I have a default.aspx page that needs to be refresh every 10 sec.My solution so far is a javascript function, but it only works in Firefox and not IE.I'm looking for a way to handle the refresh mecanism in the default.aspx.cs page instead, with some sort of Timer.Any good simple sugestions/hints or solutions out there that can lead me in the right direction?
I am using a timer control on one of my updatepanels in the asp.net website.
my problem is that behind the scenes the postback is a full postback, therefore any content that is placed under any other UpdatePanel is refreshed, as well.
How can i specify the timer functionality ONLY to the specific update panel, leaving other update panels, which do not contain a timer, unrefreshed.
For example, I have master page MyMasterPage.aspx and content page MyDefault.aspx. I have many UpdatePanels at MyMaterPage.aspx, and also I have many UpdatePanels at MyDefault.aspx.
[code]....
I want JavaScript functionClickMenu(this) at input button [id="ButtonMaster1" @ MyMasterPage.aspx] pass its value ["Menu-1"] into text box [id="TextBoxDefault1" @ MyDefault.aspx], and then performing update / doing post-back to server ONLY FOR UpdatePanelDefault1.
I am looking forward an example code for JavaScript functionClickMenu(this).
Using Visual Web Developer 2010 Express. I was used to creating a web app anytime and I would get a default page for starters and be happy. But today I find that when I pick either the ASP.NET Web Site or ASP.NET Web Application templates I get site.master and a bunch of site admin files that I don't want. Alternately when I select the empty versions of those templates, I get almost nothing at all. An almost empty web.config page and no Default.aspx page. There is nothing magical about having a default.aspx page in place, but it is an indicator of a change when I can only get a virtually completely empty website or a website with a bunch of bells and whistles I don't want.
Also, for some reason, when I create a new app or website as just noted, in the Solution Explorer I get aspx.designer.cs files showing as well as web.config files for both debug and release. Somehow some settings and templates must have changed, or am I missing something here? How can I get my settings/templates to go back to the way they were?
I made an aspx site with .net 4.0 framework through visual studio and it worked perfectly in the development environment but when I upload it to the server and try to run it I get this error: Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
I am refreshing my DataGridView by calling using the code below:
[Code]....
However I want to use templates in the DataGridView like this:
[Code]....
So I would NOT be calling FillDataGridView() from Timer1_Tick.My question is: what do I have to add inside Timer1_Tick so that it will refresh my DataGridView (the one with the templates)
I have an ASP.NEt website and I want to know how can determine how long the website was idle (no activity from the user) and then based on that timer I want to automatically logout and redirect to default.aspx?
VS2010 ( Vb.net ).I have a masterpage that contains a gridview, giving stats and information on client files sent to us. This gridview is updated by means of a timer control every 10 seconds. In my grid I have an image field, to display either a tick .. if everything is ok or a cross for any problems. When the timer control timer event forces a gridview databind every 10 seconds. When the page first loads, i get the default red Cross in the gridview imagefield, however when the timer loops forces a 'databind' I lose the redCross and it is replaced with the default image control ( as if no url is set ) . Then I get a server 404 error.I am using the OnDataBound event to fire my vb sub. I have commented out evertything just to get a solid starting point but im still getting errors.
I have a button in a repeater control. It saves the data on the screen, so ideally I'd like to do this and not have the screen refresh, as there is no new data to be shown. When I am debugging using localhost, the page just sits there, the data gets saved all is well. However, when I upload the very same page and code to my host, clicking the button causes a full refresh, which as there is a lot of data, means a long wait each time.
I'm searching for an example with an client timer that ticks synchronous with an server timer. Also there must be a button on the client side which can reset the server timer to an default value, and with this it also resets the client timer ofcourse. I tried it myself but it seems that there is some postback delay which makes it impossible for me to make it atleast look like it goes synchronous.
I hope somebody got an example for me, the button part is really important because by pressing that button the delay comes.
What is the best way to go about auto refreshing an .aspx page? I have a page that is a dashboard of an application, so I'd like it to refresh itself every little while to show fresh data. Also, I'm using Master Pages. I know there is the old HTML style
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="60">
tag that you can put in the <head>, but I don't want all my pages to refresh if they are viewed, just the Dashboard page.
I've got an ASPX page set up that loads and displays dynamic data from a local SQLite database. Since the data is being written to the database from a separate C# application, I've set up my ASPX page to refresh every 30 seconds when the database has flagged itself as actively receiving new data.
On my ASPX page, I've got a TabContainer with several different TabPanels that each represent a different view of the data. Now, when my page is being refreshed, the active tab panel is being reset to the one set in my ASPX page as the ActiveTabIndex.
I was wondering if there is an easy way to persist which tab is being remembered.
Page (Picture.aspx) using a repeater displays the image ---> http://postimage.org/image/iyl7rv1g/After click on link Delete opens a new page (DeletePicture.aspx) andimages in the database set to passive stateand this page(DeletePicture) closes. How to make the images on page (Picture.aspx) refresh and passive image is not visible.
it is possible to do a request for another page on internet from page_load? I mean if it is possible to aquire markup code with informations from another page and display them on my aspx site? For example something like this:
I am working in coordination with the pHp developer, he is sending me some username, key at my aspx page and on that basis i am checking the authenticity from the DB, if authentic user then i'll do response.write("YES"), if not then i'll do response.write("NO"). The PHP developer saying that he will read my response.write and on that basis he will allow the user to get logged in to his PHP site. i want to know how will he read My response.write from ASPX page. He was saying he will read it, and will put it in session, i am very confused how will he read my response.write.
This (and the code behind) works very well when using a browser and clicking through the form. But I want to upload the file using the WebClient from C# code. I don't have to use the WebClient. I can also modify the upload.aspx to suit me, there is no requirement that it works from a browser, but this is the only example I've got working.
Looking at fiddler (I just started using it, so I probably have missed it) I could not figure out how I would create such a request from code.
At the moment when using the WebClient I am specifying the address and the local filename. I have a breakpoint in the code behind in my website but the File1 and FileId are not set (as expected).
How do I have to modify the website and how do I have to use the WebClient to get the upload working?
EDIT: Just found out about the Request.Files, that will give me the file, but how about the other fields?
I have an application that runs perfectly fine on my local machine. So it was deployed on production server and the site was running (but with some errors). So I corrected the errors and redeployed the application. But the changes are not reflecting! I am using the IIS to host the same. I tried restarting all the services, the IIS itself, the server, cleared the caches...
I have sucessfully created a .aspx form with submit button feature that publishes correctly in my development environment running localhost. I am now attempting to move this form into my public website and it will not render in the public environment, only returning the code of the form.
I am using SharePoint Server 2007 + C# + .Net 3.5 + VSTS 2008 + ASP.Net. And I am using collaboration portal template.
I am developing a custom aspx page and put it in _layout folder of a site and I want to apply default.master of the SharePoint site to this aspx page. Any samples about how to achieve this goal?
I just recently upgraded a site from 3.5 to 4.0. After editing the web.config, creating a new app Pool in IIS, configuring the site to use 4.0 and the new app Pool, I can no longer browse to any default.aspx page without explicitly typing 'default.aspx'. This site was originally written for .NET 2.0, upgraded to 3.5, and finally updated to 4.0 a few days ago.If I try to browse to http://[mysite]/ I see the following error: Server Error in '/[mysite]' Application. The resource cannot be found. Description:TTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.Requested URL: /Version Information: Microsoft .NET Framework Version:4.0.30319; ASP.NET Version:4.0.30319.1However if I browse to http://mysite/default.aspx, everything works fine.
If I undo all the changes made to the web.config, and revert the site back to the app Pool used for 2.0/3.5 the site loads and runs fine. Restarting IIS will solve the problem for an hour to a day, but the issue will always come back. Other sites running on our sever which were not originally made in 2.0, but 3.5, have upgraded to 4.0 without this issue.
