SQL Server :: Create A Login Page That Will Use This Database And Table To Authenticate The Login?
Sep 24, 2010
I dont know where to start, but I have a simple issue that you may be able to resolve.
I have a SQL database that contains a table with user name / password / Account level in it.
What I am trying to do is to create a Login page that will use this database and table to authenticate the login.
I have spent some time looking about for an example, and the nearest that I have found is for an access Database, but I really need this to work with SQL.
I am trying to modify my current page to have a login. My Current page has the user select a store via a drop down List. This DDL will need to be used as the user name. I would liketo add a Password textbox and the end of the page that the user would just type in there password and hit submit to submit the form is correct or pop-up that passowrd is incorrect and re-enter. I would like to use a Database on my SQL Server to autenticate the passwortd with the store. Does anyone have any sample code that will accomplish this.
question about how to use MS Access as the aspnetdb.mdb during a login and authentication with the use of VS 2010 with framework 3.5. Reason: My current provider does not support MS SQL and only ms Access and MySQL as databases.I wanted to implement a login and authentication and based upon an artikel about ASP.net 2.0 i saw, that basically Access was the first choice in those days.Is it still possible to use Access? and how to implement this?Is this a matter of using connectionstrings inside web.config with Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 ?Hope that i get an answer which i understand, since my knowledge about these things is not that big.
I'm trying to make a shopping cart and i've reached where I can select the item and view it by itself and click the add to cart but I no Idea how to make the cart .I got one from this site http://csharpdotnetfreak.blogspot.com/2009/05/aspnet-creating-shopping-cart-example.html but it dosen't work with my application since i've built in my own Authentication and they use windows authentacion.
I have created a master page with a Login Control, however it does not authenticate, the page will refresh and display the anonymous template of the LoginView control. LoginView control works if I place in into ContentPlace holder.
I am not used to work with SQL Server(usually I just use express). I run it on windows server 2008, iis7.
I have attached the database to my sql server. I made a web site in iis7 but I get this error message.
Cannot open database "Phaeton.mdf" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE'. Connectionstring I use <add key="PhaetonConnectionString" value="Data Source=.;Initial Catalog=Phaeton.mdf;Integrated Security=True"/>
i m currently creating an article module, and i want if user wana comment on to the any particular artical, than he should login any of his mail id like gmail, yahoo hotmail etc and than post his or her comment and after than comment should go into the DB.
I want to create 2 login actionresults from 2 user's tables, one user's table is from aspnetdb.mdf and its for admin and its already created by MVC itself, the other user's table is from my own database and I want to create it for general users "subscribers "
working sample of logging in using Twitter (OAuth) for .NET I'm currently using this one [URL] but it only works if I set the callback url to "oob", if I set a real callback url I get "401 unauthorized".
We have created a windows application which is distributed amongst our clients. The application uses SQL Server 2008 as the back end and each client uses their own database on their own server. The databases are all exactly the same but each clients data is specific only to them.
We would like to offer our clients the ability to log-in to our website which would then login to their own database so that when they are out in the field they can perform similar tasks to what they can do with the windows app. Each of the clients databases has a user table containing their login details, permissions etc.
Our server is running on IIS and has SQL Server 2008 installed but it only contains our data and nothing of the clients. How should we go about this?
What I mean is do we need to make each client have an additional login to our main server which would then hold each clients individual connection strings etc which would then be used to connect to there specific database and then they would need to login again?? Seems like a nightmare for the user.
I have just turned on all membership infrastructure, maked an "Administrator" and successfully logined using standard LoginForm control. But when I uploaded my website on hosting server, I couldn't login anymore.I have MachineKey in web.config. Perhaps I need to set something on server (it is my VDS).
I have been asked to use the login control to authenticate users to use the website. I have a master page which has header pictures and a menu down the left. I have created a login form and configured my web.config file to use form authentication but when I run it, it does not show my master page just the content page. Should my login page not be a content page?
im trying to set up a session for UserID which is contained in the User table along with username and password. Im unsure how to get the UserID based on the username and password in my sqlsyntax then pass it to my session? My last peace of code is just a test in a label to see if it will pass the number to the label.
I have a web application that authenticates against AD. On the first login attemt it takes roughly 30 seconds to login. On subsequent requests the login occurs almost immediatly. I've searched all over google and this forums and noticed several people with the problem and everyone seems to have a different solution of which none work for me.
I wrote an asp.net application with default.aspx. When I hit this page It is asking me windows login popup window. My application should me windows authentication required but it should "Integrated Windows authentication". If I enter login password I am able to see my page. How can I automatically integrate this windows authentication? I added below code in web.config. still doesn't work.
