PageLoad Event Is Not Fired When An Aspx Is Opened Through Javascript Of Another Aspx Page
Jan 25, 2011
I have an aspx application with 2 aspx pages. Second aspx page will get opened on click of a button in first aspx page using JavaScript. The problem is, when the second aspx page is getting opened, its Page_load event is not firing. Only when I refresh the second page, page_load event of second aspx page is fired. what might be the problem and what is to be done to fire the page_load event.
i have many aspx pages in one folder (100 pages) and they will keep increasing. I have 1 vb.net file which has the code for these pages. Can i call that pageload event in vb.net file from all these pages?
currently im using this code, but its not reading the pageload event.
[code]....
vb.net page code -
Public Module NewOne Public Sub NewOne_Load(ByRef Page As Web.UI.Page) end sub end module
I have a masterPage on that i am using AjaxModalPopup for login purpose. My requirement is when i login via Master page then it should show the Logged-in User details on the current Content Page that is using same master page.
Here i am using following code to get it back to the same content page after succesful login but it does not show the user details on the same content page rather when i go to next page then it appears.
I have more than one user control and those user controls have extenders of the ajaxcontroltoolkit. The problem is that each one has a javascript that writes "function PageLoad"... and as I have more than one user control in the same aspx, more than one of those javascript functions is written in the output. Is there anyway to combine all of them in just one function? (bear in mind that the javascript code is written within the user control and the user control doesn't know anything about what other control are in the container aspx). If I have more than one function PageLoad they will not work then, right?
For example, I have master page MyMasterPage.aspx and content page MyDefault.aspx. I have many UpdatePanels at MyMaterPage.aspx, and also I have many UpdatePanels at MyDefault.aspx.
[code]....
I want JavaScript functionClickMenu(this) at input button [id="ButtonMaster1" @ MyMasterPage.aspx] pass its value ["Menu-1"] into text box [id="TextBoxDefault1" @ MyDefault.aspx], and then performing update / doing post-back to server ONLY FOR UpdatePanelDefault1.
I am looking forward an example code for JavaScript functionClickMenu(this).
I wrote a test page that does a bunch of busy work in a method called at page load. This process as I have it now takes around 12 seconds.
If I try to load another page while the first long running page is loading, this second page doing nothing except writing out a world, it doesn't load until the first long running page is finished.
Why is this the case? I would think IIS would be able to handle multiple concurrent connections, it seems crazy that one long running page would stop every other page in the application from loading. I must be missing something or not understand how IIS works.
I would think multiple independent requests would be spawned on different threads. Is this only the case if the requests are from different sessions entirely? Are all requests from a single session bound to a single thread?
I have page A.aspx where I show some result in listview. When I click On Some data on listview I go to page B.aspx. Now the problem is when I click on back in page B.aspx it comes to A.aspx with out previous listview result. Ack requirement is when I come to page A.aspx result of listview has to be there. How do i do that?
I work in VS 2008. Whenver I add a server control(Label) and set it properties in aspx.vb and build the solution, I get the error "Label1 not declared". While analyzing this issue I noticed that the event handler statements for the Label1 where not added in the designer.asp.vb file. These statement would actually be added automatically when I drag and drop a control to my webpage.
I would also like to inform the scenario after which this problem came to me. I was working in VS 2008 , VS 2005 and VS 2003 in the same machine.Could this have caused the issue ?
Now each and everytime when I add a control, I am adding the "With Events" code in the designer page to make my build succesfull which makes me to spend more efforts.
How can I call a public property declared on a ASPX page from a different ASPX Page? Is that possible? It is a website project. How can I get/call this property from a different aspx page? I have attempted this from the other page, but it is not recognizing the partial class: private Test_Default _test; It does not recognize the "Test_Default"
i have to give the user the option to upload his own aspx and aspx.cs files on to the server, adjust the hyperlink to point to a page which would do the following display the aspx and aspx.cs files code onto the page without actually rendering the code the browser should not understand anything, and while reading the files to display them the method be such that nothing is processed on the server regarding the code within the files to prevent from unnecessary problems many user would try to cause.
i have tried many ways of displaying it but it ends up on displaying the actual comments instead of the code. how to achieve the above. note main concentration is on asp.net and c# using vs08, so j script and ready-made tools be avoided if feasible
This page will refresh every 10 seconds. This is because we're using the 'onload' event to call our function. We are passing in the value '5000', which equals 5 seconds.
</p> </body>
Now my aspx page is using Content and referencing masterpage, Page Language="VB"
When I try to add this code to a new page it works fine and page refreshes as desired, but on existing page it gives error-ErrorValidation (XHTML 1.0 Transitional): Element 'body' cannot be nested within element 'td' ....
Suppose i have created one .js file name as: MyNoteBook.js. In this .js file i have written function as name count().
Now I am creating MyNoteBook.aspx page in asp.net. On the event of pageload of .aspx file, i want to call that count() function of that .js file. Is it is possible, If yes then tell me.
If no, then how i can write count function in .aspx page?
I have a page which contains linkbuttons and panels. all panels have DetalilView and gridView controls. On click of linkbutton, panel's visibility is set. everything works fine on my local server. But on production server, no events of Button, DetailsView and GridView fires.
First I am new to the asp.net world and am trying to figure out a weird issue that I am having. I have a page that has a form and on submit I launch another aspx file that exists in the same directory. The problem is the aspx file is shown and the file closes immediately! However, the weird part is if I make any modifications to the aspx file and save it and then run my application it works fine only the first time? Any subsequent submit actions launch the aspx page but then the aspx file immediately closes. But after I make some modifications to the aspx file..(simple ones) it launches correctly the first time. We are targeting .net version 4.0 and using IIS7. I am thinking that the asp worker process is doing something weird like checking for timestamps and closing it?!
i am loading a usercontrols dymaically, i need to create a event listener so any controls that i load will pass back a int id to my aspx page. what is the best way to create a dynamic listener?
Control FeaturedProductUserControl = LoadControl("FeaturedProduct.ascx"); Controls.Add(FeaturedProductUserControl); PlaceHolderLeftMenu.Controls.Add(FeaturedProductUserControl);
i want to know, if is better to make an entire page in the aspx file or in the aspx.vb file. If you have to decide, which one do you choose? ie in aspx:
Code: <asp:Table ID="Table1" runat="server" Width="980"> <asp:TableRow> <asp:TableCell> SOME TEXT </asp:TableCell> </asp:TableRow> </asp:Table> ie in aspx.vb: Code: dim tabla as new table tabla.id = "Table1" tabla.width = 980 dim fila as new tablerow dim celda as new tablecell celda.text = "SOME TEXT" fila.cells.add(celda) tabla.rows.add(fila) form1.controls.add(tabla)
