View 1 RepliesI've a date picker in a .NET page. I've seen that sometimes (on the same PC) I show date in UK format (mm/dd/yyyy) and sometimes in (dd/mm/yyyy)
.... I want only IT format (dd/mm/yyyy) ... why sometimes I show UK format?
Is it possible to set the format and don't have this problem?
I have a datepicker which shows date in format dd/MM/yyyy(i know i coould change there itself but by client want it that way) and in database its in format MM/dd/yyyy so i do want to convert in that way.

View 2 RepliesI wanted to write a regular expression using the ASP.Net RegExp validator that would ensure a field contains only numeric and decimal values, and at least one character.
^[0-9]{1,40}(.[0-9]{1,2})?$
Essentially: [0-9]{1,40} - meaning at least one to 40 numeric characters.The ASP.Net regexp validator does not fire for an empty field - where there is not at least one character.

I am trying to check for a condition such that a date in an input control (textbox) is not greater from a date 1 years from current date(exactly) and also it should not be less than a date 1 year back from current date. for eg. if today's date is "21/dec/1990" then usen cannot enter a date in textbox which is less than 21/dec/89 and it should not be greater than 21/dec/1991. for this i first tried to confirm the greater than condition, i wrote the following code:
<asp:TextBox
ID="TxtSessionFrom"
runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:CompareValidator
ID="CompareValidator1"
runat="server"
ControlToValidate="TxtSessionFrom"
ErrorMessage="CompareValidator"
Operator="GreaterThanEqual"
Type="Date"></asp:CompareValidator>
CompareValidator1.ValueToCompare=(DateTime.Now.AddYears(1).ToString());
but this gave an error: The value '' of the ValueToCompare property of 'CompareValidator1' cannot be converted to type 'Date'.
I have a regular expression validation control initialized to validate a textbox control. I want users to be able to enter U.S. Currency values ($12,115.85 or 1500.22 etc.). I found a regular expression off of regexlib website that does the trick. The validation control seems to be working except for one crucial thing. If invalid data is entered, the validation text dispalys (a red "*" next to the textbox), but the page will still submit and the error message won't pop up... I thought that the error message is supposed to display and the page won't submit if the validation control detects invalid data. Isn't this automatic with ASP .NET? I have searched extensively on how to create validation controls, but haven't found anything different than what I am already doing. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here?
<asp:TextBox ID="txtActualCost" runat="server" Width="120px" CausesValidation="true"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:RegularExpressionValidator ID="regExValActualCost"
ControlToValidate="txtActualCost"
[code]...
<asp:RangeValidator ID="RangeValidator1" runat="server" Display="static" ControlToValidate="txtcpwd"
ErrorMessage="Password must be minimum 6 & max 8 characters" Type="String" MinimumValue="6"
MaximumValue="8" Visible="false">
Even if I have minimum 6 characters its still displaying the message.

Conn.execute("Insert Into Table Dt Values ('" & X & "'")
I get a error as String was not a recognised datetime format.

View 3 RepliesI have the following date in string format "2011-29-01 12:00 am" . Now I am trying to convert that to datetime format with the following code:
DateTime.TryParse(dateTime, out dt);
But I am alwayws getting dt as {1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM} , Can you tell me why ? and how can I convert that string to date.
EDIT:
I just saw everybody mentioned to use format argument. I will mention now that I can't use the format parameter as I have some setting to select the custom dateformat what user wants, and based on that user is able to get the date in textbox in that format automatically via jQuery datepicker.
I am selecting the date field in the 'dd-mm-yyyy' format by using SQL Codes(103,105...).While inserting I want the userto insert the date in same format(dd-mm-yyyy) but it will not happening as in SQL Server we need to insert the date in'mm-dd-yyyy' format.Pls send me insertion query in sql to achieve this.Pls respond me ASAP.
