Sql - Upload Image During Registration?
Mar 21, 2010
I am developing a student registration form in asp.net. there are two tables viz std_registration and gallery(having pic_id and pic_url). During registration, before the click of submit button i want to retrieve pic_id from gallery table and then pass it to the insert query of registration table. image upload is an optional part. if no image is uploaded i want a default image to get uploaded.

I have following Modal Dialog (popup) using only CSS3 in my asp page for user registration:
HTML :
<%-- Modal PopUp starts here--%>
<div id="openModal" class="modalDialog">
<div><a href="#close" title="Close" class="close" onclick="DisableAllPopUpTxt()">X</a>
[Code].....
<a href="#openModal" id="DialogLink" style="color: #FFFFFF; font-weight: bold">Register</a>
Now the problem is:
As this is registration form, I want server side validation of existing email id .If user entered email id already exist in DB I want to reopen the above modal dialog (automatically) with an error massage Email ID already exist.
I m not able to reopen that dialog box.

We have a scenario where we would like to allow our users to upload images to the site. We are running on ASP.Net. A quick search did not result in anything good. It would be great if the control is free/open source but we do not mind paying a little bit.

I'm using a slightly modified version of Valum's upload [github link], I've modified it to upload to a database but haven't modified the javascript that it is using to get the file into the Request as an InputStream. The following line of code is failing in IE 8 but is confirmed to work in Chrome. using (Image imgInput = Image.FromStream(Request.InputStream)) The error received is "Parameter not valid". It appears to be having an issue with the Input Stream being used but it exists/has data (not sure how to validate if the data is good or not).

I'm having an image in my page displayed to clients form a folder under same apllication folder,I also have a form in the same page that accepts an image file to be uploaded. The image that is uploaded via this form should take the place of the image that's displayed in the page with the name newly givven at runtime. The new image should be uploaded in the same directory with the new name provided, which means it overwrites the previous image.

i am using file upload control in ASP.NET for uploading images. In my form there are two buttons.one for assigning criteria which redirects to other form and other for submitting form. After assigning criteria only the user has to use submit button. My problem is when is upload image and click on AssignCriteria button and return back to original page,the upload control is getting blank. How to keep that upload image control value in that textbox even if we redirected to other page and come back.

I have to implement an image upload functionality in asp.net. The method I have followed works like this :-
Submit a form containing an <input type='file'> element and set the target of the form to a named iframe[to give the impression of a Ajax request/response ]. The aspx file which this form is posted to, writes the image into the response as Reponse.Write("<img src='location'/>"); The image displayed is due for cropping (where i plan to use JCrop).
What I would like to know is : Is there another way to display the image in a <div> may be, rather than in an iframe which I think is far better than this approach.
