What is happening is that when I add my gridviews to these nested panels, the panel is just getting larger, the scroll bars are not scrolling, in other words the panels are stretching rather than their height staying fixed.
i have a multiline textbox with scrolling enabled and everything works fine in internet explorer but in mozilla firefox it doesnt scroll . whats the problem?
I have a an asp.net label control on my page.I have set the style to overflow: auto.
What i would like to know, is when there is a lot of text in my label and the vertical scroll bar is showing, is there away i can scroll to the end of the label using javascript?I would like the user to always see the bottom section of the label.
I don't think this is possible at all, but does anyone know a way to get 2 vertical scroll bars on a panel? Right now here's the code:
[code]....
There's a GridView inside the panel and it's so wide that scrolling all the way over to the right to scroll down causes the client to lose their position on the page and would like a scrollbar provided on the left (keeping the one on the right) if it's possible, anyone know of a way to do that?
I have a form that allows users to enter replies and then display them. I would like the entry and display fields to be multiline but limit the number af characters and not display the scroll bars??
I'm not even sure how to describe this problem to you, so I'll just show you: [URL] How can I get the report to show without scroll bars? There's plenty of space below for the report to expand.
I have a page with two updatepanels both using a timer's tick event to do various bits. The script manager is set to conditional updates and the panels are set up to use specified triggers but when the tick event fires for either the page flickers and the scrollbars reset to midway down the page. This renders my application unusuable.
I have gridview placed inside panel and allowed paging. I have used the code which is in the link URL...The problem is with the alignment. Is there any solution for this?Â
I am building an application using masterpages, one of the pages contains dynamic gridviews with textboxes using templates. The textboxes have the autopostback enables to allow the calculation of the numeric values entered in each row.
The grid has 3 cols (3rd col has the total of the first and sec cols) the problem is that when i change the textbox (therefore a postback is created) the page scrolls up.
I tried the Page.MaintainScrollPositionOnPostBack = True but it does not work. Can i use any other method to solve this poblem.?
I have created a Wep Application Pick List for the company I work for. The page looks great on the web, but when we go to print the document, the gridview rows are getting split and it looks generally bad. This is not acceptable behavior for this page, so Ineed to be able to page-break the document after so many rows.
Gridview1               1 row Gridview2         1 row Gridview3         1-100 rows Â
per record, this document could have 10 to 20 rows of the first two  gridviews and a minimum of 1 and a top end of unknown size. I am thinking I need a page-break on the first page after four or five rows. while the second page may be able to contain more. URL....  <asp:GridView ID="PickListGV" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="false" AlternatingRowStyle-BackColor="#FFFFFF" HeaderStyle-Height="25px" OnRowDataBound="PickListGV_OnRowDataBound" DataKeyNames="PDH_OUR_PART" CssClass="PL_GV"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="PDH_OUR_PART" HeaderText="Part Number"> <ItemStyle Width="15%" />
I have a page that has 3 nested repeaters. For the first two repeaters, the repeater's ItemDataBound event binds the next lower repeater. This works fine for the data that I have, but causes a large amount of data to load all at once on Page_Load. Is it possible to use collapsible panels with nested repeaters in such a way that the data only loads when the user clicks a particular linkbutton?
Anyway, on the inner grid I am allowing the user to delete rows. However when the page posts back I am unable to reopen the row that was opened. I have tried the RegisterStartupScript, etc. in the code behind but am unable to trigger the event. I have tried the code behind to find the row that is expanded but that was unsuccessful also. How can I have the row expanded when the page posts back?
What would be the way to show a treeview in MVC - I realise from looking around that there is no real way of doing this without using jQuery. I have a model which contains multiple levels of data and need to display this in a hierachical way - can anyone point me in the right direction - I have googled and searched a fair bit but not came across anything useful as yet. I could really do with using the Ajax collapsible panel control - is there any way to use this in an MVC view?
I have a nested gridview containing gridviews: gvMaster(Parent) and gvAlternate(Child)
If I select a row in gvAlternate is there a way for me to find out what gvMaster row it is under? I want to highlight the selected gvAlternate row and the gvMaster row that it is under.
[code]....
I can get a certain set of rows of gvAlternate only by referencing which gvAlternate control set I want to access: this is based on the gvMaster.Rows and then using the FindControl and id name:
Therefore, it is true that a set of rows in a nested gridview is tied to a specific row in its master gridview, the question is does the child gridview know which set it's connected to or does it's master know if a childset has been selected?
I have a complicated report that nests six deep and so really hits the database hard. I want to use SqlDataReaders NOT DataAdapters and DataSets because I don't want big tables in memory.
MARS can get me the data fast, all from the one connection. But all the examples show it binding to a treeview.
I want to bind it to nested GridViews (six deep!).
Any examples of MARS binding to nested gridview/list/repeater controls of any kind?
I'm developing a bilingual web site, and therefore, I'm changing the text of the headings and the select buttons of my gridviews. I just discovered that if I set some code like below in the rowdatabound event of the gridview, the "linkbuttonish" headings get replaced by unclickable text. In another thread, I was told to change
If Session("lang") = "en" Then If e.Row.RowType = DataControlRowType.Header Then e.Row.Cells("name").Text = "Given name"[cod]...
in the myGV_DataBound sub. This works well, but not everywhere. A few gridviews are populated from codebehind, and this is where things go wrong. What happens is that - nothing happens (it's still the original heading). I added a Watch, but once the HeaderText property changed, the Watch never yielded another result, but stayed with the new value.
Now I suspect that even though the HeaderText property has changed, this doesn't get reflected in the GV when populated from codebehind.
I guess that I should write something else than "e.Row.Cells("name").Text" to still have the click-behaviour, but I don't know what.
The same question arises for the select linkbutton in a cell of the gridview's datarows.
I have a nested gridview dynamically added. It seems I resolved all issues with the loading this control on a parent page along with other controls and I can trigger the edit of the first level - the master part of the gridview. However, I cannot trigger the edit on a child gridview.
OnRowEditing="grdChildGridEdit_RowEditing"
The master and the child gridviews have objectdatasources in a markup but I have to do the additional data binding after the loading the control on the parent page (see the code below). I'm doing that additional data binding only for the master gridview that is working fine and shows the data for the master and the child gridviews. When I click the Edit button on the master gridview it shows text boxes for the editing but when I click the Edit button on the child gridview it's doing nothing and moreover the editing mode for the master gridview is going back to the initial stage (labels).
I was trying to trigger it throughuse the registering the event:
I have added autocompleteextender in page . It was working without parameters , when i have added parameters "pretext","count" it stops working. below are my code :
<div> <asp:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server"> <Services> <asp:ServiceReference Path="~/Admin/WebService1.asmx" /> </Services> </asp:ToolkitScriptManager> <asp:TextBox ID="TextboxCompletelist" runat="server"></asp:TextBox> <asp:AutoCompleteExtender ID="TextboxCompletelist_AutoCompleteExtender" runat="server" ServiceMethod="GetCompletionList" Enabled="True" ServicePath="~/Admin/WebService1.asmx" TargetControlID="TextboxCompletelist" CompletionSetCount="10"> </asp:AutoCompleteExtender> </div> namespace AgentService [WebService(Namespace = [URL] [WebServiceBinding(ConformsTo = WsiProfiles.BasicProfile1_1)] [ToolboxItem(false)] [System.Web.Script.Services.ScriptService] public class WebService1 : System.Web.Services.WebService { [WebMethod] public static string[] GetCompletionList(string PrefixText, int count) { string countryname; SqlParameter[] parm = new SqlParameter[1]; parm[0] = new SqlParameter("@PrefixText", PrefixText); DataTable dt = SqlHelper.ExecuteDataset(AppSetting.ActivateConnection, CommandType.StoredProcedure, "FetchAutoCompleteStates",parm).Tables[0]; List<string> items = new List<string>(); for (int i = 0; i <= dt.Rows.Count-1; i++) { countryname = dt.Rows[i]["statename"].ToString(); items.Add(countryname); } return items.ToArray(); }
I have a dropdown list, where when I select OPTION value a Textbox appears. The issue is that when, I submit directly the required filed errors gives me message for both ie for dropdown and Textbox. It should only give error for dropdown.Â
Second thing,Â
The textbox validation is not firing when submitted without any value in it.
