Web Forms :: Pass Data From Master Page PageLoad Event To Content Page PageLoad Event
Oct 21, 2015
I have a masterPage on that i am using AjaxModalPopup for login purpose.My requirement is when i login via Master page then it should show the Logged-in User details on the current Content Page that is using same master page.
Here i am using following code to get it back to the same content page after succesful login but it does not show the user details on the same content page rather when i go to next page then it appears.
I have an unbound gridview which is bound to a dynamically created datatable during the pageload event of my page. A simple matrix with x columns and y rows. I need all the cells to be the same size. I'll display my code below.
In my Home page I have a link to my Details page. When I click on the link it goes to the Details page Page Load Function like its suppose to, but when it finishes it goes back to the Home pages Page Load Function. Then loads the Details page. So it parses the old pages Page Load Function for somewhat no apparent reason, because in the end it loads the Details page. This only happens when I click on the link to my Details page. When I click on other links to other pages, it doesn't do this. For some reason only my Details page. I went through the code to see what could be causing this but have no clue. I included below the complete .aspx.vb for my Details page. What could be causing this? Again this ONLY happens when going to my Details page.
i have many aspx pages in one folder (100 pages) and they will keep increasing. I have 1 vb.net file which has the code for these pages. Can i call that pageload event in vb.net file from all these pages?
currently im using this code, but its not reading the pageload event.
[code]....
vb.net page code -
Public Module NewOne Public Sub NewOne_Load(ByRef Page As Web.UI.Page) end sub end module
I am tryign to make the master page code globally do some chaecking before the content page loads. Pageload event in Masterpage is executed after the content page for some strange reason. How do I go about this?
I have an aspx application with 2 aspx pages. Second aspx page will get opened on click of a button in first aspx page using JavaScript. The problem is, when the second aspx page is getting opened, its Page_load event is not firing. Only when I refresh the second page, page_load event of second aspx page is fired. what might be the problem and what is to be done to fire the page_load event.
Here is my situation: I have a user control that has a menu in it. This user control sits on my master page. It is my main navigation menu for my application. I am having an issue where, on one of my pages, users seem to be leaving the page before committing all changes to the database, which results in a loss of data. So what I want to accomplish is - if the user is leaving this page and the data has not been saved yet, I want to prompt the user and say something like "The information is not yet saved, are you sure you want to leave this page" in a modal popup. So my approach is this: In my menu user control, create an event handler called MenuClicked that is raised when the menu web control's (in the user control) MenuItemClicked is raised, I raise my custom MenuClicked event. Then on my master page, I can catch this event in NavMenu_MenuClicked. My problem is - I need to catch this event in my content page, not the master? Am I approaching this correctly?
Can I modify the properties of a content page control from an event fired from the master page?create a delegate and event on master page wire up the master page in the content page create the event handler (function) on the content page modify for example:
contents of the Text property of a textbox render a control visible (or hidden) etc...
Gridrow Button click loads aspx Page1 which is a Modal window(window.showmodaldialog). It has an ascx in it called UC1. In my Page1 following is added.
<head><base target ='_self'/></head>(this was added to solve the problem of losing session data on load of Page1) I cannot do away without this code.
I am assuming this is avoiding Pageload event of Page1 when the same gridrow button, who opens up Page1, is clicked the second time. Please note that after second click I can see the page1 with all it's controls but when I try to debug, I see that it does not raise the page load event the second time. It's as thought the page had been cached or the same frame is gettign loaded.
Problem is I want to raise the Page load event the second time also beacuse my dataload for Page1 happens only on page load. PS: Please note only the second click onwards page load doesn't happen. the first time pagelaod works. If I click a new row's button the first time it works.. later it stops doing a pageload
The following code works fine for disabling content page controls, but how do I disable master page controls?
public void DisableControls(Control control,bool isEnable) { if (control.HasControls()) { foreach (Control c in control.Controls) { DisableControls(c, isEnable); } } else { if (control is IPostBackDataHandler && !(control is IPostBackEventHandler)) { if (control is WebControl) { ((WebControl)control).Enabled = isEnable; } else if (control is HtmlControl) { ((HtmlControl)control).Disabled = !isEnable; } } } }
Suppose i have created one .js file name as: MyNoteBook.js. In this .js file i have written function as name count().
Now I am creating MyNoteBook.aspx page in asp.net. On the event of pageload of .aspx file, i want to call that count() function of that .js file. Is it is possible, If yes then tell me.
If no, then how i can write count function in .aspx page?
How to display record in gridview using pageload event in vb.net ? i wanna use two SqlDatasource1 and sqldatasource 2 to display record in single gridview1
SqlDatasource1 will display all records from tabel where as SqlDatasource will be used to display particuar record search in table 1 but how to do this ?
I have a ShoppingCart UserControl on MasterPage. I have a following functionality: User adds item to the cart. after clicking the button "Complete Sale" in UserControl the page is redirected to "CustomerInfo.aspx" and after filling the Customer information and clicking on submit which is on CustomerInfo.aspx page i want to call the "Complete Sale" click event of UserControl from "Customerinfo.aspx" page.
My problem is this I have a base page that creates content dynamically. There are buttons on my Master Page that fire events that my base page needs to know about. But the OnLoad function on my base page fires before my Button_Command function on my master page. So I either need to figure out a way to load my base page after the Button_Command function has had the chance to set a variable or I must call a function in my base page from the Button_Command function.
I have all my site navigation done in my master page. However, I have one page where if they make changes I set a set a flag that I want to use makes them save or cancel the changes before they can navigate away from the page. How do I go about for just that single page overriding the Master Page navigation events?
I have a ASP.NET content page where the master page is set dynamically. Both master pages contain a print button and an associated event handler for the click event of the button. Unfortunately I receive a run-time error when I attempt to dynamically access the event from the master page that was not initially assigned. Below are code snippets:
Page_Load(): Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load Dim strPageTitle As String = "Evaluator Data Form - Instructions" If Page.MasterPageFile.Contains("masEvaluators.master") Then Dim mp As Evaluators_masEvaluators = CType(Me.Master, Evaluators_masEvaluators)
[code]....
which produces the following error when I load the page and reference the "masStaff.master" master page:
System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'ASP.staff_masstaff_master' to type 'Evaluators_masEvaluators'. at Evaluators_EDF_Instructions.Page_Load....
I can solve the problem by adding a print button to the content page, but that defeats the purpose of using a master page.
I have actually resolved my problem but I want to understand why. The scenario I have is an input for logging in on my Default.aspx page. When the user logs in the page refreshes and the login box changes to display a logout box using:
loginBox.visible = false
logoutBox.visible = true
My question is about the positioning of this code. I had my code validate the users input when the btnLogin is clicked. I then had those two lines above under PageLoad but this did not work. The user would log in but would have to refresh the page to update the boxes. Instead I had to place those two lines of code in the btnLogin Clicked area, at the same time as the user is validated.
It was always my understanding that when something on the page is clicked/activated the entire page is reloaded, but this appears not to be the case otherwise the PageLoad area should have worked.
