Session State Must Get Destroyed Each Time Building Project In Web Applications?

is session state must get destroyed each time we are building our project in web applications? this is really annoying because i have to re-log and get to the page i'm currently working on each time i need to build my project...
I'm using the beta version of Visual Studio 2010. I'm running my ASP.NET 4.0 website through the debugger. Whenever there is a page load (e.g. clicking on a link, a postback) the session is ended and a new session is created. This wipes out all the session variables and makes debugging impossible. How to get session variables to persist across page loads?
Is this problem unique to running ASP.NET in a test environment or unique to the beta 2 version of VS 2010?
I've been worked with web services so far, and I'm interested in expanding my services to console applications as well so I started digging up with WCF but I'm conserned that I won't be able to use the HttpContext collection that I've been used to do with web services one important thing which is to generate a random value from HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["ALL_HTTP"] that I need to reckon if it's the same or at least near what machine that is calling my service. How can I overcome this problem?
I need to know what machine is calling to count the number of attempts to login into my system for example. So must do it inside of the svc code otherwise if I let the client inform what ip address or what computer he is using, anyone could forge this argument and surpass by another machine. May be I'm approaching this matter wrongly. And I should count the number of attempts per state session, but how is it done?
There are two pages in my app, A and B.A is login page from which user ID was saved in a session. Once user login, B is open and user ID will display in B. When user submitted an order successfully at page B, page B will reopen but user ID was missed. How to fix it to keep session value in 20 minutes as default? I check IIS, session time out time is 60 minutes.
I would like to share the session variables between 2 applications. basically I have a website and in there I have 2 applications and want to share the session object betwen the two. Is there a way to set something in web.config to enable this?
i have two applications hosted on two different domains and both use a single login info so my question is how can i use / share same session across two application.
I have 2 applications App1 and App2 on same domain, both with Forms authentication, each using a different database instance for authentication.
First, I open a browser with application www.mydomain.com/App1 and log on.
After that, when I open another instance of the same browser with application www.mydomain.com/App2 and log on, first browser loses session and goes back to login page.
I need each application on same domain to have its own session so that both can stay logged on.
I have two different IIS applications within the same domain(let us say www.mydomain.com) , both of these applications use the same database instance(same connectionstring), now what I want is that both of applications can see each sessions variables , can SQL Server session state mode helps in this case? Did someone try that before? Is there any other way to share the session variables?
I'm still debugging my application so it's on the local server. As I debug and stop then debug again, eventually lblNoOfUsers.text turns to "0" instead of "1", even as I'm navigating my application. It only turns to "1" again if I log out and sign back in. It's almost as though Membership.GetNumberOfUsersOnline my login are referencing two different session states. How is this possible? Does asp.net create a new session state cookie each time I start debugging?
is my session related tag in web.config file but most of the time if i idle 20 minutes then its automatically timedout and went to my login page, is there any solution ?
I am planning to create a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) application. I have to use C# and Visual Studio 2008. What is the best approach to get started and what resources can I use to make this process easier?
I have developed application in ASP.NET and placed on UAT server (windows XP IIS) where it worked fine but since I moved on production server (windows 2003 + IIS) after sometime its keep on expiring the session.
Please suggest urgently if possible how i can make it not to expire session at all.
I want to be able to detect from C# code how long ago a user logged into the site. I need to take a particular action if it is their first time logging in. IsNewSession does not work, unfortunately.
I set session timeout is 30 at my webconfig. But when i upload a file and click submit button already session timeout. I uploaded 1kb file. I can submit 1 time.
where to create the BLL and DAL and all classes in it can we place them in the App_code folder as it ll convert them into DLL Files or do we have to create a new class library project for each...
I totally have no idea on how to do this. How can I get the time everytime the user use my system. We are using AD account here so we don't have login and log out. All I want is as long as the user browse to my system whether he is working or it or not become away or any, I will record its time and save it in my database then accumulate all the time he spent in my system for admin reporting.
I am using asp.net mvc 2.0 to implement shopping cart application. My situation is , I have a order page, there i am adding the products to the Cart.Below it will show the Cart total.Next i will go to the shopping cart page to delete or editing the items. In this page it will show the same cart total as in the Order page.
But once again if i go back to the Order page to order some more products to the cart, the cart total in the order page is showing 0 amount. This is my Shopping cart controller action method,
public ActionResult ShoppingCart(int eventID) { Event e = eRepository.GetEvent(eventID); var cart = Stalbans.Models.ShoppingCart.GetCart(this.HttpContext);
[Code]....
So once i will go to the shopping cart page from the order page and again coming back to the order page it has to show the same cart total. Actually data is persisted in the cart total but it is not showing .Because if you add one more item its amount will added to the existimng cart total and then shows the current cart total. So for the first time i click back at that it has to show the already existed cart total in the cart total value.
I am working on a asp.net 3.5 app. In the Global.asax in the Application_Error method, I am logging everthing to ddatabase (log4Net).
I have a session limit of 20 minutes. What happens when the user hits that limit and then clicks on the Submit Button of the app. ?Will that generate any exception? and will that exception be logged into my database as I am logging all exceptions in my Application_Error method.
I am writing a chat application, in which a chat starts in a chat room. Now, i want this room active only for a certain amount of time and not more. i.e 1 hour etc. So, to check the time constantly what and how should i write something in the background, so that when the time is over, the sessions of all the users logged in at that chat room get destroyed. And the users are again redirected to the login page. e.g The chat has been setup from 3 to 4 pm. At 3.55 everybody should be given a popup that the chat will end in 5 mins. And at 4 everybodys session should be destroyed and they should be redirected to the login page.
