Refreshing The Gridview Of A Previous Page?

Feb 16, 2010

I'm developing a web application in ASP.NET 2.0 using C#. In this application in one of the pages i have a grid view which is populated from database on click ofa search button in that page.

On double clicking on any of the rows of the gridview, the particular row's details are populated in to new page. If the user modifies any details and saves i have to redirect to the previous page (i.e.. the page with the gridview). I used history.back(), the page gets redirected but the changes are not being updated in the grid as that doesn't get refreshed.

Forms Data Controls :: When Use The Previous Button To Navigate Back To The Previous Step The Page Reloads But At The Bottom Of The Page?

Aug 2, 2010

I'm using a wizard control with 4 steps, when I use the previous button to navigate back to the previous step the page reloads but at the bottom of the page.Instead of showning the whole of the page, the user views the footer of the site and the previous button and next button.I'm sure there is a very simple answer to this but I just can't figure out how to get the page to reload to the top.

At that time, users using their laptop clicks on the link to that site and sees that particular PPT slide loaded on the server. AJAX :: Using Browser Back To Previous Page Containing Gridview Inside Update Panel?

Aug 6, 2010

Looking for the best technique on handling or at least some documentation showing an example.

Starting Page

Gridview control withing an update panel (also various controls used for filtering NOT IN UPDATE PANEL)

Databinding does not happen during page load.

Databinding is initiated when update panel trigger (asp:Button object) is clicked

Hyperlink column is added to returned records

Hyperlink posts to a separate page for detail for record which the hyperlink was clicked.

Second Page

While navigating via the browser back button to previous page (which contained the update panel and gridview) only the (various controls used for filtering) have retained state. The gridview is not shown (which is how the page loads initially when starting) How can I retain the state of the Gridview and add a step in the browser history all together?

Forms Data Controls :: GridView Page Returns Data From The Previous?

Feb 27, 2011

I am using a Gridview binded to a LinqDataSource that represents a database view. The gridview paging is enabled. When navigating from page 1 to page 2, it displays the right count of rows in this page (assume pagesize is 10 and page 2 should have 4 rows only to have total of 14 rows in the view; the datasource), however, it populates wrong data (from the previous page). On the contrary, when I disable paging, everything works ok.

Web Forms :: Refreshing Content Page From Master Page?

Jan 21, 2011

I am having an issue with content page refresh, when I change something in master page. My scenario is, I have a login button present in master page, on click of which am loading a modal popup with login controls. Once the credentials are valid, i am hiding the modal popup and stroing the user authentication result in a Session object. In content page's page load event, I am checking for this session object, for showing/hiding some of the controls based on the user logged in.The problem is, after login, the content page is not getting reloaded and proper controls are not shown to the user. To make the content page refresh programmatically, i added an UpdatePanel in content page and refreshed it after login button click event in master page. But still content page is not getting refreshed.

btnLogin_Click(){
//Check login credentials
if(success){

Layout To Refresh Content Without Refreshing The Whole Page On ASP.NET Web Page?

Aug 24, 2010

I am a beginner to web development and ASP.NET. I am creating a web application (not public, so SEO, bookmarking etc. is of no concern) with the typical layout of header on top, Navigation on the left, content on the right. I want the content to update without the whole page reloading when selecting something on the navigation bar. What is the typical way to implement this? MasterPage with ContentPages and using an UpdatePanel (tried this, but does not seem to work, I guess because the URL is different for each content page)? Using Frames? Using an iFrame for the content part? UserControls for the content part

C# - Update Image In Page From Memory Without Refreshing The Page?

Apr 3, 2010

I have a command line C# server and an ASP.NET client, they both communicate via .NET Remoting. The server is sending the client still images grabbed from a webcam at say 2 frames a second. I can pass the images down to the client via a remote method call and the image ends up in this client method:

public void Update(System.Drawing.Image currentFrame)
{
// I need to display the currentFrame on my page.
}

How do i display the image on the a page without saving the image to the hard disc? If it was a winForms app i could pass currentFrame to a picturebox ie. picturebox.Image = currentFrame.The above Update method gets fired at least 2 times a second. If the client was a winForms app i could simply put picturebox.Image = currentFrame and the current frame on the screen would automatically get updated. How do i achieve the same effect with ASP.NET? Will the whole page need to be reloaded etc?

Page Is Parsing Through Previous Pages PageLoad Event And Loading New Page?

Jun 25, 2010

In my Home page I have a link to my Details page. When I click on the link it goes to the Details page Page Load Function like its suppose to, but when it finishes it goes back to the Home pages Page Load Function. Then loads the Details page. So it parses the old pages Page Load Function for somewhat no apparent reason, because in the end it loads the Details page. This only happens when I click on the link to my Details page. When I click on other links to other pages, it doesn't do this. For some reason only my Details page. I went through the code to see what could be causing this but have no clue. I included below the complete .aspx.vb for my Details page. What could be causing this? Again this ONLY happens when going to my Details page.

How To Raise Load Event On Previous Page With Cross Page Postbacks

Feb 21, 2010

I'm working on a wizard-like set of page, and I'm relying on cross page postbacks to navigate between them.

I need to be able to trigger the Load event on the previous page in order to save the form data for the page.

I've been told that for situations of this sort all I had to do is access the PreviousPage property in the destination page and this would trigger the load event of the previous page but for some reason this doesn't seem to be working.

Is there anything else I can do to explicitly trigger the load event on the previouspage if the PreviousPage property is not null?
