Trying To Import A Value From An SQL Database And Simply Add It To Another Predefined Value?
Jun 30, 2010
I am currently trying to import a value from an SQL database and simply add it to another predefined value.
The problem I am having is that upon trying to add the two values together I am receiving a type mismatch error.
neww = 0
values = objRS1("Amount Including VAT")
neww = neww + values

ArrayList list = acontroller.ListForDisplay(articleModule.expireDate);
How can I get the "list" only display 10 items?
I don't want to set the number to display with stored procedure.
I've got another unrelated question, - from performance perspective, is it more efficient to sort data in stored procedure than sort using "icomparable" after I got a list of data into an arraylist? (30,000 record to sort.

Given a GridView control defined like this:
[code]....
The "FilePath" and "AttachmentID" fields are being set correctly in the grid, however, the CheckBox control is never set correctly; it is always unchecked.
My question:
How do I get this CheckBox field set from C# as I'm creating the new row?
P.S. I am not sure if I am creating the row correctly in the first place.

For some reason neither SQL managment studio nor import and export wizard works on my friends network due to some security policy
i asked a question about OSQL two days ago and StackOverflow guys told me it is going to be obselete and that i should use SQLCMD instead.
to cut long things short my question is very precise:
using SQLCMD..1-need to import and export command from AND to MDB/MDF
2-need attach / detach commands

I am pretty good with HTML, PHP & MYSQL but this is my first go at working with a windows host and an ASP script. I recently purchased a script that matches my clients needs and when i have opened the folder to view the files its all double dutch to me apart from one css files which makes perfect sense to me!
Im stuck with is the database file included in the template, i ave been unable to import it into MSSQL using 'My Little Admin' which is the control panel provided by my hosting provider. Looking through the file with notepad it seems to contain the information for several tables but i cannot figure out for the life of me how i import it with 'My Little Admin'

I am developing a web dashboard under a deadline. We are interested in making a demo release before the dashboard has been fully developed. It does not currently have the concept of a logged in user.
The state of the web dashboard is currently saved into Session. All my classes are serializable, and I was able to set my SessionState Mode to SQL Server and write Session to a SQL Database. I would be able to use this to serve my purposes, but I have been unable to figure out how, if possible.
The goal is this: "Represent the saved state of the web dashboard as text and be able to load the state of the dashboard on another computer." The method to me was to write XML to a text file and be able to move that text file to another computer, point at it, and load my state again.
My issue with writing Session State to a SQL Server is that when the Session expires (browser closed/time out) I am unable to load the old data up onto the page. If there was a way to say "Take the data from session state _ and load it onto the page" I would be golden. As far as I can tell this isn't possible.

What am I missing here. I just want to pull the first one returned from row.detail in an MVC2 view, how would i do this without a foreach loop? This code currently works, but i just want the first one listed. I know this may be simple, but i am drawing a blank.
if (Model.App != null)
{
foreach (var row in Model.App.Instructions)
{
<input type="hidden" value="<%= row.Detail %>" id="ixd" />
}
}
