This is just a page in asp.net. I want to be able to grab the Session("UserID") but every time I try, I get this error:
Session state can only be used when enableSessionState is set to true, either in a configuration file or in the Page directive. Please also make sure that System.Web.SessionStateModule or a custom session state module is included in the \ section in the application configuration.If I put that Dim userID inside say the Page_Load Event, then it works fine. Why does it have to be inside an event? I want to dim it once, and use it throughout the page.
We are setting session variables in the login page with all user details.And in all subsequent pages we check this session variable.This check is done in the page load of master page.As the number of users increased am getting error with these session variables.This session variable is returning me "nothing" when I check and the user is redirected to logout page.Interesting thing is that this is not happening always.

first off I can't post the code, so I will do my best to try to explain what I am trying to do. I have a repeater with three literals (a member ID, a name, a uservalue) and three hyperlinks. Each of the hyperlinks goes to a different page (obviously).What I am trying to do is when the user clicks on one of the hyperlinks, (doesn't matter which one because the three literals need to be put into session variables regardless) I want the session variables set to the literal values before calling the next page.How do I get the session variables set when the user clicks on one of the hyperlinks?

I am using this to pass variable to the user control which is utilised in that page. the issue being the session variable is not getting over written on one click. it is like I have to click twice to get the value up and running.

(i) I have a simple application where I am getting data from a textbox and storing it in a cookie. I noticed that unless I set the Autopostback value of the textbox to TRUE, nothing is stored. Does anyone know why this is the case?

The click performs a postback to a second website where the value is to be displayed on a simple label.The value I initialized in the Global.asax is saved to the variable and then read on the second page, but I cannot manipulate it using the textbox and the button on the first page. I just don't get it...I even tried on different machines and different VS editions.
remember my previous post about how to use 4 timers controls for incrementing 4 individual variables. I have fixed it below is the code for doing that. But there is again a problem,I want to increment the variable "hh" by 10 at button "btnbid"'s click event (remember it'll(hh) increment by 1 at each timers tick event but when a button is pressed it'll increment by 10). When I'm trying to this it's not incrementing can any body tell me why this is happening is there any way to fix it.

Currently in an .aspx file, I am storing a value (filename that was created in that session) in an hidden text box. When the user clicks on the "Print" labeled Hyperlink control, it opens the file that was stored in the hidden text box control. But when the user goes to different screen (in the same session), I loose the filename value that is stored in the hidden text box control. So I would like to store the filename variable in a session variable. So that if the user leaves this .aspx file and comes back to this .aspx file I can load the value into the hidden text box from the session variable.

I have few textboxes on a page which are loaded dynamically on change of text in dropdownlist. The user enters values in these textboxes and clicks on a addnewitem button. In the code behind I want to capture the values entered in these textboxes. But I get the value as empty.

I am developing a web site to display some data that is inside a database. To do this I've created an ASPX web page that opens a connection to a database and retrieves the desired data. After that it populates an asp:table object dynamically.
The problem is that some of the fields that are retrieved from the database are too large to be displayed on the web page, so I decided to make a popup that would be able to display just the desired field.
To do this I've added a button to the asp:table so that when the user clicks it the popup would appear with the contents of the field. However what is happening is that when the user clicks on the button, the page just gets reloaded and the Click event handler is never called.
Below is the code in which I add the button to a TableCell, and the TableCell to the TableRow collection:

note that the popupHandler is a delegate to the function below. I am using it as a the Click event handler for testing purposes.

Also you should be aware that the table is only populated when the user clicks on a "Query" button inside the main ASPX web page, this means that I only populate the table after the PageLoad event has occurred.
I cleared session using session clear method nut does not clear in button click...

View 1 RepliesI have what I think is a weird issue. I send text from one page to another via Session Variable. When page 2 loads, the text box has the session text set, but if the user changes the text and clicks the button, the SQL database is update with the original session text. If I remove the redirect from the page 2 button_Click method, then, the page refreshes with the textbox reverting to the session text and thr SQLDataSource has the session text added to it.

I have two buttons on my web form. When clicking on the first button, the event does not fire. Here's what I've placed in the click event handler:

strDOB is needed to get the date fields into one string used in CalcularRFC for the date value. The event handler for the second button is too large to post, but currently works as expected. But, the above handler does not return a value to txtrfc. Can someone point me in the right direction?
