View 2 RepliesI receive this error when running the application. It is the LogOutPageUrl from the login/logout control. I have substituted several different destination pages, which all work in any other part of the application. However still get this error? what may be causing this, or why none of the other pages I have used will work either? Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
View 4 RepliesI have an option in my website to logout from session and redirect to login page. So I get redirected and if I try to login again it seems like it tries to redirect me to login page over and over, until I click some page in menu and login and it does works. so, doesn't the login control always redirect to same DestinationPageUrl? here the logout code:
[Code]....
When user logout, we redirect him to the login page. I show a message "You have successfully logged out." on login page using query string. But when user refresh the login page the message still appears. How can I make sure during subsequent refresh, the login page should not show logout message. Here is the code:
login.aspx
[Code]....
logout link executes the following statement:
[Code]....
When I click the "Log out", I would like to convert to login.aspx page.What do I do?

View 2 RepliesI got a problem with my login and logout for my asp.net website, whenever i try to login or logout, it will load the page i direct it to first then i have to reload the page again for the login or logout to work. First my login i am using a login control to do it and also using this code to go to another page:
protected void Login1_LoggedIn(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Server.Transfer("LogonPage.aspx");
}
Next is my logout i am just using a button for the logout along with this codes:
protected void btnLogout_Click(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
Response.Clear();
FormsAuthentication.SignOut();
Server.Transfer("Login.aspx");
}
i really want it to login and logout at my first click.
I need to disallow the user from clicking the back button after they have login to the web site.
I have to stop them from going back after thay have logout from the web site.
I find out online that this can be done
but once the javascript function is turn off it does not work.
[Code]....
Is there any way to really stop go back function in the above situation? I wonder how the bank commercial web site handle this kind of situation?
How to logout from web site without any login status? i mean when my loginstatus control is not visible i want a method that makes the user loged out.

View 2 RepliesI created one project in vs2010 with ASP.NET Web Application.It provides login / logout link in uppper right conner.How can I detect wheter user clicking is login or lgout.If the event is login, I want to write some values in a session.If the event is logout, I want to delete all cookies. I tried to find event in Site.Master.aspx. However, I couldn't find it.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to find a very simple code that allow users to login and logout using C# asp.net 2008.
I used to compare the cookies with session ID, it worked fine but I could not find a way so the user can logout.
currently I have a website with authentication using Microsoft.IdentityModel.Web.WSFederationAuthenticationModule. It redirects me to login page (single sign-on outside my website) and upon login, I am redirected to default page.
Now, when I was using CreateUserWizard asp.net control, it seems that upon creation of user, the control tried to use my machine name to login to db server (i.e. '$') instead of using SSO login which has just been done.
Does anybody know how to customize the control to use federation login to connect to db server? In addition, how to set so that the control will use certain specified sql account to login to db server?
I have developed a web application in which i manage details of different companies,,,for that i as admin add companies and their details in my database...right now my role is administrator in my web application
The problem is everytime i have to update company details and other information
I want companies to update their own information...
so how i can create a role and create usernames for companies so that they can login to their individual accounts and update the company information by themselves ?
One important thing of my requirement: One company can have multiple usernames accounts..
I'm trying to build a login form to authenticate google account using asp.net, I have read and found something but It's not clear.
View 3 RepliesI have a site where I am using asp.net membership login. I have multiple companies creating login accounts, to minimize name collision I would like to append the company name on the end of the username during the login process. I can determine the company based on the url. I am able to authenticate the user in onauthenticate, but I am not sure how to actually login the account with the modified username properly.
Example: I use login JohnSmith
I append JohnSmith@company1 behind the scenes. And I authenticate the user in the onauthenticate event using validate user with this modified name.However, I really haven't stopped the JohnSmith account from being used so none of the Profile stuff works. this ability located in on loggingin or onlogged in events?
i currently develop an asp.net mvc 2 web app using asp.net membership and role management for authenticating and authorizing my users. I get complaints though that when adding a role to some user, he is not able to see new role assigned functionality, unless he re-enters (logout and login again) the application.
View 2 RepliesIn logout link's click event i have written Session.Abandon() that will destroy the Session state.I am also handling Session_End event that is fired afterward (written in Global.asax). But one more thing i want is that after Session ends, login page should be redirected (opened).
For that i wrote:
[Code]....
This is working fine on the surface, but after applying debugging i saw that there were unexpected number of calls to Session_Start and Session_End events for two times, then login page was opened.
Why Session_Start and Session_End was called two times ? If i left this process as it is working then may i get some serious error in future ?
usually in asp.net mvc there is thing [authorize]...which will allow users only after authetication...but this works on in bulit logins in asp..
now am creating my own login...with user name and password...afteri logout...when user tries to access the home of my it should redirect to login page...and the cache should be cleared
