View 1 RepliesI was wondering how do I make a pop out box that has interactive controls in it such as buttons or checkboxes in Visual studio, I am using VB script.
View 5 RepliesI generate dynamic grids based on a count value returned from some DB tables. the code for it goes like this : I give and Id to each grid that is generated.
if (myDataList1.Count >= 1)
{
for (int i = 0; i < myDataList1.Count; i++)
{
//retrieving the exact i count from pageload
ViewState.Add("newCount", i);
//creating the dynamic grid with its corresponding gridview properties.
grvDynamic = new GridView();
grvDynamic.ID = "GridView" + (i+3);
grvDynamic.AutoGenerateColumns = false;
grvDynamic.RowCreated += GridViewRowCreated;
grvDynamic.RowDataBound += grvDynamic_RowDataBound;
//adding bound field columns to retrieve data from stored proc
BoundField metric = new BoundField();
metric.HeaderText = "Goal ";
metric.DataField = "metric";
grvDynamic.Columns.Add(metric);
BoundField mtd = new BoundField();
mtd.HeaderText = "MTD";
mtd.DataField = "value_MTD";
grvDynamic.Columns.Add(mtd);
BoundField goal = new BoundField();
goal.HeaderText = "Tier Level Achieved";
goal.DataField = "value_goal";
goal.HeaderStyle.Width = Unit.Percentage(10);
grvDynamic.Columns.Add(goal);
BoundField you1 = new BoundField();
you1.HeaderText = "Month End";
you1.DataField = "firstLevel_you";
grvDynamic.Columns.Add(you1);
BoundField you2 = new BoundField();
you2.HeaderText = "Month End";
you2.DataField = "secondLevel_you";
grvDynamic.Columns.Add(you2);
ButtonField singleClick = new ButtonField();
singleClick.CommandName = "clickHyperlink";
singleClick.Visible = false;
grvDynamic.Columns.Add(singleClick);
BoundField metricId = new BoundField();
metricId.HeaderText = "Metric Id";
metricId.DataField = "metricID";
metricId.Visible = true;
grvDynamic.Columns.Add(metricId);
//binding the gridview to data.
grvDynamic.DataSource = data;
grvDynamic.DataBind();
grvDynamic.Columns[5].Visible = false;
}
}
protected void grvDynamic_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e)
{
//this basically gets the metric Id's of rows with the ishyperlink flag set to 'Y'. I need to make these particular cells clickable var isClickable = (from md in myDataList3 where md.IsHyperLinkFlag == 'Y' &&
md.value_MTD != null select md.metricID).ToList();
if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow)
{
// Get reference to button field in the gridview.
LinkButton _singleClickButton = (LinkButton)e.Row.Cells[5].Controls[0];
if (isClickable.Contains(Convert.ToInt32(e.Row.Cells[6].Text)))
{
e.Row.Cells[1].Style["cursor"] = "hand";
e.Row.Cells[1].Style["color"] = "blue";
e.Row.Cells[1].Style["textdecoration"] = "Underline";
e.Row.Cells[1].Attributes.Add("onClick", "window.location ='../HeaderPages/page2.aspx' ");
}
}
}
This code works perfectly fine , depending on the ishyperlink flag in the database...specific cells in the grid are made clickable and then redirected to page2.aspx My Issue: I need to capture which specific cell in which specific grid the user has clicked. store some information in sessions based on the cell clicked and use that information in page2.aspx.
I'm building an ASP.NET MVC 2 site where I'm currently implementing an OpenID sign-up form. Unfortunately, I'm foreseeing a possible security bug/vulnerability inside my architecture.
Here's how I want OpenID login to work:
User requests /Account/Login, Controller sends back OpenIDLogin View. User enters their OpenID into the View, then OpenID authorization takes place, and finally the OpenID is returned to the Controller.The Controller checks whether the OpenID is currently in use by a user in the system or not. If it is, the user is logged in to that account. If not, the registration process begins.
And now, the OpenID registration process:
The OpenID identifier, as well as any other information provided by the OpenID provider (such as email address or name), is put into my custom ViewModel and sent to my OpenIDRegistrationForm View.The RegistrationForm View stores the OpenID in a hidden field to make sure that it gets sent back to the Controller.The user fills in the RegistrationForm View and sends it back to the Controller.The Controller creates the user account and puts the OpenID into the database.
The bug that I see within my architecture is that a user could modify the hidden value in the RegistrationForm View. Thus, they could spoof their OpenID! I will make sure to add another round of checking to the final Registration Controller Action to make sure that the OpenID that is provided doesn't exist yet, but there is still a possibility for spoofing. Can my architecture be improved somehow? I don't want this to end badly...
One solution I'm considering is encrypting the OpenID before I send it to the View and then decrypting it when it reaches the Controller. Should I try this?
I'm using asp.net with vb.net on my web application. I also have an SQL database which I need the 2d graphical "game" page to communicate with. Which programming language would be best for this? The user has to be able to click on an item and retrieve information from the SQL database, I don't know if java can link up with SQL
View 4 RepliesI was wondering how to be able to develop an interactive pop out box that enables users to be able to have checkboxes and buttons in the pop out box.
View 2 RepliesAny good starter-kits / examples showing some simple interactive animations in a web page? Is additional software required?
View 3 RepliesI have a JPEG with of a tree in a HTML page.I have events that fire when the mouse rolls over properties of the tree. View 2 RepliesI would like to know how to build interactive dashboards using sql server reporting services. I am using the .rdl reports where I can generate a static gauge report but I want my user to interact with gauge at runtime to see its effects .I hope am making myself clear.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to make some sort of map, where users can select a coordinate on it, and get certain information about it. (it's for a game). Is there anyway to do this in vb.net/asp.net?
View 5 RepliesIs there any way to unsort a sorted report without refreshing it? For example we a provide the interactive sorting feature in some of our reports and one of the user is requesting for the data to go back to the original unsorted condition, after he sortsit. We have recommended the option to refresh the report but according to the user it takes too long. Does any one know of any unsort feature or code for SSRS 2005 that will do the job without refreshing the whole dataset?
View 1 RepliesI want to create an interactive website using aspx and ajax, that there will be an option to create chess game room for example and other players will be able to join.
I have 2 Questions:
how can I make that after one player clicks on a button and finish his turn, the other player will be able to do a move. After the first player finish his turn I will change the turn by using the database, but the point is how can I refresh the other player's site so when the other one finish his turn, the turn will come to the second player? When someone creates a room and than close his browser - I need that room to be closed. Shall I use the Session_OnEnd to close the room he opened?

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to implement Google Interactive chart inside an updatepanel.
The regular Google Charts do work (I think because there I'm just calling an URL).
But now I want the interactive chart inside an updatepanel within a tabcontainer etc. But now the request to Google is made, resulting in an infinitely loading white page to Google.
How can I get this to work?
See my FULL code below.

I want to make a bar chart from the google analytics data. Current implemetation of the bar chart in my site is by See Analytics I am developing an ASP.NET website and this See Analytics is using PHP and jQuery to conjure the chart. It is also paid. What my client would like is a similar tool that draws chart from analytics, without a PHP Component in it. ie. A similar tool using ASP.NET and jQuery/javascript. What I would like is to get that tool for free(open source).
View 3 RepliesI am looking for a charting tool to generate charts in my ASP.Net page which will allow me to customize the charts to a great extent like changing the background of chart, specfying custom x and y axis and much more.Moreover, another major requirement is that the chart should be interactive enough. I would like to select data points on my chart, select a range of data points on charts by making a selction with mouse clicks and use these selections for further processing.

This works fine, except I store my font size (thisTempLabel.fontSize) in pixels. I can't for the life of me work out how to convert them (probably impossible) or what to do to resolve this.
They come out sort of right, but not in the right position by a bit and a bit too big.
I am creating an web application for my tae kwon do club. People are able to register online for a tournament. After the registration deadline the web application generates a dendrogram. Something like this: how to draw it. Because of the fact that there are my weight and age categories i have to draw them dynamicly for each group.What is the easiest way to draw this inside a MVC view?
View 2 RepliesUsing C# I was trying to develop the following two. The way I am doing it may have some problem and need your kind advice. In addition, I dont know whether there is any existing method to do the same.
private static String HexConverter(System.Drawing.Color c)
{
String rtn = String.Empty;
try
{
rtn = "#" + c.R.ToString("X2") + c.G.ToString("X2") + c.B.ToString("X2");
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
//doing nothing
}
return rtn;
}
private static String RGBConverter(System.Drawing.Color c)
{
String rtn = String.Empty;
try
{
rtn = "RGB(" + c.R.ToString() + "," + c.G.ToString() + "," + c.B.ToString() + ")";
}
catch (Exception ex)
{
//doing nothing
}
return rtn;
}
SPAM I want to design a web site interface as it is shown int this example web site which has a centred image.
I think I should use margin to put the body in the web page. the header and the footer div will be above and under the box.
the last thing is the web page is considered to be resized according to the browsers behaviour. For instance the bigger window the bigger page the slow window the small page. You may check it by resizing the windows size of SPAM how can I do it?
I am generating a pdf file in asp.net c# using itextsharp. i am not able to draw a horizontal line/verticle line/dotted line.
i tried to draw a line using the following code,i am getting no errors but the line is also not getting displayed in the pdf file
PdfContentByte cb = wri.DirectContent;
cb.SetLineWidth(2.0f); // Make a bit thicker than 1.0 default
cb.MoveTo(20, pdfDocument.Top - 40f);
cb.LineTo(400, pdfDocument.Top - 40f);
cb.Stroke();
What is the problem in the code.Is it because of the position of x y co-ordinates? I had used rough points to know approximate position in pdf,but the line never apears in the pdf file.
The output i am looking out for is as shown in image below.
How do i import system.drawing into a page. I tried youtubeing and google but nothing really worked. I know its suppose to be in code behind page but how??/
View 4 RepliesI am developing an application that stores images as Base64 strings in xml files. I also want to allow the user to crop the image before saving it to the file, preferably all in memory without having to save a temp file, and then delete it afterwards. In order to display the newly uploaded image, I need to create a HTTP handler that I can bind the asp:Image to. The only examples for doing this online require passing the .ashx an ID and then pulling the image from a DB or other data store. Is it possible to somehow pass the raw data to the .ashx in order to get back the image?
