AJAX :: How To Set Tabcontainer ( Ajax Tool) Width Size According To Users Desktop Screen Resolution
Mar 25, 2010
I am a newbie in web development I came from win form environment. how to set tabcontainer (ASP.Net Ajax Tool) width size according to users desktop screen resolution?
I can get client screen resolution using client side script 'javascript' but i dnt want to do that I also tried Request.Browser.ScreenPixelsWidth but it always return fixed width 680.
I am using TabContainer with some controls on each tab (asp: labels, text boxes). When redirecting to the page that contains the TabContainer, the tabs and their content loads as expected, but when there is a postback, and the page refreshes, the TabContainer UI changes - the font size of the labels gets bigger, the text boxes become bigger and their location changes a bit (not aligned as before), and the tab header is partially hidden. I am using IE7.
I dont know if this is relevant but in some of the text boxes i use edit mask extender as well for date. Also, I have used a table inside the TabContainer for layouting the controls.
How would one create a website that would look the same at any resolution? I've heard of making so it will fit for a 800x600 screen but then that just screws everyone that has a higher screen resolution. I've heard about using widths that use percentages and using iframes and things like that.
What's the best way to have one website fits all resolutions?
I'm creating a optimized web page for mobile devices with C#. Is there a way to offer a page for larger screens and one for smaller screens on android devices? With Apple i can differentiate between iPad and iPhone, but how can I do this with the galaxy tab or a regular android phone?I don't want to use any javascript in this case.
I designed my page (Using ASP .net C#) in 1024*768. if resolution of the screen decresed(ex 800*600) then vertical and horizental scroll bar appear. And if resolution of the screen incresed then right side of the screen is become blank. i want whatever the screen resolution is there my page is run fine after detecting the resolution of the screen and then run.
I've been reading a lot of articles containing tips regarding in creating commercial websites and it seems the client's screen resolution is a factor here.
I'm wondering if there is a way in VB.NET to detect the screen resolution that your client is using? I really don't want to use JavaScript here, since the some clients disable the use of JavaScript.
And also, is there a way to load a Stylesheet based on the client's screen resolution? For example...
how do i create website which supports various screen resolution & Multi browser support (i.e 1024*768 ) and others using asp.net...
i have developed website in asp.net (vb) my monitor resoultion is 1024*768 but when i try to access my site in other monitor having the resolution more than 1024*768 then the controls are unmanaged .... in the webpage...
Here's the scenario:I have an asp.net webpage which displays dynamic data in a gridview.I'm using a master page to display the header and footer of the page, and this gridview is being displayed inside a div in the contentplaceholder.
The Problem:What I want is that the size of the page that is displayed remains constant for a user and must be equal to the size of their browser's available display area and the content being visible by scrolling the div.Sort of like the header and footer remain at the same position and the content inside it is scrollable.
At present we are using <ajax:TabContainer> to load tabs. I have 5 user controls inside <ajax:TabPanel>.
The problem is that all the data on these 5 pages gets loaded at once and increases the loading time as well as it is very hard to debug. Can we do lazy loading uisng TabContainer control? so that only the data of the current tab is loaded and when we click on the other tab then that's control data gets loaded.
I'm sure this question has been asked before but I have been unable to find an answer so far. I want to create a control consisting of a label, an editor control and make the editor control resizable using the ResizeControlExtender:
[Code]....
I have is to extend the control vertically, effectively making it longer, but I don't want the user to make it any wider than it parent control - effectively disabling the option to make it wider. Hopefully that makes sense - for an example, look no further than the control used to input text when creating a post.
In my webform I have a datalist that displays images that are approximately 200px each. The datalist is set to RepeatColumns = 5, RepeatDirection = Horizontal (display 5 images per row). With the padding and spacing, each datalist row takes up about 1200px in width.
The problem is that if a user with a 1024x768 or 800x600 resolution visits the page, he'll see the horizontal scrollbars. It's not really a problem, but, well...
Is there any way I can call a javascript function in page_load that will get the screen dimensions, and send that javascript result to my serverside so that I can change Datalist.RepeatColumns?
My javascript function would probably use screen.width and screen.height, but how do I send those values to my codebehind?
I am using PageMethods to send a few parameters to a webmethod in my codebehind. The method runs a stored procedure and uses the results to build a string that I am returning from the method.
Everything works fine until I try to include too many records in my results..
Once the results I am trying to return hit about 70K, the pagemethod times out even though it is taking about 1 second to process the results.
Is there a buffer limit or limit on the size or results returned from a pagemethod and if so, where can this be set or changed?
Is there a setting in the web.config somewhere to handle pagemethod buffer size?
I'm developing a web app (.NET 3.5 + C#) and i would like it to have a drag 'n drop file upload feature. But i have absolutely no idea on how to do such thing :-/
Can anyone tell me were to start? Some tutorial, some AJAX control, etc...
I am displaying image on page load event. I have difrent sizes image i want to get screen.width and screen.height values by javascript on page load event and then using to get particular size's image on page load event in asp.net with c#.
If browser not support javascript then default size will display.
m kinda new in asp.net ,i'm try to do a web form with 3 tabs but i want that the tabs will start from the right end of the screen and not from the left?is there a way to do it?i searched the properties list for such a thing , and i didn't fine it.
I'm building a html table dynamically in an ASP.NET code behind file using C#. I basically loop through a set of data which is an unknown number of records and split a string containing all the values to make the required number of tds. I display the html by assigning it to an asp:Literal control. However I can't get the table to fit the screen - the browser is adding a horizontal scroll bar and the full table is well off the screen. I tried in IE 8 and FF 3.6.13. Most things I've read online about it say to set the width to 100%. I'm doing this but it's having no effect.
I have a website that's developed in ASP.NET and uses the AJAX Toolkit (asp:ToolkitScriptManager) for a couple of extenders. The AJAX effects (e.g. ) work perfectly across IE 7, IE8, FF3.5, Safari, and Chrome. However, I embedded my site in a desktop Flex-AdobeAir application using the component which is able to run the entire site including javascript except where the AJAX is used.
I narrowed the source of the problem down to the difference between using asp:ToolkitScriptManager and asp:ScriptManager. Here's an example page that will display "Safari" in the embedded flex browser as the result of document.write(Sys.Browser.name):
<%@ Page Language="C#" %> <%@ Register assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" tagprefix="asp" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">[code]...
I created dynamic the tabpanel of tabcontainer, and the tabpanels change depended on the item which chooses from dropdownlist but the problem is tabcontainer keeping the last tabpanel and create another tabpanel and I couldn't remove them how I can rebulid the tabconatiner each postback
