Asp.net page_load function is loading twice.. hence it affects my page performance.
Does anyone know the reason it is loading twice.

Let's say I have two pages on the same ASP.NET C# WebSite:
Page1.aspx does things in the Page_Load event
I navigate to Page2.aspx using the menu
Page2.aspx does some things then Response.Redirect back to Page1.aspx
Page1.aspx cannot do things in Page_Load event this time because it never fires.
I tried to turn off cache declaratively, tried using true for endResponse in my redirect... nothing seems to make a difference.
I'm using WebForms MVP to create some simple reporting applications. Most of these applications consist of a few search criteria inputs and a ComponentArt datagrid that I'm populating with data from the database.
Most of the markup is in a UserControl, which is in a content page with a master page. My problem is that the control's Page_Load event is firing before the control events that caused the postback in the first place. Basically, the user clicks the search button, and Page_Load is fired BEFORE Search_Click. This is messing with the databinding scheme I've been using.
So that's the question: Why is my Page_Load event firing before the event handler, and what can I do about it? I don't THINK this problem is related to WebForms MVP or ComponentArt, but obviously I could be wrong.
In a.aspx i have a textbox with ID="Textbox1".In b.aspx, i have a label with ID="Label1"I want when i open b.aspx, Label1.text = Textbox1.Text..but when i write in b.aspx Page_Load function, intellisense don't know Textbox1.

I have a heavy aspx page with lots of controls that are loaded from sql server. I use the cache were I can.On my aspx page I have an asp:Button that allows members to rebuild the page with the new content selected in each control.The page build or page_load takes about 15 sec (say). If users select the asp:button before the 15 sec page_load is completed. Some times I get performance issues with my controls. I don't get errors as I am using cache a lot etc.
QUESTION1: How can I stop a page_load event firing before the previous page_load process is completed, how do I stop impatient users getting carried away with too frequent page loads firing from the asp:button?Can I do some codebehind smarts that can nullify asp:button event while a previous page_load is process is still a work in progress.
I am designing a page wherein I want to display just parts of a page on page_load (i.e. menu bar). Then a few seconds later, I would like to display the rest of the controls (i.e. charts). Is this possible? What I currently have is a page that displays the page skeleton and then on button_click(), the rest of the page is rendered. I want to fire a button_click() event on code-behind without actually requiring the user to click on the button but can't seem to find good tutorials/articles regarding this approach.

I use tem to show/hide a Panel further down the form which is contained in an UpdatePanel with Conditional Update set and with both CheckedChanged events in the Triggers collection:

Now, the problem arises when I set the Checked property of either RadioButton in Page_Load, which results in the even not firing for the button which was marked as Checked (the event for the radio button whose property was not assigned does get fired). In fact, upon inspecting the source there was no 'onclick' attribute declared for the input element that was marked as checked in the Page_Load, whereas the other RadioButton did have the 'onclick' attribute properly set.
The layout of the form doesn't allow me to place the radio buttons within the UpdatePanel, so that is out of the question. Is the behavior explained above normal? am I missing anything? Both events fire once the assignment to the Checked property is removed from Page_Load.
I am trying to create BasePage Web.UI.Page that is inherited by my main page. But when i create public class mypage : BasePage method Page_Load of this class is not loaded in page live cycle. BasePage does not contain any Page_Load. has anybody got a clue where can be the problem?

I have an default.aspx page that I'm trying to have redirect the user to a different page depending on whether or not their deviceId is stored in the SQL Server database. It should direct the user to the login.aspx if the record for the user is found or to the newdevice.aspx page if there was no record found. I am trying to use an anchor tag to automatically scroll down to "position1" when the page loads.
I have created this name tag in the .aspx page and then trying to redirect to that tag in the page_load event but this results in that the page doesn´t load at all and cant be seen in the browser:
My aspx page is not showing latest data after reopen the page.. but after save data it shows latest information.
If I close the project and rerun the project then it shows latest data.
Interesting metter is the page_load event is not fired after thie page loaded once.
If I delete temporary internet files from tools-->internet option then the page reloaded.
I have a master page (frame.Master) and a content page (default.aspx) that uses frame.Master. Within frame.Master I have an ASP Panel control (pnlQuote). I do not want pnlQuote within frame.Master to be visiable when default.aspx loads. I am feeling that I have terribly wrong somewhere. I was working on a small asp.net app. I have some dynamic themes in the heme folder and have implemented a page base class to load the master page on the fly. The master is having the ContentPlaceHolder like: <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="cphBody" runat="server" />
Now I am adding pages that are derived from my base class and added the form elements. I know, Visual Studio has problem showing the page in the design mode. I have a dropdown box and wish to add the event of onselectedindexchange. But it is not working. the page is like this:

I have a certain function that I want to execute in the Page_Load() of EVERY page based on a master page I've created. However, sometimes, I perform other functions in the Page_Load() event as well. So, I add a Page_Load() event to both the child and master pages. I've done a little experiment by doing Response.Write("This is is the master page") (or "child page"), and both Page_Loads() seem to be firing, which is what I want. However, I notice that the child Page_Load() fires first, is there any way to reverse that?
