBack. In Javascript function, i am using __doPostBack for PostBack. It is working fine when i use this control in aspx page.
Problem occurs when i use this user control in another user control. It does not find javascript function.
